So. I noticed that there's a few volleyball players on the Dis and I figured that we should have a place to discuss volleyball at. So. A couple questions to get started:

When does/did your season start? Three days ago

Also- anybody else like watching beach volleyball? Namely the AVP Crocs tour this year?

I've never had a certain position, there's different positions for the starting line up each game. And then we rotate (obviously).

and I so wish that we had another setter. We've got one really good setter and she plays varsity, and then one other setter that's good enough for varsity but swings between JV and varsity, but I'd love to have one more setter just for JV.

Our team has 11 new freshman. That means 11 people that have never played before. We've only got 8 returning players. And we have like...a senior that's playing pretty much just to get her gym credit without taking gym.

we had 4 setters on the varsity team, including me. and I don't know how many they had on JV, if they even had any. But one of our setters graduated so we will see what we get this year!

We've got a couple potential middle hitters in our freshman/senior bunch. I think I've just been upped to captain, but I'm not sure.


I CAN JUMPSERVE! This makes me very, very happy because I can do it consistently.

Last year we had 2 setters on JV. The other one sucked though, at volleyball in general, and stayed benched most of the year.

That's amazing!!! I wish I could jump serve, but serving isn't my strong point so I will stick with over hand. We had one girl that could jump serve some what consecutily but she never did it in games, unless we were winning by alot. but our coach can do a one handed jump serve and its pretty amazing!

*My name is Brit.
*I'm 14.
*I've been playing for 4 going into 5 years.
*I play for school and club/JO/travel.
*I am an outside hitter but can also play middle.
*Tryouts were yesterday and the day before...we had practice tonight...and we have a scrimmage Saturday. So I'm guessing it started today.
*I really dont like beach volleyball that much. I mean yeah I love playing but its so boring to me to watch.

I made my HS JV1 team as a Freshman for this year. I am 5'8 on a good day. I was on a national level team this past club season and we won our division in Nationals which were held in Orlando. I got to play at my dream volleyball spot...Disney's Wide World of Sports. I am hoping to go to college in NW Ohio on a volleyball scholarship. I started playing in 5th grade. I absolutely love this sport! Ok, I'm done.

I've watched that before I'm pretty sure. Thats really good. BTW, Pistons are still better than DA Bulls! Sorry, OT.

Had some decent hits in it but your setter isnt good at all. Hitters had to make ton of adjucements to his sets. Most of it was pretty average stuff. Decent but still plenty of room for improvement.

Floaters are great to do against bad people, they trip and fall.

I serve a floater but I call it "The Knuckleball" I led the team and conference in serving points because I'm pretty good at it.
