This week has just flown by!

11 days until my major milestone at work and things are just frantic there. I am so glad I have today to chill-ax and enjoy some time off.
Just catching up on the Dis properly for the first time this week; so apologies for being MIA. By the looks of things, aside from Brandi, I haven't been the only one.

WFDT? I think we're doing Ramen noodles tonight!

Saturday mid-afternoon and I've finished my cleaning chores for this week. There's a load of laundry on the go....and aside from that, I think I'm clear for the arvo to catch up on my 2D life.

I'm planning on heading back to that abandoned site again this evening. There's another excursion there tonight and I hadn't planned on going. But there was a change in circumstance this week. That abandoned site has been sold to a Chinese investor about 18 months back and it seems like this week there has been some movement to secure the site. The front gate has been locked and the gaps in the fencing are being repaired. I figured this excursion is probably the last time I'll get to see that site. There are plans to convert it into houses and apartment.

WFDT? I expect I'll be having BBQ sausages for dinner at that site. The boys are on their own!

Sunday afternoon and finally, a little more time for the Dis!


I had a fun night last night. Will load up pictures shortly and I'm really glad I went. Turned out to be a better night than last week.
Today, I also found time to head to the local hardware store. We finally picked up those summer vegies and I'm hoping that I'll get out later this afternoon to plant them. It's too sunny and warm out there for my skin right now.

WFDT? I think DH and I are doing steamed vegies. DS will just have to cope!

Alison - I found an article in forbes that I was reading about aged eggnog, and it made me think of you and I saying that we remain relative healthy for the Germ Killer we consume.

I have a few minutes, so I thought I would pop in. I have been swamped since I got back!!

PIO ~ Your pictures are stunning. You are very talented my friend.

Brandi ~ I thought about you last weekend with all of the football being played.

Alison ~ I am enjoying your trip report. I don't always post but I do read. You are so lucky!!
How is the frige working now?

Our Thanksgiving was a bit different. Neither one of my girls were able to join us and that was tough to begin with. Then we felt like this was the last hurrah with Matthew as next year he will also be married and I will have to share him too. But he was so sick the whole time that he or us didn't really have the "fun" we had planned. Then Aunt Bev got sick and was rushed to emergency on Monday and had her gall bladder removed. She got home on Tuesday, tired and weak but feeling ok. Don't get me wrong we had a nice time - just different. I was glad to be home.

The house is decorated and my shopping is almost finished. I still have to wrap my presents and get through 4 birthdays and I should be ready. Oh yea, I have my cards and baking to do yet. Oh my!!

All presents bought, all wrapped, all shipped that needed to be, and I have one Birthday to drop off, and one Christmas to drop off, and to write and send my cards.

So I think we are doing very well.

Just cards left.

Last weekend was lots of football, and this weekend is the SEC Championship game, next weekend is Wreath Laying at the National Cemetery, then an open Saturday, then Christmas. Wheew this year is wrapping up quick.

Afternoon all,

Brandi ~ You are amazing to have all of that done. I am ashamed to say I am not anywhere near ready. I always say I will not rush around, but I always end up doing just that. It does seem the years we travel to NM is worse, as I lose 2 important weekends. Oh well it will get done - it always does.
I can't wait for football this weekend. There are defiantly ones I want to see win and ones I don't. Should be fun!

The church is a buzzing today as tomorrow is our annual Country Store. There are all sorts of baked goods and crafts in the Multipurpose room and they are making cinnamon rolls and soup in the kitchen. This is my absolute favorite time of the year in my church. And tomorrow it will smell heavenly!!
