The What's for Dinner Thread - August 2014 (recipe index in OP)

Ellen, I would love it if you came out here! I would totally meet up with you and show you guys a good time at the park!

PIO, I'm glad that the single parenting is going well and that you have raised a good young man, even of he takes advantage of his father when he can.

Brandi, its so nice that you and David had great compatibility before you mer. I remember thinking that I would never get back to WDW when I was with my first girlfriend and then I meet Fran who is like the epitome of Disney lover!

Tonight I made a turkey. I think I missed making one in March so I think I have seven left in the freezer. I splurged and made homemade mashed potatoes. They were so good! Now I have to put it away for tonight and then tomorrow cut it all up for Olga.

The things we do for our cats.
We are lucky to find spouses that put up with us... HaHaHa

Alison I know you have used Garden Grocer right? Do you like them? Is there a FAQ page for them?

I did not like them. The last time I used them they forgot my head of lettuce which made having salad for dinner one night impossible. I called their 800 number and no one ever got back to me, they never refunded my money and never made it right.

Now I use "We Go Shop", you actually talk to your personal shopper, if there is a problem the owner Amy Martin will call you right back and they made a mistake the first time I used them (bought fully leaded Dr. Pepper instead of diet). They fixed it the next day. We left the wrong item with Bell Services and by the time we were back to the room the next night our replacement was there. They are really good about making stuff right and you can ask them to shop at whatever store you want. They charge you a delivery fee, and you pay real prices, not the inflated ones that Garden Grocer charges.

....WFDT? Prime rib, roasted red potatoes with olive oil and rosemary, and fresh broccoli....

We're waiting on our delivery of Thai/Japanese.

I'm having Tuna sashimi, she's having Crab and Cream Cheese Wontons, and we're splitting some fried rice and Pad See ew.

I thought that Garden Grocer were expensive, we just wanted some fruit (so I picked 6 Banana's, 6 oranges, and 6 grapefruit's with the Jimmy Dean breakfast bowl (3)) for our three mornings that we are there and a 12 pack of beer and it was $78 delivered. I thought that was an expensive breakfast and beer. So we passed on them.

We are staying at Beach Club, and I know the gas station right there has beer and for some reason I think I remember the marketplace there at Beach Club having fruit?

I think we are going to skip the delivery service this time.

Thanks for letting me know about the "We Go Shop" option.

Dinner last night was Quinoa, Spinach, and Kale. With fresh cucumbers, and Bell Peppers. David added a Salmon Filet to his, grilled

Happy Monday all!!

Man, I could have sworn I checked in on Friday. In fact I know I did - it must have gotten lost in cyber space. That has only happened one other time. Shoot - sorry.

Alison ~ Actually meeting you and Fran was a big pull for me. I was hoping you would feel the same way. :)
My cats are so deprived - they get just dry food. Whenever I give them anything else they leave presents all over for me.

Kimmar ~ Your dinner of Prime Rib sounds amazing.

Brandi ~ I love hummas - I need to make my own. Silly me, I didn't even think of it. Are you leaving for WDW here soon? You lucky duck!!

PIO ~ You are such a girl after my own heart. I plan our meals and shop accordingly. I am sure you are ready for DH to be home, but it really sounds like you and DS have had a good time.

I am so pleased to say I have lost 15 pounds. I am really starting to feel the difference. It makes it all worth it, that's for sure. I would like to lose another 15 to reach my goal. I can do this!!!

We had a mixed bag of a weekend. Wasn't the best that was for sure. We had hopes and plans of getting SO much done around the farm and house but it was one of those times that EVERYTHING we went to do it just didn't work out. Even going to the grocery store was a huge chore. We said forget about it and Saturday night we decided to go to the Hockey game - that was fun!! After Church yesterday we went out with friends for lunch then home for wash and a nap. By this point I was done. Tomorrow/ today had to be better, and so far it is!

WFDT ~ Grilled BBQ chicken breasts OP, baked beans OP and coleslaw for Doug and a green salad for me.

Make it a great day!!

Thanks for letting me know about the "We Go Shop" option.

I definitely like We Go Shop better than Garden Grocer, they give you the receipt from the market where they shop. Also last time I used Garden Grocer, my mushrooms were slimy, that was kind of gross.

Alison ~ Actually meeting you and Fran was a big pull for me. I was hoping you would feel the same way. :)

Of course! I can't speak for Fran, she doesn't normally come out to the parks to meet people, but I would love to!

My cats are so deprived - they get just dry food. Whenever I give them anything else they leave presents all over for me.

They occasionally leave presents regardless, but they swarm every time when I start feeding. I have my best customers and then there are the lurkers who only show up when no one is looking.

I am so pleased to say I have lost 15 pounds. I am really starting to feel the difference. It makes it all worth it, that's for sure. I would like to lose another 15 to reach my goal. I can do this!!!

Congratulations! That's great! I have lost some, but I keep going back up, it seems every time that I workout I gain half a pound. It's a little depressing. I would like to see that last five pounds go so I could tick off my first goal. Then I could get started on the second goal. And before I get a lecture, yes I know that muscle weighs 3 times more than fat, but I don't think I'm getting that much more muscle.

WFD? On the schedule, I had Mahi Mahi and stir fried veggies, but instead I went with Wednesdays dinner of Meatloaf and zucchini boats.

Terrific Tuesday!!

Alison ~ I would love to meet you in the parks. I ordered the DL DVD yesterday. I am working on Doug! So far he isn't saying NO anymore.............he just looks at me, but says nothing. That is a good thing! He really wants to go to WDW but I want to go to DL. I know he would love it once he was there.

Kimmar ~ I keep trying to find the old tags. They were so much better!!

Brandi ~ Oh I love the D & B bags. I only have one, but those are sure cute.

Beautiful day today even if the wind is blowing and it's a bit chilly - It's not raining. But is forecasted again for the weekend. Of course it is!! Would you believe that Doug hasn't swung a club yet this year. Every time he is going out the wind is either blowing 60+ mph or it's too cold. League starts in 2 weeks - oh my!!

WFDT ~ Chicken Flatbread pizza, green salad and strawberries with cream.

Make it a great day!
