The What's For Dinner Thread - August '09(recipe index in OP)

Sheryl- I'm so sorry for all your going through, poor little girl.

I would love to have an actual hair style (I just have long straight hair) but seeing the prices you need to pay, I think I'll enjoy my boring hair. Fortuanatly I don't neet to dye my hair, I'm not sure that I will. When the first grey appears I may change my mind. The person I'm growing my hair out to donate in honor of passed away thursday morning. It makes a little extra rinsing not really a big deal. I didn't want to say anything because of all the people here affected by cancer. She was a family friend and an all around wonderful woman.

Becky- My goal this winter is to learn how to post pictures, but then you'll all be stuck with hundreds of pictures of my cute pup.

Didn't notice the time, gotta run. I'll try to be back later.

Sheryl - I feel so bad for little Alexis. This poor child has been through so much already. I'll be praying for all of you through this, please let me know if I can help in any way.

Mr Dr. has put me on steroids, got my fingers crossed this works. I have to admit I haven't been as vigilant in the icing and elevating as I should. It's very hard when there are things that need to be done. I'm beginning to feel really bad about not exercising, I'm thinking maybe doing the stationary bike couldn't hurt.:confused3

News so far is not good. She is being admitted to the hosp. again. They suspect trapped infection. I am heading over there now, I will try to keep y'all updated.

:grouphug: I am so sorry this is happening to her :sad1: If you need to talk we are all here! I am glad we were able to chat this morning.

Sheryl, I was so sad reading the latest update. :grouphug:Sending positive thoughts and prayers to you all.

Robin, sorry for your loss of your dear friend. She sounded like a wonderful person just the way you described her. My deepest sympathies to you and her family.

Ellen, sounds like a great deal...education for free hair for life with waxing as a bonus. :thumbsup2 Love it!

Kathy, be vigilant or you are going to have this angry mob after you!!!!:headache: And NO stationary bike is not okay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glynis, stew smells good. I have decided why I hate crockpots...I am not a set it and forget it kinda girl. I keep popping in and looking at it. Darn thing seems like it just runs to darn hot. :headache:

-----

Luke is napping again today. He is beat, but much better. Thanks everyone for asking about him.

Prayers for Alexis... This is too much for a little girl to take...:sad1:

Kat, NO BIKE! Are you nuts? That movement will certainly aggrevate it more. Do you have it wrapped?

Are you cooking it on low? Mine runs hot, too. I always know that if the recipe says cook it for 6 hours on low, it will be done in 4 or 4 and a half.

It's all about experimentation. I don't like to leave my crockpot running while I'm not home, unless it's a recipe I've tried before, and know how it will cook.

OK my friends, no bike. I'm just having a hard time "doing nothing" but I realize the damage I could do. Thanks for caring, y'all are the best.:grouphug:

I'm so worried about Alexis, poor baby.:sad1:

Yes, it is on low and it actually got to a slow boil. It is a brand new crockpot too?!!!

Not sure if I am going to add whole bag of mini raviolis. I am worried how much it is going to swell with the meatballs in there as well.

Ann - I find the newer crock pots cook higher than the older ones. I've been dragging out my old one and using it instead.

I love decorating for Halloween.

I do too! I have a lot of stuff including a cemetary, small coffin (had to get rid of the big one because I didn't have enough room for it), skull fogger, an archway and I now have a fence. Instead of a real pumpkin I use all differant kinds of fake ones.

I ended up with an infection in my tooth socket which then spread thu my system.

Oh goodness!

Maria - Yes I rested all day but still no improvement. My Dr. told me to call tomorrow but honestly what else can be done?????

Rest, rest and more rest. I had a sprain and to this day I still have problems and it's probably because I didn't do what I was supposed to.

Y'all...Please pray for Alexis.!

Add me to the "stay off the bike" group! I know you have a lot to do but you need to relax!

The weekends are just to short! Went to my godsons football game Saturday, they lost. I decided to be cute and wear all black and add gold beads (the school colors) not remembering that the visitor bleachers, unlike most schools, are on the school side of the field and are therefore in direct sunlight! Then I went out to lunch with my friend and her mother and did a little shopping. Yesterday I did absolutely nothing, my weekends from here on are booked.

Not sure what dinner will be tonight, I have errands to run so I may just get something out.

Mine got to a slow boil, too. I just let it do it's thing, it didn't hurt it, at all. I just kept the ravioli out until about 20-30 minutes before serving. I'm not sure when I'd add the meat. They're precooked, so you just want to heat them up. Maybe add them at the same time as the ravioli, or just before to see how things go. Good luck. I don't think it will swell much.

Sheryl--Oh no! Poor Alexis! I hope she's better really really soon!!!! She just can't catch a break. Will definitely be praying for her!

Kathy--just an echo here--No Bike!!!!!!

I've got a live continuing ed webinar in about 5 minutes, so I gotta scram. And then we're off to Monday NIght football. Have a nice evening all!

Checking in on Alexis adn very sad right now :sad1::sad2::sad1: I would like to use my pressure washer on that Dr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And not in a good way! Praying that that poor baby is okay :sad1:

Kat- On the sofa, leg elevated and iced down., Let your Sweetie get take out and you watch reality TV! You have a trip to take!

Vickie- are you better today?

Sheryl -- I am so sad to hear about Alexis! I pray they are able to help her quickly and she can be back home.

We're headed over to a single guy's house tonight, so dinner should be interesting.;)
 You'll have to take pictures.

I'm very lucky to not have to deal with gray hair.

Wow! You are lucky. I don't know when I started getting gray hair, but Liam has a bunch of gray in the back of his head already.

And just to add my opinion -- NO BIKE! ;)

The person I'm growing my hair out to donate in honor of passed away thursday morning.

Oh Robin, I am so very sorry for your loss. I did not realize your friend was having such a difficult battle.

Marilyn -- I hope your godson's team does better next week.

Aimee -- I still can't figure out what cheddar beer soup recipe I use. It seems I combine a couple of them. I'll make it, pay attention to measurements/ingredients, and then post the recipe.

My clam chowder tonight was good. I just made pasta with sauce for the kids.

Hi ya'll quick check in here.

Vickie, So sorry about your dental problems. I hope you get better before your trip.

Ann, I hope Luke is feeling better.

Sheryl - waiting anxiously to hear about Alexis. Poor girl.

Robin - Sorry for your loss.

Kathy - rest is the best thing. Bicycle :scared1: Geez!

As for the hair coloring, I'm very lucky to not have to deal with gray hair. Maybe that's why my price is much lower.:confused3

I tend to ignore my grays. It helps that I have dark blonde hair; it kinda blends in:lmao:

Becky - add my voice to the others - please keep posting pics!!

Good morning ladies! Another Monday. Back to the daily grind. I just keep reminding myself that after today I only have 3 work days left until vacation! Tonight is Monday night football so I'm not having to cook. We're headed over to a single guy's house tonight, so dinner should be interesting.;)

Maria--I'll try to post a pic on fb of the artwork I bought at the auction.

Vacation!:cheer2: Yay!!

I think I need to make some facebook friends, if that's where the pictures keep going:love:

Maria - Buffalo, yum! Sounds like you've had some good meals lately!

Glynis - I hope they were able to fix your furnace and without it costing and arm and a leg!

Dinner tonight was hot dogs and french fries.
