And for those wondering about the rats being fed to the walkers, here's a blurb from a recent interview with Scott Gimple:

"You've set up a mystery about who was feeding rats to force the prison group out. Is that something we'll see answered in the midseason finale?

It will absolutely be answered, but I'm not going to tell you if it's in the season finale."

So we will get our answer, just not yet...

Does anyone else feel like they're watching last season all over again?

Yes! I have never been a fan of the Govenor storyline. The show is getting so formula....lots of filler episodes before one of the main casts dies. I am guessing Hershel dies during the mid season finale.

I enjoy WD, but I have to admit I miss the excitement of season one. It is now nothing but a soap opera with a unique spin. And I will never understand how Georgia has such an incredible zombie population! Every building, shed, car is full of Zombies!

I don't. TWD is based on the comics, and has been loosely following that since eposide one. In the comics, the governor is a large story line, and he does come back to the prison (I won't say anything beyond this). The comics are not only about Rick and his group. There are many other story lines and chracters outside of it that are woven into it.

And for those that dislike the governor read this spoiler in white : he ends up dying in the comics during the prison raid, so good chance he won't be around much longer than a few more episodes.

It works for the comic but not for the show. It's becoming stagnant. They need to move on from the governor and prison storyline and I'm hoping that happens after the mid-season break.

I think the first season was so exciting because the apocalypse was so new. They were all stunned and running for their lives, trying to figure everything out and how to survive.

Now it is more about relationships and dangers other than the zombies i.e. Governor, rogue groups, sickness etc.

I hope when they leave the prison it is more like season one. I like when they are on the run. I miss the excitement of season 1.

I had seen a spoiler site saying he'd only be on two episodes.. man was that wrong.. lol

Random, but I miss carol!!!!

I thought the same thing. Even if you assume a 99% fatality/conversion rate they'd eventually start chipping away at the population, particularly since the walkers are so very mindless. Between those that are stuck in the mud or otherwise rendered more or less immobile and the ones that the survivors have killed thus far you'd expect to see some thinning of the ranks. But I think that's the reason for the rat-feeder - not for any long-running or important plot device (like the speculation that it was the Governor or someone loyal to him) but rather to help explain why hundreds upon hundreds of walkers continue to descend upon one particular building in an isolated/rural area.

I'd heard four, which is in keeping with what I expect of this coming week's show. There's no way he'll survive a showdown with the prison group - Michonne will see to that.

It's not so much the governor storyline I didn't like, just the dragging on in Woodbury. These last 2 episodes were interesting to see what he was up to all that time, but now I think it is going to drag again. The Governor should have ended for season finaly but I think this next episode is going to be all "I want the prison!" "I'm not giving up the prison!" and the shocker for the half season is going to be Hershal being killed. Then the whole 2nd half is going to drag on with the Governor until he is defeated in the season final. I can't see the Governor being finalized just in 1 episode for it to be done this final half season episode and it is too big for it to happen in some middle episode in 2nd half, so it will drag on for 8 episodes after the new year.

I agree totally. I had originally thought Carol would find him and join him, because she doesn't know who he is.

That would have been an interesting twist if Carol met up with Gov since she does not know him, only the name "the Governor" and he is going by Brian now.

I also did not like the Woodbury story line. It was good for a few episodes but kept dragging and dragging. I think I also didn't like Andrea's character much and she was such a big part of the Woodbury story line with the Gov.

I seriously doubt they'll drag it out all season. They're just trying to tie up his story line so they can get moving with the rest.

Agreed! I wasn't sad at all when she was killed off. My favorites are Hershel and Daryl so if Hershel does get killed off next week, I'll be a little bummed. But since they're saying it will be shocking...maybe it won't be him but someone completely unexpected.

Kill the govnah!

Kill the Governor

Bring back Carol

Honestly. If a main character had to go I would say Glenn. But he survived the sickness doubt they'll kill him now.

Or Carl

I think the series would be a little more interesting, if the story focused on other areas of the US, like what's going on in California, or Alaska? Do zombies freeze at 32 degrees? Don't get me wrong, I love Ricks group. But I can't help but wonder about the rest of the world. How are other people surviving?
