The walking dead amc #2

That episode was just horrible. I thought I'd never have to hear Beth singing again. Sigh. I wondered why he saw all those people but not Karen.

I've watched every episode since the beginning and have usually been chomping at the bit (pun intended) for more episodes, but after the mid-season finale, I started feeling kind of meh on it. It's just so... wash, rinse, repeat. Also-- it was like, 30 minutes of commercials and only 30 minutes of actual episode!

I wondered about the torsos, too. It looked like someone was almost harvesting them. I wondered if they were thinking of sticking them outside the perimeter of their own compound, like a zombie fence, to guard against intruders. But um, seems like a lot of bother and work for something that could probably be accomplished by a bunch of metal stakes.

Also, I wondered if anyone noticed Glenn picking up Lucille's cousin? Foreshadowing?

I think it's ok, just no spoilers from future episodes if you have a secret "in". I know when I can't watch it til Monday I just avoid this thread til I've seen the episode.

I agree with this, I am very anti spoiler for upcoming episodes. But, once an episode is aired it's fair game. If for some reason I can't watch, I just don't open this until I do.

My hubby and I were wondering about that. A lot of the dead in the town looked like they had been killed by people not walkers. The houses and some of the dead looked like they took some sort of rocket fire with those odd burn spots. And all the walkers cut in half and in the truck looked like some sort of trap. Cutting off the legs makes them more controllable... they can't walk... but they can still bite. Anyone watch the talking dead?

someone destroyed that town, you could tell a lot of stuff was burnt out. the question is who and why? Would the military do that? Well LOL, I guess clearly, since the bombed Atlanta, but why this little gated community? And the half corpses, what the heck? And since they are moving on, I am guessing they aren't going to tell us, unless maybe they find another town that has the same issues.
I was not expecting that first bite for Tyrese. Made me gasp a little, but not as loud as when we realized it was someone real holding his arm as they hacked it off. I was surprised they didn't realize it was too late already. So sad. I am not a huge Tyrese fan, but it was sad. Seeing Mika and Lizzie again made me cry. And I never expected to see the Governor again. I was wondering why there was no Herschel to welcome him. The style of last nights episode seemed different to me than others. I liked it.
No Daryl or Carol though, not cool! And did anyone else wonder why the heck Glenn and Maggie were in different cars??

After Tyrese got bit and was hallucinating and the radio was on, there was a report about how people were going around slaughtering 'normal' people just in case. (or something to that effect) The basic premise seemed to be people are panicking about who is safe and who isn't. I'm thinking that's what happened to that little community.

I was so distracted by my sadness seeing Lizzie and Mika I didn't really listen to what the radio was saying. I will have to listen again. Slippery slope though isn't it? Who are normal people to decide which other normal people should be slaughtered? What makes them better? I have always thought people are far more terrifying than the walkers/zombies in stories like these.

I absolutely hated the flashback hallucinations of Beth, the Governor, etc. They kept saying the same things over and over and drew it out way too much.

Those radio PSAs that we heard in the bedroom where Tyreese was and then again in the car - were those supposed to be in Tyreese's head or were those real? And if those were real, are we supposed to believe they were in "real time" and describing Rick's group? Or were they describing another group we haven't met yet (possibly the one on DC, as depicted in the comics).

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but the torso's that fell out of the truck, all had a W carved into the foreheads. Did anyone else see that?

Well I guess I need to go back and look at that again too LOL!

My brain must not be working. Who is Lucille and when did Glenn pick up her cousin, and who is her cousin?

I assumed it was because the community they were in was called Wiltshire Estates, and presumably all of those corpses were from that community. But I just read on another forum that there was some other foreshadowing that a group from the comics called The Whisperers might be making an appearance soon, and the W's could have been foreshadowing for that.

Beth singing = my version of Hell.

I never watch live anymore and find myself fast forwarding over more than just commercials. This show has lost it's focus. I watch to be entertained. This pretentious writing is silly.

Life is the journey, not the destination. Think of all the episodes we spent waiting for some forward movement. It would have been interesting to see their struggles to get to VA...500 miles of nothing but open road and a full tank of gas?

The other pet peeve..these people are survivors, yet are easily killed by zombies with incredible ninja skills.

Luckily I had Black Sails to watch afterward. Now that's an awesome show!

No spoilers please!

I didn't spoil anything. As mentioned, it's from the comics so it's not a given it will occur. And besides, I didn't mention who The Whisperers are or what they do. :confused3

Anyone familiar with the comics could pick out the foreshadowing from the episode, so I guess you could say the show is filled with spoilers too...

I thought it was determined that things that happened in the comics weren't to be discussed/speculated since we never know what they will use from the comics and what they won't.

I would agree with this also. For those of us that have not read the comics, I personally would prefer to live in ignorant bliss, without speculation about what might happen from the comic stories.

Is that in the guidelines somewhere? If so, then I apologize. I checked the OP and didn't see any rules as such. For as many people who don't want to know about the comics, there's probably as many people who do. And those of us familiar with the comics like to discuss it as well.

I liked it a lot. I loved the hallucinations and seeing the Gov and Lizzie etc. again. Does anyone know what happened to the little community? It looked like they were majorly attacked, houses were burned, people were cut in half (walkers would not do that.) I also didn't get the truck full of torso's!
On TTD they said the town had been attacked and more would come out later. I missed it, but apparently on the foreheads of the torso's a W was carved. My DH thinks this is an introduction to the Whisperer's. If you saw the back wall of the town, where the lower half of the bodies were, you could see where parts of the wall were torn down and there were scorch marks where it had either been blown up or what-have-you. And places had been obviously looted, things scattered in the yard/street, valuables in driveways (framed b-ball shirt, bat). They also mentioned Noah's mom, how her head had been bashed in, not killed by a walker or anything.
