Has anyone eaten at The Wave lately? How about Boatwrights?
We just really read about The Wave for this trip. We are so much
creatures of habit, going to the same places each time, but would like to try something new.
What is your opinion of these restaurants?
Thank you so much.:cool2:

The Wave was on our list for September until we had to cancel our trip. :sad2:

I've read great reviews of The Wave and that is why we were anxious to try it.

We went to Boatwright's two years ago and did not care for it at all (although we love the POR's food court). The service was terrible (over 35 minutes after our adr to be seated) and our waitress had no personality whatsoever--said the minimum she needed to say; the food was mediocre at best (I sent mine back twice). My DH who is NOT fussy at all and can eat just about anything did not care for his meal at all. That being said, if it is convenient for you, I always tell people they should try everything themselves because we all have different tastes. I was told NOT to try Mama Melrose or Liberty Tree Tavern and we thoroughly enjoy both; I was encouraged to go to WCC and it was one of three restaurants at Disney we won't go back to--horrible!

We ate at The Wave 3 times when we were there in February staying at the CR. 2 times we had meals there, and one time just coffee/dessert - late night. We just walked up and didn't have ADRs... they were just times when we'd gotten back to our hotel and weren't in the mood to go out again (me, MIL and my DD4). One time we were supposed to go to California Grill but my daughter was hungry RIGHT away and our ADR was for later so we canceled that and did Wave.

Each time our meals were really delicious and the service was excellent. I had a crab cake appetizer that was YUMmy and the trios of desserts were really fun to share and splurge with.

I'd definitely go back there and not just because we were staying in the CR!!!

We ate at the Wave back in August. It was great. I say definately go here. Boatwright were eating this August.

I stay at POR every year. Boatwright's has become a huge disappointment. For a moderate resort, their dinner entrees are so overpriced and you don't get soup, salad, or a vegetable. Just a piece of filet sitting in a bed of cheddar mashed potatoes. Don't get me wrong; it was one of the best pieces of filet I have had in a long time. Their pecan pie is to die for, but you can get it at the bakery in the food court and take it back to your room.

I would consider the Wave instead and bypass Boatwright's altogether. I am very disappointed now that they have closed for breakfast and never had opened for lunch - but I love the resort so much, I am staying.

You can get a meal for the same prices, with all the fixings, at any other restaurant and it will be just as good, if not better.
