The "waiting for SWA to open it's Nov/Dec dates" thread. NOW BOOKING THROUGH 12/12

I just called SWA this morning and the customer service rep I spoke with (Julie) told me that they haven't even been notified of when they will be released, leading her to believe that it will still be awhile.

:(

The SWA customer service reps are the last to know when the schedule will open! :confused3 I wouldn't take what they tell you toooo seriously! :cool1:

I am also confused about how to book. I have seen some info. about Ding, but dont understand it fully. My friend who flies SW often didnt know about it, but said I would get the cheapest rate by booking under internet specials on the SW website. Does anyone have an opionion about how to book and can someone elaborate about the Ding more for me? We have reservations for Nov. 25 thru Dec. 3rd. My friend also says we will get a better price to fly out on Nov. 24th (Thanksgiving) than if we fly on the 25th??? I thought Thanksgiving was the busiest day to fly and didnt think we would get a good rate there?!? I am so confused. Any help while everyone is waiting for the Nov./Dec. flights would be appreciated. THANKS SO MUCH!!!! :cheer2:

This is just crazy!! Do they generally come out with the prices at a certain time? Say at 7:00am they release new flight dates or is it just whenever? I mean if it's just whenever I can hang around there site all day and get nothing done! My DH already thinks I'm nuts for being glued to the computer for all things Disney! This is my first time booking with SW and I am not familiar with their airline or procedures. Any help would be appreciated.

TIA

I have found a flight for $189.90 on Delta from RDU to MCO at great times for us. Does anyone think we could beat that price w/ SW and what is your opinion on passing this up and waiting for SW? I don't understand why they can't put the fares out like all the other airlines??!!

Any opinions on this Delta fare? Our travel dates are 11-18 and 11-26.

Airlines that put their schedules out way in advance usually have changes in their schedules at later times that can affect you (ie changing your morning flight to a later time, cancelling flights, etc.) vs SW which I've never seen have a change their schedule in my years of flying with them.

HTH!!! :teeth:

:sad2: i am still waiting...... i think i logged on 500 times today! we need to know, dont they get it?

Couldn't take it anymore. We went ahead and booked with USA3000 last week. I will have to fight myself not to check SW when the dates are published. We did get a great price ($140 rt total) but I've seen SW with rates as low at $49 each way.

Hope all that waiting pays off for you guys - I just couldn't take it another minute! :goodvibes

One more check before I head off to work for the day.....5 AM on Tuesday morning and NOTHING!!!!! :sad2:

What's up with them??? :confused3

In 2003 they released the times mid day. I was checking the site at least 2 or 3 times per day, and I came back from lunch and was totally excited to be able to buy my tickets.
:hourglass

also wondering if there will be any sale rates when they open up the dates, that might be another waiting game for November. I dont want to book at an expensive price after waiting this long.

Seems like usually when they open up there aren't any deals. Those usually come later.

Going Oct.28-Nov4.....this makes me carzy..(see?).we used to fly ATA and i usually had my air line tickets by the previous Mar....we were going the 29th but just changed to the 28th the other day....dont want to do the one thinga so i will wait...there are 10 of us.....

Sale fares usually come later once they've had a chance to see what gets booked when the new schedules are released.

What do you consider expensive? And it also depends on where you are flying from... Personally I consider $79 each way still alot cheaper than some airlines. Then when the sale fares come out and it goes to $49 each way, I have a small party!!! :teeth:

i AGREE 79 is cheap but I want the 49. Im afraid to book at 79 and then worry about getting a credit for a future flight. My husband wants to drive, so 150 is what we agreed upon for flying prices. Lets go Southwest, a few hours with two small children or two days in the car!!!!!!!!!!!

Take the $79 and then if you can get $49, use it for a future trip!!! An excuse to go again!

I usually end up getting a lower fare once I've booked the flight I want which I use for my future trips to FL and WDW. It's really easy to do. Most times you can do it by just going to "Travel Center" and clicking on "Change Reservation". Once you get the lower price, the remaining funds go into a ticketless travel fund good thru the following year from when you originally booked the flight.

Then when I book the next flight it's cheaper because I already have some money stashed in the fund.

Relax - it's really not so bad!!!!

We usually fly ATA but this year we are consitering SW and NW also, just depends on when and how much. We are going March 31 through April 9th. Does anyone know when SW usually opens that market? Thanks ...

I would be estatic w/ a 79.00 fare!!!

I so hate waiting for things like this!!!
