The What's for Dinner Thread - August 2014 (recipe index in OP)

Hope everyone is doing well, I just wanted to say that my body is still not happy with me, I tried to do some yoga and it yelled loudly at me.
I went to see a therapist and they explained that I was experiencing atrophy in the muscles from my recovery, and that I need to go slow and steady and I will improve. Uggghhhh.

Take it easy. I'm sure the muscles needs time to get back up to speed. :hug:
 
yes it does... I am ready to get back to my old self.
I need to be able to walk, jog, lift without worry, Dr. said it could take a year. :(

Kimmar - hope you get your kitchen back soon. It seems to have taken quite a bit of time for this room....
....that's because it's being put on the [excuse the pun] back burner - something else seems to get in to way.....on a positive note, I made stuffed peppers (I make them all the time) in the crock pot for the first time, and I have to admit, they were pretty durn good!

They say that even an athlete at the top of their game experiences serious muscle atrophy after three days of bed rest, so just take your time and try to have patience. I know it's hard, but you'll get there.

Are you even close yet? Do you have floors, countertops? I'd be going nuts!

....well, yes, we have walls and all the cabinets are in place. We were expecting to get the quartz counters to be installed on Wednesday or Thursday but we haven't heard from the granite guy. One the bright side, we DID get our new refrigerator delivered yesterday morning as promised. It's plugged in but y DH has to install a new water line for the ice maker. The oak floor was installed [by my DS] and the floor finishers came back 4 days in a row to stain the floor, sand it, and put on 3 coats of poly......STUNK UP THE PLACE! :crazy2:
 
....DH has to install a gas line for the new oven, so I don't even have my old electric one anymore......thank goodness for:

.....I'm making a prime roast in it tomorrow for Easter....;)

DH made cauliflower soup (seasoned with oregano, cinnamon and sage) and we had that with crusty bread. It's definitely turning winter here.
