.....has anybody ever eaten there?

If so, your thoughts?

DH and I are going to be in Indy on Friday and Saturday. We are trying to find some where different to eat dinner. I just found this option today.

I pretty much know where we are going to eat lunch on Friday and Saturday, but not sure about dinner.

We have also looked at: Alcatraz Brewing Company, Harry & Izzy's, and Claddagh Irish pub. None of these restraunts are option back in Ft Wayne.

Or if you have any other options, please feel free to suggest. DH is a big time seafood lover and I love steak.

That is one of our what we refer to as treat places. Very good food, but very expensive.

We were just there this spring. Skip the Alcatraz brewery. Not very good at all. Weber was delicious! The atmosphere was nice, but a bit pricey. We also ate at Shula's Steak House. VERY pricey, but AMAZING!!

My family loves the Claddagh in Indy. Atmosphere and food, but then again ... we're Irish.

Do you remember what you have gotten and liked or didn't? I've looked at their menu and the Bacun Agus Cabaiste looks really good to me. Pork, mashed potatoes and cabbage - yummmm.

Claddagh has great fish and chips; I always get a side order of seasoned sour cream (sour cream with a little horseradish mixed in) to go with the chips. The Paddy Mac sandwich is also yummy: corned beef and creamy slaw.

If your husband likes seafood and you want to splurge, Oceanaire is wonderful. It's quite pricey, but their raw oysters are always amazing, and their cooked fish dishes are fab as well.

St. Elmo's is a longtime local favorite for steaks, and their shrimp cocktail is the best I've ever had. If you like spicy food, you have to try it -- the cocktail sauce is loaded with horseradish and makes your eyes water, but you won't be able to stop eating it. You can always stop by the bar at St. Elmo's and just have the shrimp cocktail and a beverage if you don't want a full meal.

Harry and Izzy's is owned by the St. Elmo's folks and is meant to be a more casual version of the original. Some items, like the shrimp cocktail, are available on both menus.

Palomino is a chain place, but a very good one. If the tilapia is on the menu, it is fabulous, as are the pasta dishes there.

If you don't mind going a little north of the immediate downtown area, Mass Ave has several fun eateries, including MacNiven's, a Scottish pub. R Bistro is privately owned (not a chain) and features a menu that changes each week, using fresh, seasonal, local and often organic ingredients. The chef is creative and no matter what is available that week, it will be good.

If you like German food, the Rathskellar restaurant and bar, also on Mass Ave, serves very authentic German dishes and imported beers.

Mass Ave is just a few blocks north of the Washington Street/Meridian Street area of the other restaurants you mentioned. A little far to walk but a very quick drive.

Two other restaurants immediately downtown are Adobo Grill for upscale Mexican and Fogo de Chao, a Brazilian steakhouse. I've been to Adobo a few times and have always enjoyed the food. Haven't made it to Fogo but have heard good things about it from meat lovers. Capital Grill inside the Conrad Hotel is phenomenal -- uber expensive but amazing food and service. (Can you tell I love to eat LOL).
