I don't know if I'd take Rick's comment that Lori is always mad as necessarily indicating anything. Our joke here is always who will Lori yell at next.

I agree that there is the possibility of an earlier affair between Shane and Lori though...

If I recall correctly, in the very first episode before Rick is shot, he and Shane are sitting in the car discussing how Rick's marriage is not going so well and Shane says something to the effect about Lori being great and he should be happy with a woman like that. I only saw the episode once on it's original air date so I may be way off but that is what I remember.

Looke up the synopsis from IMDB - FLASHBACK: Rick and his partner Shane discuss the differences between men and women while eating lunch in their cruiser. Rick talks of his wife Lori and son Carl. Apparently, the couple had a fight the night before. "It's like she's pissed at me all the time and I don't know why," Rick explains to Shane. The pair then gets an urgent call.

Maybe I am imagining Shane's comments but it still seems to me like he said something of that sort. I am wondering as a pp said if she and Shane were already involved. Maybe someone that reads the comics has some knowledge of that?

I read the comics, and from what I can remember they tell the story that the Lori & Shane hooked up due to the stress of Rick's coma and the circumstances.

The show, however, DOES seem to imply that this may have started before Rick's coma. This would be a deviation from the original comics, if this were true.

Good episode tonight even without much Daryl. I liked Lori much more than usual but Andrea can still take a hike.

What has happened to this series? I fondly remember season one, and continue to try to into this season. I actually groaned when they announced next week marks mid-season.

Has this series even progressed at all? The characters are getting so one dimensional and boring.

I can't stand Carol...and she pisses me off in a huge way. GET YOUR BUTT OUT THERE AND HELP FIND YOUR DAUGHTER!!!!!!!

Yeah, yeah, someone mentioned in and earlier post how she came from an abusive relationship. How does that determine that she let's everyone else go out there and put their life on the line for Sohia while she sits on her butt?

As a mother, this justs bugs the hell out of me week after week.

Carl must have superhero powers. He is up and dressed and shooting a gun all in the same time that T-Dog still has his arm bandaged. I would really love a timeline in this show, but it seems like they are purposely keeping one from us. Rick aksed Lori how long she has known about her pregnancy..he asks "weeks, days?" I got excited! I was thinking, here we go...and she didn't answer him!!!! WTH?

Last night when they were going through the homes in the subdivision to look for the girl, it sure seemed like they went into the first house then had to make a run for it. Even though they said they were going to start at one end and work their way through the entire place. I'll have to watch it again. I'm beginning to get bored with the show... I hope they can pick up the pace again.

I think that he was just joking. For reasons I don't understand, he seems to really like Andrea.
I think he sees her as a daughter.

I remember that as well.

I am also getting bored and want the sophia story to resolve. and yes Carol get OUT THERE AND HELP!

It is not possible for me to hate Lori anymore. It is not even because of the affair. She is just so self-consumed. Hate her!

Shane is disgusting and disturbed.

Really do not like Andrea.

Love Glen!!

Daryl is by far my fave.

Dale is a bit annoying.

The rest aren't in it enough to formulate my opinion, but for the love of pete just let us know what happens with Sophia.

We need new characters that we actually care if they get eaten.

I must be different because I've been relieved that they are finally working on character development lately. The show was all about action at first but I do think that we have to get to know the characters before they can really move forward. I think that things will change next week.

Shane is interesting and is being portrayed by a fine actor. He's disturbed and complex and we're really enjoying him. Daryl is great (I'm looking forward to Merle coming back) and Rick will be interesting again (I hope) once he shakes the after effects of what happened. More orange juice! Lori showed more of a human side finally and Glen is a hoot. I find the farm owner interesting. Dale is also being portrayed by a good actor.

Just my take and personally I hope that we see even more character interaction. I do believe that something big is likely to happen when they get to midseason next week.

imho....what character development? Yes, maybe we have a better insight on Daryl, but everyone else is very one dimensional.

I would like new characters entering the mix. Bring back the father and son from the first season.

They need to leave the farm. I see why I would hate country life, a trip to the pharmacy is the only exciting thing happening in this place.

The worst character by far is Lori. I hate her with a passion. I kept saying "throw her in barn, Rick" duirng their little exchange by the fence. :lmao:

My husband and I discussed the possibilty that Shane only took Andrea to the neighborhood to get her to shoot a walker. She was not doing it in the woods and he was mad, so he made up a story to get her to try it out in real time. It's a theory. He had no "information" about Sophie being in that neighborhood specifically.

:thumbsup2

You are correct. In fact, Andrea even said, "I don't think Sophie was ever here."

Since everyone's talking about who they like and "hate"....I can't stand Andrea. I haven't liked her at any point, last season or this season. She's annoying and stupid. I also don't like Shane. I think he is bad news! He is getting ready to crack and totally lose it. Dale is annoying at times, but he has a lot a good stuff to say and he is encouraging to others, at least in my opinion. Lori drives me crazy, but I don't hate her. I am okay with Rick too. Carol is too depressing and that has become annoying to me, she needs to help look for her daughter. I love Darryl! And Glen!

I see a lot of complexity in Shane. He might not be likable but he's interesting IMO. Lori is also showing more of herself than just a screaming shrew lately. I like that even if she's not likable. I feel like I understand a little more about why she is the way she is. I also suspect that we're not supposed to like her or Shane at this point. Even Glen is getting to be featured more. I think that he's adorable.

I do agree that they need to leave the farm. Soon I expect.

That makes perfect sense! :thumbsup2

It's a little funny that one of the fan favorites is turning out to be Daryl, the crazy redneck survivalist.

Lori really wasted some very valuable medication in this episode. I hate to admit it, but all I could think of was rinse, dry, and save them for later. Gross I know, but now is not the time to be picky or wasteful. Andrea better be careful or she will be making that decision too. That Andrea is a woman who knows what she wants and isn't shy about pursuing it.

I guess the folks in that neighborhood were lazy. As zombies they did not move very fast compared to the school, woods, and Atlanta zombies.

Has anyone watched the webisodes? Interesting glimpse into the initial chaos of the outbreak.

That's funny, because my husband said the same thing. Actually, he said all the women would end up pregnant with all the unprotected sex going on.
