The walking dead amc #2

I don't understand why they haven't "armored" a camper. Sort of like one of the Dirty Harry movies where he welds armor on the sides and front of a school bus and drives into the massed gunfire. They have the camper, they have sheets of metal. They could rig up something that would allow them to plow over things while protecting those in the camper. Sheesh.....do I have to think of everything?
Yes! Like in the newer Dawn of the Dead

Ok I know I keep changing my mind, but now I think it is Abraham. All the promise of a new beginning with Sasha, the apology to Eugene etc. I think it was Abe.

I think whoever gets Lucille'd was in the van. Throughout the episode we were also give the POV of someone who was in the van (ie: the light creeping through the bullet holes). I think the van person POV, and Lucille bashing POV that the viewers had, are the same person. So that would be: Daryl, Glenn, Rosita, or Michonne. I'm going with Glenn.

I watched the episode last night. I paid close attention to Negan's monologue and he stated he was going to beat someone - not kill them, not beat them to death, just beat them. Sooo, I'm not sure if anyone will actually die. I think he realizes that the group is small compared to his or others and in order for them to be "profitable", I would think that he needs as many alive and working for him as possible.

The general consensus among the critics and across social media so far is that the episode was a giant fail. When you have the show runner defending the episode on conference calls the day after airing I think it is a safe bet that they blew it.

My fear is that they are going to start going the way of "Lost" -- not knowing where they are going with the script or characters and leaving viewers in the lurch! This past season was a writing fail!

Did you see the pictures of his past victims on the walls of that bunker -- I think "beat" means die because he swung that bat more than 5 times in the closing minutes and no one is going to survive a bat with barbed wire in direct hits on the head.

I think the only one we can say with some certainly is safe is Carl. Right before Negan was about to hit whoever over the head, he said if anyone says something or interferes, cut the boy's other eye out. He wouldn't say that if it was Carl he was about to kill. I also think he wouldn't pick a woman to kill. I think that would make him look weak, like he couldn't take a man out. I know a little sexist, but I am a woman saying this lol.

He said cut his eye out and feed it to his father -- so I think both of them are safe. I agree about the women -- he has a thing in the comic books about not harming women or children (kinda hypocritical, ain't he).

From what I've read on the fan sites, Glenn's dying leads to Maggie becoming head of the Hilltop and the fans feel that can't happen if Glenn survives. Glenn has survived an awful lot so far and everyone is saying it's time. Who knows.....

I did think the whistling, and Negan's sociopathic grin as he terrified the group were frightening, but it was a long road of nothingness to each that point that they kept dangling in front of us all season!

Cliffhangers are weak and lazy writing.

I think the death will be Abraham. Neegan said something about the victim taking it like a man or like a tough something or other and Abraham was the only one who looked tough about their situation.

Cliffhangers are a staple of season finales on TV drama shows.

Has anyone heard the audio that someone did playing on You Tube. You can hear screaming, Carl shouts "NO" and you hear a fading voice in agony say "Mag".

Until "Lost", when you found out the whole series was one giant unanswered cliffhanger :rolleyes1

I heard the premier will pick up right where the finale left off. For a second I thought they would start the premier months ahead and do flashbacks. I also read that we will not find out right away who died. I wonder if they will do a filler episode of Morgan and Carol escapades.

Last night I read an article where it pointed out the song that was sung in the show beginning could be a clue to who was Lucille 'd

Just tossing this out there

Maybe it's coming. Rick did look at the bullet holes inside the camper. I was wondering why they showed that.

On TD, Kirkman said there were clues as to who was killed and it could be figured out. That goes agains the theory that they writers have not decided yet and/or filmed 4 different endings.

But that annoying mustached guy we kept seeing, he offered Rick (at the first roadblock) a deal that was 'you give us all your stuff and only 1 of you has to die'. I think that's Negan's deal.

My fear is that they are going to start going the way of "Lost" -- not knowing where they are going with the script or characters and leaving viewers in the lurch! This past season was a writing fail!
Yep....feeling like this is going the way of the Lost. That could have been such a great show and they messed that up royally.

Interesting point that I hadn't noticed. I agree with you.

I think, even though I HATE to think so... I think it's Glenn. Maggie's pregnant, and I don't think she will miscarry. With her abdominal pain and high fever, I wonder if it's not even pregnancy related--appendicitis? If the hilltop doctor saves her, it will be a tragic story (good TV?) if Glenn dies and she has their baby without him. Carries on his legacy, I guess. :(

Apparently they work because people don't stop talking about. There must be something to them.

It's not by any stretch new...lots of shows have always used this tired old trope. But it is weak and lazy writing IMO. But does it work??? Tune in next week to find out LOL!

For the record, are comic books spoilers actually spoilers? If so can they be put in the spoiler format. I don't read the comics and I don't want to know what may or may not happen based on them.

If they arena spoilers and people can just discuss them let me kid sound yay away. Thanks.

I thought we did decide that comic book story lines would be considered spoilish since sometimes they follow the comics and sometimes they don't. Since we never know if they will or not, it was best not to say and put it in a spoiler button.

I was half and half on the whole episode. The only part I think I actually liked was when Morgan finally stepped up and did the right thing to save Carol. As for who dies? I have no idea, but hopefully it is more of a minor character, like Aaron or Rosita. I would hate for it to be Eugene, because like Denise, he was starting to 'get it'. I like seeing the how the more meek characters evolve through the whole ZA.

Do you think the writers/producers/Gimple etc. know or even think they may have made a mistake ending it in a cliffhanger? Or do you think they expected it and are just laughing off all the backlash knowing we will all be tuning in for the premier in Oct?

You think they would have learned from the "is Glenn dead or under the dumpster" thing.
