The Walking Dead on AMC

Before Rick is drained dry, isn't there a person in that house that can ask "Does anyone here have O- type?"

Andrea could benefit from Daryl's stash.

With all the abandoned cars, why is everyone still driving old, potentially unreliable cars? Even the new people at the farm are driving that old pick up.

One more thing. The car seat image was disturbing. Isn't it interesting how just one image doesn't require anything more to create a scene in your own mind of what happened?

There are two threads about this show going on right now. Oh, well.

Last night at the high school when Shane and Redneck Guy were trying to get the medical stuff: Those walkers really WERE moving pretty fast! I also prefer my zombies to be staggering, stomping slowpokes, not all nimble like these new fangled zombies. Also, the old-style zombies had a heightened sense of smell, but these walkers (Or runners. Sometimes.) do not seem to have it. Remember when TDog cut his arm and it was spurting blood like a garden hose? Those zombies in the herd barely took notice.

That last scene last night with all those zombies pushing on that gate and the pin shaking precariously..... terrifying. Oh, one more thing. I'm so glad they found the farmhouse and those nice people. Now they can take showers. I swear I can smell them through the tv, especially Rick.

The scene with T-Dog is what left me confused about what attracts the zombies. In the first season the reason for Rick and Glenn covering themselves with zombie guts was to remain undetected by the zombies because of the human smell attracted them. Then, in that same scene, when the rain came and the zombie guts washed off them, the zombies went all feeding frenzy.

That is why when T-Dog got the blood waterfall coming from that gash on his arm, I was sure the zombies would have stopped and ran for him. Even though a dead zombie was thrown on him and he lay still on the ground, I would think the zombies could have noticed the smell of the blood.

I would also like to comment on the herd in that episode. They were walking all unstable, almost dragging their feet, yet later on, there are zombies running through the woods like crazed men. The episode last night had zombies running around the outside of the hospital. Are there degrees of disability that comes with how long one has been a zombie?

Also, they seemed sensitive to sound, even the smallest noise, such as when Andrea was in the camper bathroom last episode and tinkered with the gun parts. Yet, last night in the scene at the hospital, Shane and that guy who shot Carl (can't remember his name) were hiding behind that car and then opened the creeking door, made a loud noise as the trunk opened, and no zombies noticed. Either I am not understanding what attracts the zombies, or there is a rash of inconsistencies.

Simply put, yes. I've always followed the lore that if someone who is highly athletic becomes a zombie, then they will retain a certain element of that as they begin to decay. Thus, they could possibly run you down soon after being turned.

We really haven't been given much background to how the zombies in the WD work. It's possible since the virus affects the brain, that there may not be a disconnect to the muscular structure, thus, again, a former track athlete may still be pretty fast on their zombie feet.

Am I the only one who thinks the people in tonights episode were just a little too relaxed hanging outside the farm house in the dark? Is there some invisible force field that keeps zombies off the farm? Glenn and the new woman talking about religion, Rick and Lori talking about purpose for living, Shane leaning inured against the vehicle. Nobody was outside on watch. I would be inside with the front door definitely closed and locked.

You aren't the only one. The whole world is crawling with walkers and it's just a little too quiet on that farm.

It's quiet and they're distracted and that's probably why they seem relaxed. The zombies aren't consistent but seem to be somewhat noisy most of the time.

Wow, what an ending tonight. Yeesh!

Yes! Predicted what happened at the school yet hard to watch. I commented to dh that I wouldn't be outside on that porch in the middle of the night with walkers out who knows where! I think the farm has some kind of gate around it? I guess they think that protects them?

Another solid episode. I tell you, this is definitely becoming one of my favorite shows!

My biggest gripe seems to be with the night shots. I've got the brightness turned up on my tv but sometimes it's still hard to see what is going on in some of those night time shots!

Not sure how many people have read the comics, but if they follow the same storyline about the Farmhouse, then there is a reason it is so quiet. Just wait. :thumbsup2

I think Shane is seriously losing it. What an absolutely awful thing to have done to Otis, or curtis, whatever his name was. I hope a walker takes him out soon. He annoys me more than Andrea does, and Andrea really annoys me!

I love, love, love this show! I'm glad to see there's a thread about it

I haven't read the comic but according to some who have, AMC has already made some significant changes to the comic storyline.

If I had the willpower, I think would just wait til the end of the season and watch all of the episodes back to back. It's tough to watch an hour at a time, only to wait a week for the next hour.

I've read them, and they have changed a lot. I have a feeling, though, since they included the group at the Farmhouse, they are going to keep that whole storyline.

Oh your killin' me here! I haven't read the comics! Can you PM why that place is so quiet?

I couldn't believe Shane didn't at least put Otis out of his misery before the Zombies got him. That was beyond cruel!

Shane needed Otis to be "live" bait for the zombies in order to get away, hence the shot to the leg. If he had just killed him, the zombies wouldn't have been interested in Otis anymore. I agree with you that it was beyond cruel, especially since Otis saved Shane's life several times moments before.

Oh glad I found this thread I love this show. This was a great episode. I feel like something snapped in Shane this week. It happened before the stuff with Otis though. He looked like things were changing in his head when he got out of the gym before Otis saved him he looked to me like he might just give up and let the walkers have him. I don't feel like Shane would have done that to Otis though if they had been trying to save anyone else. The fact that he and Lori kind of had a family dynamic going before Rick showed up made him willing to do anything for Carl.
I am seriously wondering where Sophia is. I don't have great hopes that they will find her.
