Sun 22nd June
I woke at 5am and unpacked which was strange as Dave has usually unpacked before we wake up Mickey woke the kids at 6.30and we were on the 7.30 bus for MK EE. We went straight to Fantasyland and on Snow White ,Peter Pan T cups Julie bought Chip and Dale on our way to Tomorrowland. Went on TTA ,Buzz Lightyear where we each had our own car . The kids went to check out Space Mountain but the queue was 30 mins so decided to ride another day. We all went to Haunted Mansion again another walk on. Julie is not sure about this and said she doesnt want to go on again. Walked to the mountains next. We were going to get Fast passes but Splash was broken down and the queue was long for Thunder Mountain and the fast passes were an hour away. Gary suggested the train so we did a full circuit, checked out the queues for splash and decided to stay on and got off at Mickeys Toontown . We walked to Carousel of Progress I had seen it was opening today for the summer. It was only 5 past 10 and we walked straight on. I dont think anyone knew it was open. It was spoilt by a woman standing up near the end so they stopped the show until she had sat down again but it meant the last bit was out of sync. Never mind we had seen it loads of times before.
It was getting very hot now and starting to get busy so we headed back to the bus . We saw a gator on the grass near the Coronado Springs so Gary made a mental note never to stay or go there. We took the car (got lost again) and went to Golden Corral With it being Sunday they had the steak on . It was 9.99 each and drinks so the total was $37 which was really good for the amount we all ate. The bourborn chicken was to die for and of course I had to have the banana pudding and lemon meringue pie. The only thing that spoilt it was we had the worst server in history. She took ages to bring the drinks, extra plates and clear the table. At one point she was gone ages and the next table were waiting for clean plates, when I turned round she was having some salad on a table nearby. I know they need to have breaks but I would have thought she would have made sure everyone was well stocked up first. She came back wandered around for a bit not actually doing anything then disappeared again this time I saw her helping herself to food from the buffet. We left without leaving a tip. Gary said I should have left 25 cents just to make a point but I said she wasnt even worth that.
We moved onto the Premium Outlet Mall where it took ages to park . It was drizzling slightly and I think the whole of Orlando had decided to go shopping. We went in loads of shops but only bought 2 tops for Julie at Tommy Hillfinger, and a jacket in the sale for Gary at Ralph Lauren. We called at the Nike shop and bought Dave a vest. It was very hot so decided to go back to the hotel so the kids could go for a swim. It was only 4pm . While the kids were in the pool I went and got our E night tickets for the Tuesday night. What a lovely helpful man George was on the desk. So much different from our server at Golden Corral. Got the kids out of the pool and dressed ready to go to Epcot.
We were out at 7.30 but the bus didnt come until 7.45 and then it went picking up and dropping off at the other AS hotels. We had to drop someone off at Blizzard Beach who were going to play mini golf so it seemed to take ages to get there. We went on Spaceship Earth as soon as we got in as it was a walk on. It broke down . We got out at 8.40 and headed for Mexico for a frozen margaretta. It was packed all the way along and the busiest we had ever seen it. We moved along where there was a bit of a hedge where no one was standing and got a brilliant view ,Saw Reflections and decided we all loved it then had a leisurely stroll out of Epcot back onto the bus and home. We had burgers and cheesy fries from the food court then back to room and bed. We all agreed we had had a good first full day.
