The Void at Disney Springs

We did it our last trip and really enjoyed it. They had to stop us in the middle because we did something wrong so we started over. However, we had a blast. I definitely recommend it!

Did it last night - best experience we’ve ever had at Disney. Totally blew our minds. If you’re a Star Wars fan, it’s absolutely a must do. Oh, and when you’re done and checking out the photos they took, say “The Void” to the cast member for a free photo download!

Is this something teenagers (or their parents) would want to do multiple times in one day?
I can imagine my son and his friend being hard to drag away from this

I know it can get $$$ but it will be my sons bday and doing that 2-3X may be getting off easy!

Also I have never done any type of VR and do get some motion sickness. If I take bonine I can handle Star tours, can only do EE once and can only do HP Forbidden Journey once. I usually skip motion simulators.
Will this bother me?

TIA

I had never worn a VR headset before this experience. I get motion sick on simulation rides....but the Void experience did not bother me at all.

Thanks everyone. We're going to do it. We have several die hard Star Wars fans in our group so I think it will be a big hit!

If you have never experienced any VR you are in for a treat. I have not done the Void experience yet(on the to do list) but I have heard very good reviews on the the vr forums. I do own two different VR headsets(Oculus Rift and PSVR) and VR is mindblowing. This takes the immersion a step further. If you are any type of Star Wars fan it would be a must do in my opinion.

My family did this experience at my son’s request on this trip. We had a blast! None of us had done anything VR, so it was a treat. Our confusion at certain spots only added to the game and made for some great memories. We definitely recommend.

We did this in April with two adults and two teens. Would absolutely do this multiple times!! DH who gets occasional motion sickness had no issues with this experience. It was amazing!!!

Has anyone had issues trying to purchase tickets online? I'm unable to get "buy tickets" tab to work and the phone call leads to a voicemail prompt

How far in advance are you trying to book? I think they only open reservations a few weeks before the date.

How scary is it? Is it suitable for a brave(ish) 10 year old?
Probably suitable - but it depends what they find scary. My son thinks HM is creepy and also found Dinosaur overwhelming, but thought the Void was the best thing ever. There are stormtroopers shooting at you, and at one point a big scary creature comes very close to getting you. If your 10 yo has seen the original trilogy and can handle the idea pretending to be inside that story, I think they'll be fine. Make sure your kid knows the backpack will feel very heavy and they'll also have a heavy helmet. I don't know if some gear stations have "small" equipment, but when my son and I suited up, the only options were "medium" and "large" - so he at 50" was wearing the same equipment as me at 65" and double his weight.

Tell your kid that if it feels too real, they can lift their visor a bit and remind themself it's all pretend.

I'll second this. I get motion sickness as well, especially with movie screens. I have to close my eyes occasionally during some things til the feeling passes. This was my first VR experience and had no trouble at all. I believe the dizziness usually comes from a disconnect from what your eye see vs. what your body is doing (or more likely not doing). But since you are actually walking and moving your brain recognizes it all as real. And well, it is real....with a computer generated skin covering it. You walk, you talk, you turn, you touch things. It's really pretty awesome. Definitely do it.
