Jan 2020 we got three contracts ROFR'd $165-170 pp -- so $221 sounds about right for inflation and timePre-COVID. They said $221pp.
$165pp…. can you even imagine….Jan 2020 we got three contracts ROFR'd $165-170 pp -- so $221 sounds about right for inflation and time
The only one I see from the board sponsor, which is the broker that was mentioned in that podcast, was a Grand Cal June use year with 210 points. No points until 2026. It was $221 and shows as sale pending and sounds like the match to the supposed ROFRed one mentioned.I don't have time to watch that video right now. So a VGC was ROFR'd at $221? Anyone know how many points it was? Crazy.
Also....with the refurb....do you guys think they will keep the small table and chairs in the studios or will they ditch them like they have in other recent refurbs? I hope not. We liked having the table and ate dinner on it our first night there. Our son likes to stand to eat so the table with 2 chairs worked perfectly for us.
That is awesome. Now with the banked VGC Points you can really take advantage of the 11 month window.I just picked up 2 nights in a 2bd @ 7m with cheap resale Aulani points and then dropped the same 2 nights from an existing reservation I made with VGC points that will now be bankable….. and the refurb should be done by August….
I feel like I’m getting away with something!
Wow that seems like a long time for so few rooms.Someone in the Grand Californian group on FB said she was told that the refurb would take 12 months but that doesn't seem right to me at all.
A little over 7 days per room and 2 months per floor. Not credible unless the refurb extends to common areas or something other than rooms.Wow that seems like a long time for so few rooms.
Earliest inventory disruption was mid October, though others reported that removed inventory may have been returned later. Considering inventory returning to available is ~invisible to me and how I monitor inventory, I don't have a great sense of the current start date.
I think April is still looking pretty certain for Floor 1. Floors 4/5 murkier, but likely Jan/Feb. Other floors are harder to discern but I wouldn't be surprised if they started at 5+6 and worked their way down.
No signs of inventory disruption in July (and maybe even June?), indicating it should be wrapped up by then.
My best guess at this point? Starts early Jan (a few days after New Year's), and wraps ups late May to late June.
June so refurb should be doneWhen is everyone here planning to head back to VGC next?
For us, not until December.

Gonna go back to what I said in September about timing:
All the above was based on available inventory. Starting at floors 5+6 and early Jan are now both confirmed and I still feel good about floor 1 in April. If floor 1 is the last floor, then I guess that could even mean they wrap up at end of April or early May...

ugh I have VGC end of Jan to early Feb, right when refurb starts. Then mid May, hoping refurb will be done by then.
I probably wont have time and I’m going with my Mom. She hasn’t been in 10 years and it will probably be the last time she ever goes…. so a refurb will be on the back burner. If you have time next month, you should wander over to VGC and snoop around!
Please report back after your upcoming trip to let us know if you see much work going on.
