The teacher wanted everyone to go on the bus and become familiar with it for possible future field trips as trips for Pre-K are not set in stone yet and for any kids who will be taking the bus(DS will not be and I stressed this to teacher again)

Is that a smile that could melt your heart or what? :lovestruc :cutie:

OMG, it is! I guess that means it will be for me tomorrow!:woohoo:

yes it will be!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

I went to bed early last night with DS, but he did not fall asleep until after 3am:scared1:

I had to wake him up about 10:30 and he was none too pleasant:headache:

All he wanted to do was go to the mall:rotfl:

Once we got there, we carried him into the school and had to stand around for a a few minutes, as it was tad bit unorganized, but whatever:laughing:

So, a lady finally started coming up to each parent asking who the child had and she told them where to go.

Once we got to the classroom, DS handed the teacher his Bert and Ernie Picture and she thanked him and read his answers to his favorite things and that seemed to bring DS around.

We put ds down and let him pick somewhere to sit. At each table, there were four pictures of a school bus to color.

He picked the yellow table and sat down and colored for a good 15 mins, never once getting up or complaining :thumbsup2

The snack I bought for him is no good, as we have the PEANUT FREE class.

The mom seemed a bit out there and was listed all things her daughter was allergic to: Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Shellfish...okay, normal things..

Then she went on to list these two items:

BBQ Sauce and Mustard..What heck is in them? Furthermore, who is bringing that for a snack :rotfl2:

So, the animal crackers I bought were processed in a facility that processes peanut, so that is a big NO:scared1:

So, back to drawing board.,

If I was this mom and it was this important, I would have typed up a letter with everything my child was allowed to have and everything she was not allowed to have and made copies for the teacher to hand out to all the teachers:confused3 But whatever:goodvibes

Next post I will put pictures:goodvibes

Bummer about Huey not going to sleep until after 3am! :scared1: poor guy. And the snack fiasco...geez!! What a nit picky Mother you have to deal with.

Here is a short clip from his classroom:

Cute pictures and cute video! Thanks for sharing! Little Huey is growing up!! :cutie:

Ds really thought he was going for a bus ride and not just testing out the bus, as you will hear in this clip :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

aww poor guy, that face is so pitiful when he found out he wasn't going for a real ride.

Hey... I may be back in a little while... gotta go do the whole bedtime riggamaroar (I've said that word a million times but I think that is the first time I've ever attempted to spell it! I think it's good. :thumbsup2 )

See ya later if Tomato does not hog the computer!

yeah that looks good on the spelling :thumbsup2

Chele- the clothes for baby Jason are very cute.:goodvibes

Well ladies and gent, I'm off to bed now. Hope you all have a good rest of the night :grouphug:

I have used that word a lot, too, but never tried spelling it, good go at it:thumbsup2

Aww that is so precious, poor baby thought he was really going on a bus ride:lovestruc He looked so cute, I wanted to reach thru the video and hug him. I saw you through the window outside the bus waiting!!!

Thanks Mom. DH was looking for me thru the camera window:goodvibes

I'm sure they'll look great on you Love!!! You are lucky they are only for reading. I went from no glasses to bi focals :scared1: Then I got so lazy I just left them on and wore them when I didn't need to and now I need them all the time as I began to rely on them.

You are so right Love, my little guy looks so tiny on that great big bus. How adorable he is, but then I am prejudiced!!!

Thanks :lovestruc

As Sharky said the lady was over the top with things like Mustard and BBQ, what the heck kind of snack would you need those for? :confused3 But the thing about the peanut allergy (which I only just found on the internet) that if one of the kids had a snack that had anything from the nut family in it or even if their snack touched the table and the allergic kid's snack touched it, it could kill him. That's a really bad, very serious allergy. It said that they could even die from breathing in the dust in the air from a peanut shell. So I'll give the mom that much that she should want them all to take it seriously but come on, mustard and BBQ sauce? Whats up with that? :confused3

I just really think Sharky was right, the mom needs to write up a list of what foods the child can have and what companies do not prepare anything in peanut oil that could accidentally get into another food item.

I have already decided I am going to be productive at work tomorrow and type up a letter for the teacher to have her ask the other mother for a list of what can and can not be in the snack cabinet:teacher:

Is that a smile that could melt your heart or what? :

I have to agree;)

yes it will be!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

I just wish the mother would have told us a bit more...I want to know if air born or just if she consumes it, she will get sick??

I think I will be writing a note to the teacher as I feel something this important, all the parents should have the proper information:thumbsup2

Well, that would be good, but my ds only likes bananas

When I say Picky, he is as pick as they come

It takes him 6 months to a year to try anything new:scared1:

So, cracker or pretzels, will be his only choices this year I guess.

Maybe popcorn.

The teacher said for bdays, she recommends small cupcakes, and she said we could get them at Sams Club

The mom vetoed that......maybe munchins or donuts??? Who knows..

Guess I will be spending the year reading ingredients:goodvibes
Sounds like he could be brothers with my boys!! They are still giggling in bed right now! School comes early for us all so GET TO SLEEP!!! *Ahem* Anywho...
About the allergy mom, if it is a severe reaction for instance can't breath in the peanut dust, she definatly needs a Dr.s note and there will have to be a bunch of precautions cause peanut dust is in a lot of things. While this is definatly an issue with quite a few kids the more common peanut allergy is by consumption. What I have to do for B and what a few other moms that I know with food allergy kiddos is we bring them a seperate snack. There is a little girl that was in Tylers kinder class that has a disease where it does not break down phosphorous and stuff. What she could and could not eat was really amazing and confusing. i was room mom and I always tried to have something there for her since her family struggled and she pretty much either had to eat was there or not eat, but peanuts was one of them and what she did and still has to do is eat her snack at her own desk/table so it doesn't get confused. With that many diff allergies i would think this childs mom just needs to send her snack daily and ya'll should only have to deal with not bringing stuff that she could be allergic to airborne!

GOOD LUCK!!!

By the way he is just plumb adorable in these pics!! You got a cutie there!:cutie: And Tyler and he could also be brothers in the pickie department. Tyler will eat green grapes and peeled apples. He eats plain peanut butter sandwiches! Or peanut butter and honey. No Jellie! Oh well!

Thanks LeeLee for all the allergy info. Once I get a letter from the teacher telling us exactly what this child is allergic to, I will feel better in selecting snacks for ds. I hope too that the mom is bringing her own snack each day. I know I would if it were my child:goodvibes

Sounds like they could be brothers...Up late and picky eaters...think they would get along great :rotfl:

Thanks so much.....:goodvibes

We'll hope that Hannah isn't as bad as it could be and that it skates right by your parents. Hugs and good wishes for them. I'm still waiting to hear if we had damage to our camper, so far we hear our house is still in tact, no shingles, broken windows or tree limbs in the house but a big limb on the camper and the weather was too bad for any of our neighbors to check more closely. Thanks for thinking of us.
