The Walking Dead on AMC

Yeah since I don't have AMC anymore I hadn't seen that. I'm hoping that maybe we can get this season on streaming video or we may just have to wait till it comes out on DVD.

I think someone else mentioned that a theatre was playing every episode, you could google and see if any theatre near you is doing that. Or, you should see if a friend of yours has AMC and go over to their house.

It would suck to wait for the DVD to come out, we did that one with one show and I always somehow found out the ending of the season before we got the DVD's (despite my best efforts).

Good luck, I'm sorry you don't live in my state or I would invite you over :).

Wow!!!

Rick seems so cold and callused. I think he is a great leader though:thumbsup2

Hope Hershel makes it.

And, I wonder what illness Andrea has????

loved Carol and Daryl.........

actually loved everyone except Andrea.........
and Ricks got me a little ticked....

Rick is upset and I guess that I can understand why. I bet that he shakes it off.

I liked this episode. It was quiet (until that end!) but I enjoyed seeing the characters again. The Talking Dead was fun too.

The last we saw, Rick was trying to comfort Lori after telling her that he killed Shane, and then Carl put him down for good. Next thing we know, Carl is a little badass and now Rick is acting all aloof toward Lori.

It made me wish we'd seen what happened over the winter! How did they survive? Did they seriously run from house to house in the cold, evading them for that long?

The whole exchange between Daryl and Carol gave me the willies. Please, please, please don't let them be a romantic couple. I like that he has a soft spot for her, but I don't think I can see him in a romantic scene-- he's too awkward for that. The reason people love him is because he's the guy who doesn't care what people think and always tells it like it is.

There were more lapses in logic...like when the group went into the courtyard, why did they do that? Why didn't they kill as many zombies as they could through the fence, first? And why would they bring Hershel when they went to look at the rest of the prison, as well as all the toughest people, leaving Carl in charge? I think Hershel needs to survive to deliver Lori's baby, and it's not like his presence there was very helpful.

I think I am going to like Michonne.

It was a good episode. Can't wait to see Morgan and Merle again, and the Governor!

I love Daryl and Carol, and I hope they do become a couple. They were funny last night, she makes him so nervous! He is my favorite character!
I would also like to see what happened over the winter. I think once Rick sees the baby he'll soften up? Maybe, maybe not.
Does just cutting off the part that was bit by the zombies fix the problem? Yuck, that was awful to watch!!
Carl was a little cutie last night, he used to annoy the heck out of me, but for some reason I like the shaggy hair and the little tough guy stance.
What bugged me was some people had much longer hair, like they'd been on the run (Carl, Herschel), yet many of them did not. Apparently they had enough down time for haircuts LOL.
I think it would have been really really obvious if Andrea were pregnant with Shanes baby, since it's been several months. Not sure what's wrong with her, I'm guessing they will tell us soon enough.

This is probably not going to happen, but it would be kind of interesting if she were pregnant with Shane's baby.

She could be pregnant. But, she looked more like she had an illness. If she was pregnant by Shane, wouldn't she be further along??? I mean, they went through a whole winter!!! I don't know:confused3 Looked more like she had a fever, and not just something like morning sickness.

I love Daryl and Carol, and I hope they do become a couple. They were funny last night, she makes him so nervous! He is my favorite character!

I don't think Daryl is used to receiving affection. It makes him uncomfortable and he doesn't know how to handle or respond to it. I so hope they become a couple. Carol the nurturer, Daryl the badazz!!! Woo hoo!!!!

Oh, and why don't Michonne's zombies try to attack her? She just leads them around on a leash like they are her pets.

Can't wait till next week:hyper:

Rick has turned into Shane! I seriously dislike Lori and the way she played the two against one another, and I'm glad he's finally seeing it. Too bad it took killing Shane off to get there.

With Andrea, I'm guessing pneumonia or something of the sort - fever and coughing after a long winter points to something respiratory, and something easily resolved with antibiotics but dangerous without them make sense from a storyline POV.

I think we're going to see some of the winter in conversations as they go about making the prison livable. If they follow the comic it isn't terribly interesting stuff, just scraping to survive, looting houses for food, discovering that walkers are slower in the cold.

I agree with you about Darryl and Carol, I just don't see it. But the closeness between them (in a friendship sense) is going to make for an interesting conflict when Merle returns... Who does Darryl choose? Merle certainly isn't going to embrace the group and Rick's leadership but I can't see Darryl abandoning the group either.

They should have left Hershel behind, no doubt. But for those who read the comics... Does anyone else feel like they're setting Hershel up to take on the role Dale had in the prison and beyond? I don't want to say too much since I have no idea if it will be a spoiler for those who didn't read the comic but there was a part of Dale's storyline that I really hoped to see make it to the show and I have to wonder if it might not get there, but with Hershel instead.

I was also going to mention that I bet Merle will not approve of Daryls relationship with Carol either. I am concerned about what having Merle back will do to Daryls character, I love who he has become, I'd hate to see him go back to what he was at the beginning.

I loved it! I loved the opening scene. They were so frantic and desperate and they all had the whole thing orchestrated when they took over the house. They were going to eat dog food! Talk about desperate.

I cannot wait for Merles return.

I think Michonnes zombies don't attack her because the disabled them. They have no arms and i don't think they have jaws so they really can't attack her. Andrea somehow makes it to the prison because she is there in the next episode.

I hope Herschel lives. I too was confused as to why they took him on the killing spree. He should have stayed behind with Lori in relative safety. He is as close to a doctor as they are going to get. He already saved Carls life and he is needed for the delivery of the baby.

Yeah, I agree Andrea would probably be showing if she were pregnant. She's probably not.

Oh, and why don't Michonne's zombies try to attack her? She just leads them around on a leash like they are her pets.

Because they have no bottom jaw, so they can't bite her. I think they've just resolved to the fact that they can't do anything. They do seem to get excited when they see her, but then it's like, "Oh, darn."

And at least Norman Reedus agrees with me about his character (Daryl). That doesn't mean that the producers will, though! This is from an interview I saw with him:

One of those people who cares deeply for him is Carol. Could their relationship move beyond friends?
Reedus: I never want Daryl to be suave and have game. I want him to be awkward as long as they’ll let me. I don’t want Daryl to hook up with Carol, I’ve been fighting it forever. I think it’d be more interesting that the glue that connects us is this damaged feeling that we both have. I find it more interesting and I never want to be that dude that throws someone up against a tree and the moonlight hits their glistening chest. If they hook me up with somebody I want to be all thumbs and cry in the corner and not know what to do. It’s interesting to be dead inside in this world to start off dead inside. That’s a huge story with Daryl this season and to be dead inside and slowly unravel into this ferocious flower is more interesting. It’s a route that no one else on the show is taking and that’s where I’d like to see him go.

I don't know if Hershel will take on Dale's role, I just hope he lives! I keep wondering if as the series goes on, Beth and Carl will end up a couple. Right now he is about 14, and she is supposed to be around 17, I think.

I soooooooooooooo want them to be a couple me and my 14 year old daughter squealed over delight over this scene...........we have been wanting them as a couple since the " cherokee rose " episode

There were more lapses in logic...like when the group went into the courtyard, why did they do that? Why didn't they kill as many zombies as they could through the fence, first?well they HAD to close the gate so more zombies didnt get thru...and they had to get into the prison cause they were low on amo....so they didnt have enough ...hence Rick telling Carol take her time shooting

I think I am going to like Michonne.
me too

It was a good episode. Can't wait to see Morgan and Merle again, and the Governor!
are u sure Morgans coming back??? i heard it might be his son isntead....

Can anyone tell me how long it was supposed to be between the end of Season 2 and the start of Season 3? I was wondering why in the world Lori was so visibly pregnant in the first episode this season, and she wasn't even showing in he last episode of the 2nd season.

They mentioned having been running around "all winter" at some point. At the end of last season they were saying it was starting to get chilly and that winter was coming, so presumably sometime around September/October? And then in this first episode winter was over, so maybe sometime around April or May? So, believably a proper time frame.

I don't closely follow this thread, so forgive me for asking, but how do you guys know Merle is coming back? I think I missed something lol.
