The walking dead amc #2

Is that in the guidelines somewhere? If so, then I apologize. I checked the OP and didn't see any rules as such. For as many people who don't want to know about the comics, there's probably as many people who do. And those of us familiar with the comics like to discuss it as well.

I know near the end of last season it was discussed that possibly a second thread would be started, for spoilers and people to discuss comic storylines. I don't know if that ever happened though.

I thought for some reason it was discussed at some point. If not in this thread, then the first one. Perhaps others could weigh in with their thoughts/opinions.

I thought it was okay to discuss/speculate about the comics and how they relate to the show. The show does not follow them, but sometimes pull certain themes/story lines. Heck, there are certain characters on the show that are not even in the comics and characters that were killed long ago in the comics but are still alive on the show, so I don't think the comics are very spoiler-ish. It seems when they do pull a story line they don't follow it. I like to hear different theories and thoughts that others have whether they pertain to the comics or not. I think it's kind of the point of the thread, otherwise we just discusses the facts of the episode.

Now down right spoilers of what is going to happen I understand not posting since some don't want to know. Spoilers can easily be found, there are many spoiler sights dedicated to finding out what will happen before the show is aired.

Those radio PSAs that we heard in the bedroom where Tyreese was and then again in the car - were those supposed to be in Tyreese's head or were those real? And if those were real, are we supposed to believe they were in "real time" and describing Rick's group? Or were they describing another group we haven't met yet (possibly the one on DC, as depicted in the comics).
It was flashbacks to riding in the car with his father as a child. Horrible things have been happening for a long time. And in case you missed it (I did), Andrew Lincoln was the radio announcer. They used him for run-through's and were going to hire someone else to do the "official" reading, but then liked him as they thought it would make sense for the voice he heard to be slightly familiar, yet not quite (he read in his British accent).

I'm not a regular on the thread, but I still think a true spoiler is very different than discussing the comics. It doesn't really matter, I'm not the first to mention the comics and I won't be the last (see a few posts below mine on previous page). If it becomes a hard rule that is enforced, I'm sure the owner of the thread will list that in the OP.

I thought it was determined that things that happened in the comics weren't to be discussed/speculated since we never know what they will use from the comics and what they won't.

I hope not! I like it when folks discuss the comics.

Thanks for the info. I thought after that it was most likely a flashback/hallucination of some kind. I wish it were something more cryptic though that we'd learn later this season!

My opinion is that if you want to avoid speculation, you should probably not visit a forum intended for discussing TWD.
I mean, if we can't even speculate here, I really have no reason to read this thread. I value the theories as to what things mean and where it might be headed!

I don't have an issue with speculation and discussing things. I enjoy that. I just thought I had remembered in the past that about the comics and we only talked about the episode that aired. If I'm wrong I apologize No need to get upset with me.

What do ypu think is going to happen with the wolves? Written graffiti on a wall at the beginning when they got to the town was 'wolves notfar", and then in the trailer there was a glimpse of a pack of wolves or dogs. Hmm...we have a lot of Ws... Wiltshire... wolves... Ws in the walkers foreheads... very interesting!

I thought the episode was very trippy. I hate how fast they go by though. Just seems we get into it and then it is over lol. I too wondered about the wolves not far on the wall.

I stopped the DVR on the "wolves" it looked like a german shepherd and a couple of other dogs. I would speculate that it's not really about wolves/dogs but about another group that is raiding and killing people.

500 miles traveled in the first two minutes of the episode on one tank of gas with no incidents whatsoever...when has that ever happened on this show?!?

Of course now the mere 100 miles they have left to get to Washington are going to be riddled with problems and probably going to take us through the entire rest of the season.

And about the radio, it had to be a hallucination because as far as I know there are no working radio stations with newscasters reporting on the daily zombie news.

To me the radio sounded like news from the early days of the zombie invasion... or more historical reporting on war crimes in a place like Rawanda. Talking about attacks with machetes... rebels.... and cannilbalism. At times it reminded me of the Terminus folk as well as what was might be happening in the small communities like Wiltshire.

I read later that it was part of Tyreese's hallucination and it was actually Andrew Lincoln's voice (talking in his British accent). What he was saying was about their group, but it was Tyreese remembering everything. Obviously there's no news, but to think deeper about it, I had initially though it could be the introduction of a group that had the ability to broadcast over frequencies (like Terminus did), who were already onto Rick's group and warning others of them. But not the case.

I think it's way too soon for them to be introducing the whisperers of anyone like them to the tv show.

My thought is that we're about to see the show take a total left turn from the comic books and they're going to distance themselves even further than they already have. There's been so much talk about Washington... almost like a red herring. Maybe the show is going to tell an alternative history from the comic, could have happened this way.... Or this way. Or this could be just another subplot like terminus before we get to ... The place in the comic book... And the next big villain in the comic... Who they have said is a ways off.

I liked the episode, I thought Tyrese seeing these people was similar to a person seeing their life before their eyes before they die. He was seeing things he had possibly done wrong, deaths that could have been prevented if he could have done something differently (discussion had between terminus guy and Bob).

Other comic speculation I've read said that their impending trek to Washington will turn out to be them arriving at the Alexandria Safe Zone. I've also read that it's possible the Whisperer's may be introduced prior to the Alexandria Safe Zone, as a bit of a game changer/divergence from the comics. I believe Negan is coming soon as well.

The Whisperer's thing could be plausible - they've alluded to Morgan returning all season so at some point, presumably towards the end of this season, he'll have more screen time. Rewind back to the episode "Clear" a few seasons ago to when Rick stumbled on Morgan holed up in that apartment, talking crazy. Morgan said said something about "people wearing dead people's faces", but now many are saying it's foreshadowing of the Whisperer's and perhaps Morgan may have already had an encounter with them. It will be interesting to see if Rick's group encounters them and Morgan at the same time.

I have to admit, I wasn't thrilled with this episode. It felt like it kept repeating the same thing with not enough content. I didn't like that they didn't even address Beth's death in the episode but instead went right into another main character's death. And I don't understand how Tyreese would have let his guard down so much inside the house when he knew there were walkers around.

And the commercials...way too much. We ended up watching the clock and the show would run 3 minutes and then have another 3-5 minutes of commercials.

Seeing as the whisperers isn't even a little bit resolved in the comic books. I'm still saying it's not going to happen in even the next season.

I really feel like the rest of the season we'll be dealing with these wolves. Glenn started talking about that train car guy last night that he let out from terminus. Wasn't he the leader of the group that turned terminus into cannibals? I feel like we may be dealing with that guy in a big way in the next 7 episodes.
