Just checked out the first season; plan on watching to see if I want to see the whole series.

Oh, you do. It was a good series. We loved the characters. The story lines were timely....probably still are. :thumbsup2

I watched it when it aired originally and again on Netflix a couple of months again. I was struck how similar the issues are still....

The West Wing series is television at it's best!

You will enjoy the entire series. It will take you through a delighful journey that includes history, politics, religion, relationships (between both nations and individuals), science, government, and much more. Don't be surprised if you make some new friends with the characters in the storylines.

Bartlet for President!

Very good series and superb acting. You just have to get through Sorkin's Political Views which run rampant through the West Wing and Newsroom. It is very easy to second guess major events after they happened.

One of the very few shows that didn't go downhill in quality after the 5th season. Their 7th was arguably their best, actually!

All 7 seasons are on Netflix, btw...

for some reason i don't know if its just me but they had a lot of Disney references.

Next to Breaking Bad, it's my absolute favorite drama series. I actually learned so much about politics from watching the show. I miss it so much and I am so glad we have The Newsroom, but nothing compares to The West Wing. Keep with it because each season it gets better and better!:thumbsup2

I love this show and can probably quote episodes from every season, I've watched them so often.

I actually wore out one of my season 2 DVDs.

Enjoy!!

Yikes seriously? No no no no no. It starts going downhill after season 4 (when Sorkin leaves), and season 7 is definitely NOT its best (that would be 1-3). I've never heard of anyone ever with your view point, and I talk about The West Wing a LOT. Lol.

The West Wing (IMO) was some of the best writing on televison. The fast paced dialogue and sarcastic underton eof the show made something that most people don't want to think of as interesting totally fun to watch. I jsut finished watching it (again) on Netfix.

Lawrence O'Donnell is a genius writer and I totally love him! :worship: Aaron Sorkin is also a genius! :worship: I think every season got better and better because you were so invested in all the characters and what happened. There are scenes I can watch over and over again and cry my eyes out or scream at the screen!!!::yes::

Yea, I could have easily stopped watching after season 4, even with the cliffhanger unresolved. But if the show had ended after season 6, that would have been ok too. As much as I liked some of Alan Alda's story, that season wasn't the same show.
