The Walking Dead on AMC

My DH had a great theory on the gang that's coming. What if the leader is Merle? That would put a nice spin on things, with Daryl becoming a nice tough guy, not just a jerk tough guy.

I do think that Merle will re-enter the storyline at some point, but I'm not sure it will be as a member of this group. Based on what the guys in the bar and this prisoner have said, it seems like this group is coming from somewhere up North which would make it unlikely that Merle would be among them.

It was the "Talking Buzz" segment on last nights "Talking Dead". Co-Executive Producer Greg Nicotero who also directed the episode said this about last nights walker, "this is the first shirtless zombie in The Walking Dead". So I'm curious to know what their definition is for "shirtless" :confused3

I saw that last night too. That is why my son commented on well walker. Of course, they classified Shane running with his shirt unbuttoned as being "shirtless".

I think Randall is bad, or at least his allegiance is still with his group although they left him for dead. I base my opinion on what he said to Carl in the barn. I don't think anything good will come of him being left alive, though I do not believe I could have killled him in cold blood. They should have just left him on the fence and been done with him.

I too do not like Carl's behavior, but the kid has been through a heck of a lot and I think he really misses Sophia and having someone else his age to pal around with.

Carl drives me nuts. Why is it that the world is full of crazy Dead Walkers and this kid has the nerve to walk in the woods? Where in the world are his parents? I just wanted to scream at him when he was yelling at Carol.

They just let this kid wonder around by himself. I was kinda hopeing that the walker would bite Carl and he would turn and then go back to camp and Bite Lori. And Shane would have to kill Lori and they would lock Carl in the barn. And when he was back talking Carol I wanted somebody to wash his mouth out with soap!

Looking at the previews from next week, though, where Shane comes running back to the barn with a bloody face telling everyone that Randall hit him and got away..... I don't buy it. I think that's just another "Otis-esque" story that he's telling everyone to get everyone to think Randall was evil and he was right for wanting him dead. Randall has said some really stupid things, but I wouldn't be surprised if Randall was an okay guy, and if Shane just took Randall out into the woods and did something to him.... because I think Shane is a very devious person, and has proved that on more than one occasion.

It's fiction, I know, but if Carl were my kid he would have a more structured day with maybe schooling and CHORES. And he wouldn't be out wandering the land by himself.

The walker in the well was a "floater," not a "walker," so maybe that's why he wasn't listed a being shirtless. :lmao::lmao:

I had thought that Carl was going to shoot Randall to prove himself as a "grown-up."

Randall heard Shane's plan, so if Shane finds out about that, Randall will really be in trouble. I think maybe that piece of information is the only thing that will keep Randall alive.....at least for now.

I would like to know how Rick became the designated "leader" of this group.

Especially considering that he arrived well after the group was formed.

Maybe it was the badge and sheriff's uniform?

I was surprised nobody seemed concerned about where he was. It seemed like he was gone for a long time out running in the woods. I agree that there would be plenty of things to do around a working farm like that. He wouldn't be getting a lot of time to go get into trouble if he was mine child.

That would support the theory that the group will encounter a larger group and the leader of that group will have Rick's hand amputated. Maybe a little payback from Merle for having to cut his hand off to get off the roof in ATL?

I'm officially done with this show. They are bringing in David Morrissey as The Governor. Hated that storyline in the comics.

Ok this is what I heard too. I heard that they were definitely leaving the farm and that the governor was going to take Shane's place as Rick's antagonist. (Sorry ladies...the eye candy is being killed off).
Actually Shane should've been killed off earlier according to the comic books but i heard that there was a change in directors and that they weren't sure which direction the show was going to go in. So look for shane to be killed off in the last 2 episodes.
I heard that Shane (well the dude that plays Shane) is going to be on another show about a sheriff or something.

I see no sense in killing off Shane. He's a great antagonist.

I agree. For people that have read the comics, is the show deviating a lot? or is it following the storyline in the books?
just curious
for the show I think Shane is good, and I hate to see him killed.

Well, I wasn't going to go there with that big spoiler, but yes, Jon Bernthal is scheduled to play the lead in LA Noir. It's no longer a big secret that Shane is leaving... This was spoiled by AMC recently when they posted their synopsis for the DVD release of season 2. He's going to go in this next episode, supposedly. I have no idea how they're gonna top that in the finale!

Well if what I heard was true, Shane (I don't know his real name) is going to be on another pilot show about a sheriff of some sort so he won't be on both shows.
I will try to find out where my husband read all of that information. He is a real Walking Dead freak so he reads everything he can about the show. If I can get a link from him I will post it. :goodvibes

Next episode, awww crap!!!! I was hoping that his demise would be the big boom in this season's last episode.

I really hate to see him leave:sad1:

Ok, as someone who has not read the comics, and I don't want to know EVERYTHING, but who is the Governor supposed to be? Is it a real governor that is on the run like the rest of them, although somewhat bad from what I gather? Or just someone who wants to be called governor?

Even though I have come to not like Shane very much, I'll be sad to see him go. I think half of why I hated him was Lori driven, I think she made him nuts! :dance3:

As for leaving the farm, I hope Maggie goes with Glenn and they don't kill Glenn off. That would stink

Oh, wow I had not heard that. :scared1: You are right that it would be sweet revenge for Merle.
