The "We still need new codes" thread...post here

Well, this is the year we decided that we will buy APs, go in mid-November and then in late October next year. I called my AAA TA over a week ago to see if there were any room only discounts, and she said no deals were out yet for our travel period (November 15-22), but call back on May 11, her contact at Disney told her something big was coming.

Unfortunately, the Fairytale package does nothing for us, since it ends in October. Right now, I have two rooms at Caribbean Beach on hold with Dreams Unlimited for our dates--rack rates of $148 each per night with tax.

I convinced my brother and sister-in-law that I could get a great deal for us and I have to come through!

Please please please let there be good AP codes for November!:(

I have a package on hold (poly GV concierge), will I use it? That remains to be seen....I do like the liberal deposit/cancellation policy. Lets me have my room on hold and gives me some time to wait the code game out.

That said, it is much cheaper for us to go through SoG. Room costs ($819--guaranteed patio :)) and 7 night stars & stripes passes ($1138) come up to a grand total of $1957 grantes, it isn't poly concierge, but I can get a LOT of snacks for $781 :Pinkbounc The package for the WL was actually $70 cheaper than the SoG/Contemporary deal....but it's worth $70 to be on the monorail :) AND we are getting the 6 day PHP from Paramount travel, which brings "my" bottom line down to $5 cheaper than the WL plus I get the breakfast vouchers....

too much work for a vacation, LOL!

FWIW, this deal sucks for the people that like to split their stay.

in keeping with the thread, I would love to see AP or room only codes for this time frame--in my dream world, I could split a stay between the Dolphin and poly concierge. :)

AP holders here too. We are waiting for the end of August. We booked the great deal at Mariott DD since Disney was taking so long with codes so we have 6 nights there all paid for. We wanted to do our last 2 nights at WL so we could be close to do parasailing, a water mouse and the campfire at FW our last few days. I may just book the Mariott for our last 2 nights and not bother with waiting anymore though.

Just bumping this to the front page!

I've been waiting (impatiently...haha!) for codes for our trip July 20-27 also and I'm not too sure but I think this package would save me over $3700 for our trip! I haven't called yet, because I am not a DC member, but I currently have room only reservations for two rooms at the Yacht Club (five of us, 3 teens but all adult tickets and we can't all stay in one room). The cost of the room plus Park Hopper Plus tickets and one AP for me (which I was going to purchase in order to get the good rate on the room if the codes ever came out for this time period) was about $9,200 (no discount on room whatsoever). It seems from the information I've read on other threads that I could probably get this package (Fairytale) and UPH passes (we don't plan on going back anyway in the next year) for about $5500. We do plan on going to parks everyday with the 3 teens and we would probably use at least one water park for part of a day and I'm sure they would want to go to DisneyQuest, which with the PH+ we would have to pay separately for this. Am I missing something or does this seem like it would be a good thing for me?? What would the drawbacks be as far as the cancellation policy and payment policies go, does anyone know that? I know that the days expire on these passes but for that much of a savings I think I might be able to deal with that!

Thanks a bunch!

AP holder and DC member here. This package is ridiculous. It basically is hurting the people disney needs the most, us loyal customers. I agree, there really isn't much of a savings. I am keeping my fingers crossed that something will come out for July.

This lifeboats getting crowded. :)
Welcome aboard puffkin!
We are all waiting and praying and keeping our fingerscrossed. You wouldnt happen to have any chocolate on you would you?:jester:

Again, I agree this package is a great deal, but they're not helping the loyal AP holder or us DVC members either. I have a trip planned for July and am anxiously awaiting AP rates for a few nights at CBR. Hopefully something will come out. I've already locked in a DC discount on the room, now the waiting begins.....

Well, guess I'll join the group - lol

We are DC members, DVC members and AP holders - so this package doesn't work for us.

We are going in July and spending 3 nights at DVC-VWL on points and cash ressie at AKL Concierge for 4 nights - dont want to use points for this portion - but might if no codes come along. Hoping for codes and/or AP discounts to come available for the AKL portion of our stay.

Oh! Ok I see what yall are saying now about the AP passes and this not being a good deal for you. I was just confused..........I guess if you have an AP pass already, why would you also want to pay for UPH passes for your entire stay? We don't get to go as much as we would like to so we are not 'regular' customers (hehe) like you are and I guess if I were then I would already have AP for my whole family! Even though financially this sounds like something I shouldn't pass up........I still am thinking I may be okay with AP rates if they do release some. I hope they do soon!

I was so disappointed to read about this latest discount!:( I have APs and was really looking for a good deal for our 7/26-8/3 stay. Now I'll have to wait and see. I have already booked a room at the ASM and DS and I are splitting the cost of our room with a friend and her DS. Still, you can't blame me for wanting to get the price down as far as I can, can you?;)

TC

Welcome to our lifeboat!:smooth:
We are all waiting to be rescued with some kind of RO code or AP rate.
I think they should have something soon( ;) It says here in fine print!;) ).
Ill take any crumb they will throw me at this point!:p

BTW: DOES ANYONE HAVE CHOCOLATE? :teeth:

I'm still waiting for codes for October for the 2 extra days I need in addition to my package. If the code rates are better (& who knows, they may be) I'll just cancel the one I made today. Based on my calculations for this package & previous codes I think the codes (if they come) may be better.

Include me in the lifeboat......

We actually are buying AP's for the first time this year.
I am going to hold out for the codes. As I posted on the "summer codes are on the way" thread....the CM said, "other codes would be out this week and the AP rate would be the same as it was for early summer. $74 for mods. tax not inluded. "

Then you read on other threads what CM's have told others.

I like to look at it as "the glass is half full" and lets hope the AP rate does come out.

Figures, the first time we are planning to buy AP's , it is not as "clear - cut" as it was in years past. Now I see what the rest of you are saying about AP holders getting the short end of the deal.

I am so disappointed and probably to blame for this fiasco. It is my first time buying an AP so of course they will change the way that they give deals...it is very typical of my luck. :(

I worry about the impression that Mary from Mousesavers had regarding the slim possibility of room only discounts. I have seriously considered just taking a room at the Swan or Dolphin. I really hate waiting for these codes!

I was seriously considering getting AP's (still am). I am sure that also contributed to the current situation. My instinct is telling me to forget this fairytale, get the AP's and stay at the Dolphin with a AAA discount and be done with it. It would cost a little more than what I was quoted for 9 nights at WL woods view but at least I would have AP's for next summer and then there is that pesky problem that my nine year old will be ten next year...........

I just want to say that I also really dislike this latest discount. While it is great for those that can use it, most people don't have time to go to Disney for a week. Plus the UPHs are almost guarenteed to lose you money. They just keep getting cheaper and cheaper on us....

No one seems to know when the current offer for AP discount rates on rooms is going to expire. Does anyone have that information? It would at least give us an idea of when to begin to get hopeful to see new discounts...if there will be any. :(

I dont know the answer either, so I am bumping this up.
Maybe someone else knows.

Anybody?

The Ap rates expire July 3rd according to Mousesavers. You can book a room up until that day with the current AP rates available.
I think it will be sometime in June (probably later June:( ) before the new AP rates will be released.

Call me an optimist, but I still think there will be AP rates. If there isn't I will be writing a letter to express my disappointment in buying APs for my entire family, and planning more trips in one year.
While I know there are no guarantees for room discounts, one of the reasons I decided to purchase them was based on the fact that historically (including currently) there have been great discounts on the rooms.
