The Wave for breakfast...

I prefer the Capt's Grille Buffet or Trails End. We find the the wave to be a noisy cave and the food just ok.

I just ate breakfast at the Wave and loved the buffet so much that I went back another day. It included much more than I've seen listed on any of the 'menus' ---- fresh cantaloupe, honeydew, strawberries, grapes, raspberries, blueberries, 2 kinds of yogurt, smoked salmon and all that accompany it (onions, chopped egg, etc), deli ham, cheeses, cottage cheese, oatmeal, a couple of dry cereals, multiple mini-muffins and pastries, bagels/toast, eggs benedict (not that good when I tried it --- eggs were overdone and muffin stuck to the bottom and was soggy), biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, Mickey waffles, sweet potato pancakes (which were wonderful with the honey pecan butter and WARM syrup), hash brown casserole with cheese, two kinds of frittata (one made with egg whites). The quality of the food was quite good, for a buffet. If something was almost gone, I simply didn't take that at the time and went back when it was replaced. The cost was either $22 or $23 and included coffee/milk/soda and juice. AND .... neither of my 2 servers told me this, but a server told the table next to me that they could order eggs cooked to order if they didn't want scrambled.
It seems like a lot of $$$ to me for breakfast, but the variety and quality made it worth it to me. I believe there was a sign that said only the buffet was available after 11 AM. (PS --- the made to order breakfasts of omelets with potatoes looked very good to me!)

So the buffet had the eggs benedict and the sweet potato pancakes on it? I thought those were just a la carte. I was confused about the Wave menu. It doesn't state the items on the buffet on the Disney website. I see the a la carte menu ends at 11 and then it is only buffet until 11:45am.

3 weeks ago today, we ate at The Wave for breakfast, and they had both sweet potato pancakes and eggs benedict on the buffet.

Thanks - I wish Disney's site would explain it better. Was the food good? We are deciding between the Wave and Chef Mickey's. We would like the character interaction but not necessary since we have other character meals. We really want good food.

The food is much better at The Wave than it is at CM's, in our opinion. Plus, it's half the price. You don't have the characters, but if you've already got several other character meals planned, I would definitely skip CM in favor of The Wave.

Thanks, that is what I was thinking but I haven't eaten at either of them. Will go make the ADR. Thanks again!

I've had the eggs benedict off the menu and off the buffet. I agree with kda about the quality of them on the buffet. Not that good. But off the menu, they were excellent. You can purchase other things to go with them, but you don't get the buffet offerings if you order off the menu.

My opinion: if you eat quite a lot for breakfast then the buffet at the Wave is an excellent choice.

I, however, tend to have a small breakfast and the buffet was too expensive to consider. I ate off the a la carte menu and enjoyed what I was served. Hubby had the buffet and really enjoyed it - but his plate was piled high because he can eat probably 3x what I can.
