I just saw last nights show. Daryl is starting to be my favorite, it's funny cause last season he was my most hated. I love how he has so many layers. He's a great character. I'm so ready for Sophia to be found. I keep waiting for her to just come out of the woods. Enough is enough. One way or the other the truth needs to come out about what happened to her. The sight of Shane bothers me. Total wack job. What in the world is with the barn full of walkers? I can't wait to see next weeks show!

Yes Shane is a scary one :scared1: he gives me the creeps in the way he will kill anyone that get is his way.....even a woman.

Agreed....find Sophia.....would have been good if when Daryl woke up the zombie that was chewing on his leg was her....sorry but I thought that would have taken it to another level....mostly if he was forced to have to kill her. after all she is no longer really a child anymore.

if they are going to find her alive than the time has come....maybe when they are in the town next week they will find her and rescue her from the zombies.

was the younger man the son that was in tonight's episode? He asked to go along on the search? and there was young girl with blond hair, she came to get rick and said " my dad wants to talk to you"
I don't remember from the episode where they carried Carl onto the porch.

In the episode when Rick ran Carl to the farm house, the farm family met him on the porch. The younger girl in the ponytail and the young man never had a speaking part, not were they seen in the rest of that episode. They were not seen in the next episode either. It was explained in Sunday night's episode that the young man is (I can't remember which) a neighbor or friend. Doc said in one of the other episodes that his wife and step son were taken by the epidemic, but his daughters were spared. So, I am assuming all the women in the house are his daughters, unless one of them is his step daughter and he just has not given that much detail yet.

My thoughts on the episode this week. Sorry, it's long:

I was totally floored by the number of zombies in the barn. I was expecting 2, the wife and stepson, and perhaps 4 or 5 to include a few of the friends and neighbors he had mentioned in the other episode that had been lost. Never did I expect to see the entire community. How did they get all those zombies in the barn? That took some thought.

The doc is still acting very stern in his decision to not allow anyone to stay for an extended period. He is not liking his loss of control over his own daughters. He is already suspicious of Glenn and Maggie. He isn't feeling comfortable with his younger daughter and the young neighbor/friend being so close. He has reminded Maggie that the visitors are not staying. He seems to act like this is not the first visitors they have had. What do you think he would/has done with those who refuse to leave? Is he feeding the zombies? I keep thinking Glenn and this young guy in the house are treading dangerous waters and if doc knew what Shane did to Otis, he would be in danger too. If everyone makes it out of there alive, without becoming food for wifey and junior, I think the young man staying with doc, getting a little overly friendly with doc's younger daughter, just might be hitching a ride off the farm...if he knows what is best for him. If doc is feeding the zombies, it seems the only safe way to do so is to drag whatever up the ladder and chuck it off the loft. Since so far, the zombies need live food, maybe they are drugging whatever to get them up the ladder. Which leads me to ask about the preview for next week. What is that in the wheel barrow the woman is pushing toward the barn?

What's the deal with doc mentioning the antibiotics in every episode? I understand that in each episode, yet another in the group gets wounded, requiring antibiotics, but I have a feeling doc's verbal reminder might mean a little more. I still feel like he is hoping to save the antibiotics for the zombies or something. Then, I wonder about Lori. I don't think she wants this pregnancy. Of course, who would. Anyway, with doc having knowledge of drugs, I wonder if perhaps she might try to speak to him about drugs that could terminate a pregnancy.

Daryl is the man! That mini commercial cliffhanger was too much! he was so primal in this episode and Sophia's mom was like the encouragement he desperately needed. I see a special bond developing between them. I wonder if this will be more friend, mother/child, or romantic in nature? They really need to find Sophia. Carl needs to get better and someone needs to keep the guns away from Andrea. Shane is still going off the deep end. What is Glenn going to do now that he knows about the zombies in the barn?

Interesting observation this week: I assume that was the generator powering the house, but we have never heard it before now.

I can't wait for next week. If it is as good as this week, it is worth watching!

I'd like to know how he got in the barn....it had a lock on it...did he break it? Who does that at someone's house?[/QUOTE]

I assume you are talking about Glenn? There was a ladder on the outside of the barn giving access to the loft. I was a little afraid he was going to try to find a crawl space under the wall, or hear a noise and try to dig his way under or something.

I shutter to think that Sofia is one of the walkers in the barn

I hope a cute girl come along for Daryl, I am starting to really like him. I don't like what's her face, and I hope it only turns out to be a mother/son relationship, not a romantic one, but it looks like it's heading in that direction.

Shane is really disturbing me, he seems to just be really losing touch with reality. I think a few more episodes and he is gonna crack again, majorly. I think somone should put a bullet in him before he starts reeking havoc on them.

Oh no doubt. Shane is gonna SNAP but after he finds out Lori is pregnant. That's gonna be some INTENSE scenes!

I just watched this week's episode last night and have a question.

When Darryl came to and saw a zombie rather than the vision of his brother, hadn't the zombie taken a bite out of him? I thought that was what had happened? Wouldn't he then be infected? Maybe I misunderstood what happened, but it sounded like the zombie was about to start chomping on his leg.

I'm another one that doesn't want to see Darryl killed off!

I think the zombie was biting his shoe

I was under the impression that he bit his boot. The walker didn't break the skin

How is the "Zombie" virus actually transmitted. I ask this because we've heard that bites will do it, scratches will do it, there was concern about the water supply, etc.... do we really know how this works?

:eek:Wow, I had not thought of that as a possibility.

LIke the others said, the zombie was gnawing on the end of Daryl's boot. Should be a good lesson on the importance of sturdy boots. Now is not the time for sandals. In fact, aside from the fact that the weight would slow me down, I would be wishing for some of that woven metal clothing that shark hunters and knights wear. Maybe even consider wearing some leather gloves.

When Daryls was hallucinating about Merle, I thought for sure when "Merle" moved Daryl's face from side to side it was a walker touching him. Hind sight, I doubt a walker would stop to check for a pulse. ;) That was one dumb walker. The others seem to jump right in on ears and arms. That second zombie was downright frightening! I gotta say bravo to the makeup artists on this show. The quality is better than many theatrical movies.

We know nothing else. The scientist at he CDC did not say much either.

Interestingly enough in all the zombie movies I have ever seen they have never really explained what cuases it other than getting bit. What's the real cause? Kinda like the chicken/ egg thing what comes first?

I unfortunately gave into my urges and asked a guy at work who is way off into Zombies some questions about how the show is following the comic. He said you really don't want to know but I pressed him and conviced him to spill the beans, so he did.

I must admit I was disappointed in what he told me and will continue to watch the show and hope the writers from the show deviate from the comic.

Nuff said about that.

This is the main reason why I only talk about this show here. I am so afraid someone is going to spill the beans and I prefer to guess and see for myself. I do watch Talking Dead each week and from what I gather, things are not following the books directly. Andrea apparently is supposed to be this super expert shot and the main shooter in the group, but until now, she has been portrayed as on the verge of a breakdown. I think they also said Daryl isn;t even a book character.

I agree about the movies. They never really say what causes the virus. I just recently started watching them because I was so much of a chicken before. Of the ones I have seen, there is never a cure. They just say don't get bitten or scratched. One was about some people in a mall and the pregnant woman got bitten, turned into a zombie, then she gave birth to a zombie. Maybe that could happen to Lori.

As a fan of the comics, I will say that after the crapshow that True Blood has become, I HOPE that the Walking Dead sticks to the comics. They are awesome!

I agree with others, Sophia needs to be found, this has dragged on too long. I don't know why but I feel they will find her alive.

I suspect that one of the walkers in the barn is Glenn's girlfriends husband (can't think of her name). I think they are family/friends/townsfolk and I believe Hershel is using the antibiotics trying to create a cure for them. I think they are feeding them something from that wheelbarrow.

Andrea really annoys me and Shane is just plain crazy. I too like Daryl which comes as quite a surprise as I could not stand him or his brother last season. I like Glenn and T.Dog as well.

I think this is the best zombie production I have ever seen, the character development is great and the make-up is top notch.

Does anyone else hate Lori? I mean, how long could Rick possibly have been "dead" for when she hooked up with Shane? She sure got over the "death" of her husband in a hurry.

Just a reminder for Walking Dead fans that we have 2 episodes left for this "half" of the season. The plan is to go on Winter hiatus and then return in February for the 2nd half of Season 2.

Things are heating up and, if the comics are to be followed, they are approaching a perfect part to break this season in half.
