We have 2 ADRs for the Wave, as reviews say the breakfast buffet is very tasty.
However, I could not find the buffet items listed anywhere;

I found pics of hard-boiled eggs, but no mention in any reviews of any other kind of egg in the buffet
I saw pics of pastries & cold items such as salmon.

I can't even tell if the buffet has any potato item!!
We like our eggs & potatoes, lol.

Has anyone done their breakfast buffet?!
What hot items did they have--or none?!

I know we could skip the buffet & get our hot eggs & potatoes(I assume) that way,
but we really enjoy the a -little-bit-of-this, a-little -bit-of-that
with a buffet.
Thanks.

We have eaten breakfast buffet there at least 5 times and love it! They have scrambled eggs, hard boiled and seems like eggs another way too(I only eat them scrambled so a little vague on the other ways). They will also fix you a made to order from buffet omelet(I think). They also have hot potatoes. Most of their food items are hot, though the y do have a good selection of fruits as well. My advice...go and give it a try, don't think you will be disappointed. To me, its a hidden gem. Another great breakfast buffet close by is Trails End.

They change it up.

Don't worry; they don't get good reviews by only having salmon and hard boiled eggs. :)

@jon18uk , My mouth is watering after seeing that pic of one of my fave egg dishes--
Wow!! Those egg be nedicts with the key lime hollandaise!

Oh, and they have sweet potato pancakes.
I could be in pancake heaven.

Boma , even with the awesome 50 plus breakfast buffet items,
does not have those scrumptious-looking sweet potato pancakes,
nor any egg be nedicts.

Scrambled for hubby,
albeit sans goat cheese & chakalaka.

We've had breakfast at the Wave several times. Most recently just two weeks ago. There are definitely more than just hard-boiled eggs on the buffet. Typically there are scrambled eggs and eggs benidict as well. Often some other egg dish too. There are also breakfast potatoes for sure.

Suggestion: Go with the Wave. When you get there you can take a look at the buffet before you order so you can decide then if its better to pick something off the menu.

We had breakfast at the Wave this July. In addition to the buffet items, the server asked if we'd like to order specially prepared eggs. I asked for 2 over-medium eggs. When the eggs came, the whites were runny (over easy, or less) and I sent the eggs back. The waiter was rude, he said, "exactly how did you want them this time." Aargh. I said, "the same as I ordered them the first time - over medium which means soft yolk and hard white." Anyway, the second time was the charm. The restaurant was nearly empty, only 4 tables. The buffet did have very nice selections, but I was not overly impressed, probably because of the poor service.

Here is my plate from our visit in April. In the top corner is Key Lime Eggs Benedict which was delicious.

Also some scrambled eggs on my daughters plate.

I hope you enjoy. We aren't really buffet fans, but really did enjoy The Wave

Wow @kastoney. BTW, I very much enjoyed reading your family's trip dining reports :)
Knowing your family knows/loves good food--your husband is a Chef, no ?!--
means we won.t be disappointed :)

Now I am trying to remember what entree you shared with your precious daughter there, lol. Oh, forgot, with the buffet.

I absolutely loved your Dining Reports.
What an awesome daughter you have, and my, what an adventurous eater!

They would from me. Especially the part about having a quiet, serene breakfast without the boisterousness of kids fighting over their Fruit Loops or the smell of bacon grease permeating the air.

As long as they have capers. You've got to have capers. And a freshly baked bagel.

Darn. Now I need to plan another trip to NYC.

The Wave breakfast buffet is great. The service can be a bit slow (like most places) even when it is not busy, but the buffet helps alleviate some of the waiting. My only complaint is the key lime hollandaise on the eggs Benedict-a bit too strong a flavor for the eggs, but with so many other choices to pick from I can easy avoid them.

Thanks for the heads up about the key lime hollandaise sauce being too strong tasting, @LowesChevy .
I have to confess, my favorite part of enjoying even scrambled eggs,
is dousing my favorite breakfast protein with a side or 2 of hollandaise!!

So, though not a deal breaker,
I will test the hollandaise, before " dousing ".

Yeah, what's "broken" about hollandaise sauce that it needs to be "fixed" with key lime? ;)

I've found the Eggs Benedict on the buffet line to be soggy, not crisp like off the menu. Since that's what I want for breakfast, I order off the menu. I didn't have any problem with the hollandaise sauce, though. It tasted fine to me. And it was already on the eggs, not a side to put more or less on if you chose.

Thanks @Deb & Bill . I prefer crisp to soggy.
Oh, well.
Maybe I will just order the eggs Benedict off of the menu, then. And ask for a side of the hollandaise, please.
If potatoes come with, then that's more than enough for me :)

In my opinion there is absolutely no such thing as great food at a buffet regardless if it's breakfast, lunch or dinner. I'd actually go as far to say most buffets are terrible with mass made food sitting on serving stations to be consumed in large quantities by a large group of people in a short period of time. It's quantity over quality. But with that said, there are some buffets that have average quality food overall and an occasional item that stands out. For me, The Wave for breakfast is one of the better buffets in a sea of failures. I've always found the food fresh, at least average, quiet, the station clean and the service good.

The potatoes are not hash browns, but more of a cubed breakfast potato. But good.
