The walking dead amc #2

I agree that Eugene can be a coward, but I also think that has been changing in the past few seasons, since he's been with Rick's group. Like when he took the bus a few episodes ago so the rest could get Maggie to the Hilltop, willfully sacrificing himself. I don't think he is at all going the Savior route, but rather is using his wit to break Negan's hold from the inside out, but is only going to commit when he knows it will be successful. (Last night he wouldn't give them the pill because he knew it wasn't a surefire plan). Him getting comfortable doesn't mean he's changed sides, because if you have to be there, why not enjoy a few pickles and/or gremblygrunks? popcorn::

I agree. Eugene is very smart. I think he's just biding his time. I don't believe he just saying to hell with Rick's group. He cares for Tara and Rosita deeply. Look what he did for Maggie. There is no way he's just tossing them aside for something better. He's just taking the situation he's in right now and making the most of it until he can figure a way to get out.

I think Eugene knows exactly what he is doing. I think confessing that he made the bullet was a huge step for him and he's seeing that he finally has some power. Power from the inside. I forget where it happened in the ep but he gave that grin that made me certain he was hatching a plot. My money is on him trying to hep Rick's group from inside Negan's world. I don't think he'll survive it, but I sure think he's going to try.

Eugene is totally "playing" Negan.

Remember when it was discovered he wasn't really a scientist on his way to Washington to save the world with the cure for the zombie apocalypse?

Eugene was a science teacher who realized he wouldn't survive long in the zombie apocalypse so he fabricated the brilliant save the world scientist story initially to Abraham and Rosita as he knew this lie would save his butt.

He is doing the same with Negan and the Saviors.....he is lying and has now created a "character" that is appealing enough that Negan will want him protected and want to keep him around. In the meantime, he is gaining intel and knowledge that he will use to benefit Rick and the group.

Doubt it, and HOPE NOT! Someone needs to be willing to really fight in an apocalypse -- or people like Negan will dominate!!

Doubt all you want. What Rick does with Negan, if they follow the comics, will surprise you even more then.

PLEASE DON'T SAY ANYTHING MORE!!! :worship: :D

I have deliberately avoided knowing anything that happens in the comics for all of this time. I only hear about it AFTER something happens on the show and hear whether it was faithful to the comics or not. I know they've deviated quite a bit, but still don't want to know!!

As an aside... If posters want to change this thread to " -- CONTAINS SPOLIERS FROM COMICS", I certainly won't complain at all -- but I will know not to click. :goodvibes

Most folks on this thread will use the "spoiler" button when discussing comic stuff as a courtesy, even though it's contested whether comic stuff is actually a spoiler. But using the "spoiler" button at the top of the post is easy enough for everyone.

Got it - thanks! I'm pretty new to this thread so didn't know that. I'll "unwatch" just in case. Thanks! :)

Yeah, we have gone back and forth about the whole spoiler thing. I think what was decided was that it was okay to post comic book stuff since it's not necessarily spoilers since the show does not follow the comics 100%. People who post things form the comics or spoilers either use the spoiler button or type something like *****SPOILERS BELOW***** so if you don't want to know, you can scroll by.

And the title to thread does NOT say 'no spoilers'. But I have figured out how to use the spoiler function and have been using. I will also say that the show has completely gone off the rails/jumped the shark from 'comic cannon' so none of us knows how this Negan stuff will go. Except we should assume he'll be around for a while since the directors just LOVE them some JDM. I am, personally, hoping for his death to be soon.

Yes, true. Usually the originator of the thread will indicate whether they want no spoilers but I don't think that's ever been done here. Either way, there's still the question of whether comic stuff is a spoiler.

What I said was not a spoiler. I didn't tell anybody what happens. I just said it would be a surprise.

And yeah, I'd love to see Negan die soon. I grew tired of him in the first two minutes. I don't think he advances the story in the slightest at the rate we are going.

Me too!!

Just a suggestion, and after this I'm "unwatching"...

Perhaps include "COMICS DISCUSSED TOO!" or "COMICS 'SPOLIERS' INCLUDED" in the thread title.

As a huge fan of the show -- with a whole group of friends who also watch and DILIGENTLY AVOID hearing what happens in the comics -- I really didn't expect to see postings that might share that info in a thread only labeled "AMC". Perhaps stupid on my part, but thought I'd share the feedback. :goodvibes

That's all up to the originator of the thread, who's not been active on the boards since 2015.

Oh well! If I was on this thread for longer I'd ask a Mod to do it -- but I'll just :wave2:
Why would you leave? If they use the spoiler button, you can't see what they wrote unless you click on it, so no harm no foul. People are really good about doing that. I don't want to know any spoilers either, so I just don't open them up. Correction, I did once, but only that one time.
