The What's For Dinner Thread - Feb '09(recipe index in OP)

ETA: What a Dumass! We are due 8 - 14 inches. Please pray I do not go into labor now (I have really been feeling crappy). It would be my luck to get stuck and have to give birth in the back of the car!

:lmao: praying there are no in car deliveries for you. Rest today.

We just got home and it start snowing about a mile away from home. Not sure what we are supposed to get if anything. The local news wasn't making sense to me earlier.

Yeah, the weather reports have not been making much sense. They say "light wintry mix" in one spot and "upwards of 8 inches" in another. Then I saw that they are not sure what's going to happen because it depended on the wind or something.

Thanks all for the well wishes. I did go to the Dr. and it is not bronchitis. I have a virus and have to let it take it's couse...ugh!!!!!

Our household issues multiplied last night. Started with the DirectTV box blowing, then heat, then a leak under kitchen sink, and then septic. Enough of bad luck already.:scared1:
Ann

Ugh. I know a bit about the whole "it's a virus and let it takes its course." Yeah and it only took 3 weeks for the one I had to "take its course". I was sick from about Jan 31-Feb 16.

That's a lot of things to break all at once! Usually they come in threes, but with your 4 broken things + virus, you're already at 5!

ETA: I must really live in a bubble...even with Beacky and Laura talking of snow, it didn't even dawn on me to check the forecast for here. What a Dumass! We are due 8 - 14 inches. Good luck! pixiedust: for no :drive: deliveries!

liamsaunt - that bread picture showed up in my dream last night! :lmao:

:scared1: Prayers and good thoughts coming your way.

WFD - Mediterranean steak kabobs, au gratin potatoes and green bean/artichoke casserole.

You do the same. Are you taking anything?

I was taking sudafed and robitussin as approved by my OB, but the Dr. at the walkin told me he disagreed and I should not take anything but tylenol and fluids!:scared1: He made me feel so darn guilt I stopped taking everything, but I do think my OB is the best around and know what they are talking about.

Please, please, please don't let it be a 3 week virus like you. It has been about a week and I am one tired Mommy!! Thanks for the  it is appreciated.

Did Maria leave yet?? If not happy house hunting and have the fun your deserve on the rest of your trip.

WFD- Chicken parm cutlets and tortellini

Yeah, I hope yours isn't that long! I think I got two different ones, because the symptoms changed about two weeks in. The stomach virus with the dizziness and exhaustion lasted the first two weeks, and the last week it was more of a head cold/sinus thing.

Your OB is the one to listen to, that Dr at the walkin should not have told you that.:sad2:

Lauren- sending :wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard: that there are no bean sprouts for at least two days!

Ann- listen to your OB. The virus may be one that lingers, I hope not but JIC, go back to bed and rest.

Kathy- Kyle can pitch, he just needs one good game to remember that he is darn good! The coach has seen more than one Freshman develop cold feet on their first game, and I hope he can help him to get his confidence back up!

Stephanie- If those places handed out aspirin I would be the first inline. I read all of the posts last night after we got home and oh my goodness! I had a pounding headache, was sick to my stomach and grouchy.

Heading out for a quick run to the market before the storm hits and then I'll settle in to watch the girls scrap.

I have a virus and have to let it take it's couse...ugh!!!!!

I hope it passes quickly. As others have said, I would listen to your OB rather than the walk-in dr.

Please pray I do not go into labor now

I hope Bean waits until the storm passes!

Well, we are stuck here instead of visiting with Becky. The snow isn't too bad, but my mom gets really nervous about me driving in it, so we stayed home. I am either making spaghetti and meatballs or just having some of the leftover Indian food from yesterday. I can't decide what I am in the mood for.

So....I think I take too many pictures. The photos on my computer were the reason it was too full to work properly back in January. Anyways, I have 424 photos from the Audubon Zoo! I've uploaded some of them; if you're interested, you can go here.

I THINK this pelican was eating. He put his beak underwater then started flapping his wings like crazy. They look ridiculous! I wish I had a good video of it, but I don't. :lmao:

I'm working to upload more photos from NOLA and from my December WDW trip. I'm just SLIGHTLY behind. :rolleyes1

Hey Y'all, Just a quick check in to say Hi & I'm fine! Loopy on friday after my injection & hurting yesterday. It starting to improve some today.

I haven't read back, but I see we don't have bean yet & he needs to hold off until the snowstorm passes! Prayers for Lauren & Bean!:flower3:

Ann, I'm sorry you are sick! Prayers for you to get well!

I hope everyone else is well. Y'all take care!:grouphug:

oh Becky, Pretty bread! :thumbsup2

Good grief!! I hope all things improve soon.

Hee hee, we made our WDW reservations yesterday. We are going Nov. 1-7.

Where are you staying this trip?

Crossing fingers! :wizard:

We have nothing in the house to eat so we're going out for BBQ tonight. We have a BOGO free coupon so it's a cheap night out.

Anyone gone to WDW during Christmas? We have loved going the first week of Dec in the past (low crowds!) but DH hopes to be teaching school next year and we will have to work around school holidays. I haven't spent Christmas with my mom in years so we thought about going (if he has a job). I got a 40% off code so we talked about putting a deposit down on rooms for now and waiting to see what happens. I know it's crazy busy and expensive, and we won't do much park time - is it absolutely miserable busy?

Hey Guys! Talked to the doctor today and he is leaning towards the C Section. He is 90% sure that we can keep the date as Saturday. I hope so...I would even take Friday but would not like to go passed Sat. I was hoping to be home for A's birthday on the 10th.

Thanks for the good thoughts on not going until the storm is over...

We were there 12/23 - 12/31 in 2006...it was jam packed and the reason it was bearable was because we went on the DVC tour and got the instant fast passes that were good for the entire time. If it wasn't for them, we probably would not have been able to go on 1/3rd as many attractions. I really loved seeing all the decorations, etc. but probably would not go during that week ever again. DTD was so packed it was like we were packed like sardines.

Lauren I can't believe it is almost time for little bean to sprout. Are you saying saturday as in this week? Wow! I hope you all are not getting to much snow.

I wonder how crowded things will be since it sounds like the ecomony has hit Disney too.:confused3

Anyone gone to WDW during Christmas?

We went ages ago when it was only MK and Epcot. It was crazy busy, but we did have a great time. I would not go that week with my kids, since they would be disappointed not being able to ride everything, but I think it is a special and fun time to be there.

The snow today wasn't too bad, and I would have gone to see my parents if I had known it was going to be so light. We might get up to 20 inches in the next 24 hours though  I had the leftover Indian food, since I discovered that I don't have the tomatoes to make spaghetti sauce, and the kids had noodles, ham and sugar snap peas.

Laura is underexagerrating. The parks were closed by 10:30 AM for capacity. We waited 2 AND A HALF HOURS to ride Imagination. :scared1:

Hang in there! I can't belive it's this Saturday!

We had roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, butternut squash for dinner. No photos today, sorry! I did bake another loaf of bread today and it smells so good, I want to eat a big piece!

I put my new haircolor up on facebook, ladies. ;)

I really missed Laura today. She should have come over, but my Mom is a freakazoid when it comes to weather.

Liamsaunt.....your bread was in my dream last night!

I had another doozie of a dream last night! :lmao:

I forget where I was (I don't know WHY...as AGAIN it was some place I'd never been :confused3 ) but this seal (sea lion?) got hurt, so they put it in the backseat of my car and put the seat belt on it. I was driving around with this seal and then we went to the zoo with it; my brother was with me.

On the way to the zoo, we went past this building where a guy was climbing up the outside of the wall (without harness or anything - just climbing!) We also stopped somewhere to eat, and I forget what all we had, but this loaf of bread that liamsaunt made was part of the meal. It was some good bread! :rotfl2:

When we got to the zoo, I had to buy a ticket for my pet (the seal) to enter with me. So, my brother, the seal, and I are walking around the zoo. We go to the seal area, which is really just a swimming pool, and anybody can swim in it. :confused3 So I let the seal go swimming and I found a squirt gun and I was squirting it as it was swimming around. It was a happy seal. :thumbsup2 Then I woke up. :rotfl:

Hey...

We had pizza for dinner.

The boy had a sleepover at my brothers last night. This was a big deal.

My brother has made some bad life choices.

But He has worked hard to get himself together so I had to show trust and faith in him.

It was hard, but i turned out great.

The boy loves my brother so much and he was sooooo excited.

They had a total boys night.....

McD's and sweets for dinner, watched tv and played video games till midnight.

And for breakfast....popcorn !!

The boy had a ball and I think it has done my brother good to.
