The walking dead amc #2

My money is on Enid - I think she's in cahoots with the Wolves... Great episode but I think they should have tried to come up with a way to take care of them in the quarry - leading them out was bound to go wrong.

Fun fact: Greg Nicotero did an interview with EW regarding the B&W versus color. Originally the plan was to under saturate what was happening in the past and to over saturate the present. When they got to post production the storyline that took place in the present looked like The Wizard of Oz, very bright, vibrant lush colors. The over saturation also affected the look of the Walkers as they were now too pink in hue. He said that type of world (lush, colorful, etc...) does not exist for our Group and would not be believable. So that plan was scrapped and I believe he said it was SA's idea to do B&W versus the normal (for their world) color, which has a bit of a blueish tint.

I really enjoyed this episode. It featured almost everyone in some capacity and really set up the season well.

But who was honking? Ron or Enid? Gabriel? The Wolves?

Edited my answer. I think it was the Wolves because they were leading them to their territory.

While agree it's too many to torch all at one time, at least they were contained. Well, a few were slipping out between the tractor trailers, but that could be fixed. Then, they could kill them as they had time. I think it was very foolish to unleash that super-horde of walkers!!!!!

They couldn't fix it - the truck was already falling into the quarry when Rick and Morgan found it. They made this plan because the road was falling apart and one of the tractor-trailers was about to fall into the quarry (Rick even mentioned that a good rainstorm would destroy the road). They didn't have time, they were actually running out of time. The trip to the quarry was supposed to be a dry-run to see if their plan would work, and then one of trucks actually collapsed and they were forced to put the plan into action.

They didn't unleash anything. This would have happened anyway. The only difference was that Rick and his group found it and tried to do something about it.

I do remember that now....

Could the Wolves be the folks Deanna banished (or at least maybe they joined up with the wolves) and It is one or both of Enid's parents or sibling. The JSS...maybe that's that person's initials. I think it's Enid blowing the horn.

My first thought on hearing the horn was that the Wolves chose that time to attack Alexandria (with all of their big guns out at the quarry) and that the horn was a distress signal from someone back home who didn't realize that it would bring the herd toward them as well.

That could be. I do think it's Enid though (just from the preview clips I've seen).

I am also one who thinks Enid is involved with the horn honking as she has been "up to something" since Rick and the others first came to Alexandria...she was always sneaking off somewhere by herself which I always found odd. I can't logically see any young teenage girl sneaking off with all of the very apparent dangers on the other side of the fence unless there was something/someone she was seeing on the other side.

Need clarification again with this thread as I forget...been a loooong time since last season....is this thread a spoiler thread or not?

Hi everyone! I'm new to the thread. I binge watched TWD on Netflix the last few months and love s.6 already! I too am wondering who was honking the horn. Not sure about Enid, because she was in a car and that horn was so loud! We'll see! I'm guessing Ron or Father Gabriel.

Also, did anyone catch the convo between Glenn and Maggie during the big house meeting.. he wanted her to stay back to keep an eye on Deanna, but she said something like.. that's not the only reason... do you think she might be pregnant??

I was wondering that too. Forgot about that little scene.

I think the horn blowing is going to be a non-event, like someone trapped in an 18 wheeler while a few Walkers surround it. I am guessing someone is holding the horn down because they need help.

The coming attractions were fast moving, but I think I caught someone (female) in the front of a truck cab with blood all over the window. My assumption is zombies were killed while they tried to get at the female. Horn stops blowing and episode moves on. Just a guess.

I think people prefer no concrete spoilers. Wild theorizing is A-OK though.

Example, comic discussion is ok because they do not necessarily follow them. You were able to see the next episode early because your DBF works in the production room, you keep that stuff to yourself :) I think that's how it goes anyway :)

I was under-whelmed.

I just had no reaction to this episode, and I'm not sure why. I guess I'm so used to wild and crazy, this just seemed....whatever. Best part was the hair lines (Eugene/Heath & Eugene/what's-her-name). The rest was....meh.

I don't think it's the Wolves sounding the horn. Remember they weren't supposed to be moving the herd of Walkers from the quarry yet, it was supposed to be a test run. I think something is seriously wrong back at Alexandra and that is how they are signaling for help. Those that stayed behind in Alexandria had no idea Rick and Co were moving the herd at that time. So that's my theory on that.

My heart was racing when I thought Carter was going to kill Eugene! I realized that the only non-newbie that I'm okay with getting killed off would be Father Gabriel. All of the original Alexandrian's are expendable to me. Last night really reminded me of how much you get emotionally invested in some of these characters. I don't want to see any of them go.

I thought if there were going to be stuff from the comic books, it would be prefaced with a warning so that posters could skip it if they wanted. While we all know they are not following the comics closely, some parts are incorporated and some would rather not know about the comic story line since you never know when (and if) they will use some material for it.

The wolves for instance was in the comics but still haven't really been brought into the show so much, yet have been introduced here. Have they even referred to them as the Wolves on the show or are they still unknown?

Yes, I believe that was the agreement if someone was going to post about the comic books.

They have kind of referred to the wolves, remember the mini van at the end of S5? It had "Wolves Not Far" spray painted on it.

That's a really good point about them not knowing they were moving them yet! My first initial thought was a distress call from Alexandria or somewhere, but I had no good reason for it.

Oh yeah. I am thinking it's an emergency horn and I think it's Enid.

I think there were wolf references all through last season-when they went to Noah's house there was something too. I don't know the comic books at all, and I know the wolves somehow.
