Help me choose - Chinese or Indian ?
INDIAN!!
Bethany, I can give you some Boston recommendations. Are you looking for ideas for food, or stuff to do? You don't need a car. Your hotel is right near the Kendall Sqaure stop on the red line. Driving in Boston is a nightmare anyway.
It's kind of touristy, but if you have not seen the city before, I highly recommend that you take a Duck Tour. It is really fun! I've gone a couple of times. The boat takes you through the city, points out various landmarks, and then drives into the Charles River for a water tour. This is a very popular activity, so I recommend that you buy your tickets in advance online. Here is a link to their website:

For a birds eye view of the city, you can go to the top of the Prudential Tower and visit the SkyWalk.

There's a restaurant up there too--Top of the Hub, but it's really overpriced and the food is mediocre. I'd just go to the SkyWalk.
The flowers should be blooming in the Public Garden (well some of them anyway), so it is worth stopping by and looking at the gardens. There is a small pond in the middle, with old swan boats that you can ride on. It's a nice way to relax for a couple of minutes.

I also highly recommend a walking tour of the Freedom Trail. You can go on your own (there is a red line painted on the sidewalk that you follow), or take a guided tour. You'll hit all the big historical sites, and the walk is not overly long:

Foodwise:
Union Oyster House has great atmosphere, but the food is not good. At all. I would recommend stopping by the bar for a drink, maybe a cup of chowder, but that's it.
One of my favorite casual places is Silvertone Bar and Grill. It's located right off Boston Common, which is adjacent to the Public Garden. Here is their menu:

If you like fish, there is a Legal Seafoods right in Kendall Square. They do a nice job with plain grilled fish. I think their sides are boring and the vegetables are bland, but that's just my opinion. The fish is always very fresh though!
For casual Italian in the North End, you might like Antico Forno. They have a wood burning oven and serve pizzas and pasta from it. Here's their menu (they have an annoying website):

Or just go to the North End Pizzeria Regina for a slice, or a whole pie. Get there early or you will have to wait in line. OH, and DON'T go to any other Pizzeria Regina! Only the one in the North End is any good.

One more...Giacomos in the North End. They don't have a website and they don't take reservations, but here is their menu on menupages:

I concur on Mike's Pastry. I give Modern Pastry a slight edge for cannolis, but Mike's has such an amazing array of well, everything, that you should definitely stop in. It's a sugar haven!
