Did it last night - best experience we’ve ever had at Disney. Totally blew our minds. If you’re a Star Wars fan, it’s absolutely a must do. Oh, and when you’re done and checking out the photos they took, say “The Void” to the cast member for a free photo download!
So, this was my only complaint about the photo. The way they present it is awkward and I think designed to trick you in to purchase. We loved it, and when they presented us with the photo choices on a little tablet it was whopping $15 for one 4x6 print! It was a family trip though and we wanted to have
something so we begrudgingly ordered one print and paid for it. As it was printing, they tell us if you scroll down (nothing on the screen indicates this, the scroll bars are actually hidden) there is a place to input an email address to receive the photo for free! Very annoying that they hide that, so I hope this information finds its way to others! When previewing your photos, just swipe down, it's a free download. No secret code or promo, just hidden in plain sight!
Is this something teenagers (or their parents) would want to do multiple times in one day?
I can imagine my son and his friend being hard to drag away from this
I know it can get $$$ but it will be my sons bday and doing that 2-3X may be getting off easy!
Also I have never done any type of VR and do get some motion sickness. If I take bonine I can handle Star tours, can only do EE once and can only do HP Forbidden Journey once. I usually skip motion simulators.
Will this bother me?
TIA

So it's very cool, very very cool. The equipment is also a bit heavy and the storyline is pretty linear and basic. The novelty may not last through multiple runs. It's definitely worth doing once, but every subsequent playthrough is going to be more or less exactly the same, and your tolerance for the VR gear may wane quickly.
As far as motion sickness goes, that is only a problem for VR games in which there is a disconnect between what your character does vs you regarding motion. The Void is designed so that all movement is 1:1 between reality and virtual, so it completely eliminates the sensory disconnect that causes traditional motion sickness, you should be completely fine. Do note that the equipment is snug and heavy and the headset completely encloses your vision, so if you have trouble with tight spaces of claustrophobia, that
may be an issue. Probably not, but it's worth mentioning.
How far in advance are you trying to book? I think they only open reservations a few weeks before the date.
We booked it walking to the parking lot to get the car to head over, it's not hard to get at all, and this was in July.
I'll second this. I get motion sickness as well, especially with movie screens. I have to close my eyes occasionally during some things til the feeling passes. This was my first VR experience and had no trouble at all. I believe the dizziness usually comes from a disconnect from what your eye see vs. what your body is doing (or more likely not doing). But since you are actually walking and moving your brain recognizes it all as real. And well, it is real....with a computer generated skin covering it. You walk, you talk, you turn, you touch things. It's really pretty awesome. Definitely do it.

This is exactly the truth! I mentioned it above but it's worth reinforcing!
It's a lot of fun, the price is high, but it's Disney, and I feel like it really is worth it. I have a number of VR games and equipment at home, which I love dearly, and none of them come close to this!
