The wait is killing me! 2014 packages

Just booked POP for the Princess Half, and it was $175/night (Feb 21-24)! That's closer to what is expect to pay for POR, where I'd honestly much rather be, but didn't get to check rates there. Afraid to look.... :(

YIKES. I was thinking it was that much bc of the race but goodness gracious. its a value. LOL. I am going to check POR now.

It is annoying. I booked a few weeks back for may 2014 and am incredibly impatient. We can only book flights 11 months in advance from the uk

We want to book a room and dining plan - no park tickets - but a pop up keeps telling me the dining plan is not available unless we book tickets too. Is this new? or has it always been like that?

I've looked at the prices for my trip I might be planning in January and they haven't really increased much. It's for All Star resorts and the weekend rates increased by $10/night but the weekday rate stayed the same and the marathon weekend rate stayed the same.

I looked at President's Day weekend because I saw a lot of people complaining about the $180/night for Pop and that's what it was last year too and also for the Marathon weekend.

You can only get the dining plan as part of a package, and the packages include tickets.

We faced that last year when we ordered YES tickets.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Today is the day.

Now I don't know which resort we are booking. We are hoping for a code to come out later.

But do I book a mod and maybe upgrade later?

Or book a deluxe and have the possibility of having to downgrade later?

Decisions, decisions!

Book what you know you can afford.

Then, if something comes through, you can upgrade. So much better a feeling than having to downgrade. (And when do you pull the trigger on the downgrade anyway?)

It's always been that way.

The exceptions are annual pass holders who book through the AP website or DVC members staying on points. I believe there is also a military exception.

been that way unless you have an annual pass.

It's my understanding that packages require that you only have to buy tickets for one day. You might be able to save a few $$ by buying tickets for the remainder of your stay through Undercover Tourist or your local AAA office.

Something screwy is going on with the last week of January. It won't let me book at CSR, Contemporary, or Yacht Club. Since these are all convention resorts, I think there is a common thread here. I doubt that they are all already completely booked for such a low attendance time, within hours of bookings opening up. I think somehow these rooms haven't been unlocked for the public yet??? I know others are having trouble with this week, if anyone gets any info please advise!

Remember too that although booking just opened up on-line, room only has been available over the phone for months. You're probably right re: a convention, but it's not like public rooms just opened up today.

Yep we are having the same problem. It seems there are a few of us trying to book for the same week and having no luck. We wanted to stay at either The Beach or Contemporary and none of the standard rooms at either are available.

Very odd. At first I thought well heck maybe they are already booked.. maybe its going to be a lot busier than what we normally see that time of year? Considering how it seems every single month we hear reports of WDW being busier than it was the year before but, honestly there is just no way they can all be booked this early... right?:confused3

We finally got a standard room at CR. We called and had to move up one day but we were able to get it for 5 nights!

Does anyone know if AAA discounts are availble on the LM rooms at AoA or the suites at AoA? I believe AoA was excluded from discounts for a while, but I wasn't sure iF that is still the case.

Thanks in advance for your response!

Mousesavers doesn't show that those rooms were specifically excluded from AAA discounts for 2013, so I would call and ask.

You can also rent points through David and get the dining plan..:thumbsup2 without tickets.
