The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Owners & Lovers Group - 3.0

Would be surprised if deleted. just shows the incompetence of that well known broker and underscores this forum's trend of disliking that broker overall for its poor practices.

So….. we are considering getting the LLPP for our first full day at DL when we fly down this week. It really is for no other reason than wanting a day without zig zagging through the parks for my youngest’s birthday…. and then we will vibe and LLMP for the remaining 3 days…. a “get in the magic” reset day that can carry through the rest of the week….

Ridiculously expensive…. except when I think of it as a $1600 VIP tour….

Keep us posted, I’ll be there in 2 weeks. :)

Technically wouldn’t a VIP tour be cheaper? (I guess you’d need more people, I always think “it’s only like $450 each!!”)

I’m not aware of a VIP tour for $1600 and I certainly don’t want to pay that much money and then not be able to do exactly what my family wants to do when we want to do it.

Not saying I would not be tempted to do something like this in a few years as a splurge but as an alternative thought that is a lot of merch. Would the family perhaps have more fun doing a crazy day of shopping and picking up an huge hall of bags, shirts, etc. vs going on a lot of rides (they likely have already been on more than once). Heck you could likely get some cheap flights to Orlando and go nuts at the Character Warehouse and really stock up. Just a thought......

This is a very interesting idea, but speaking only for my children, I think they could hit $400/child inside an hour without breaking a sweat, and then would just be cranky and refusing to carry it all around in standby lines (they are better kids than I’m portraying them here, but I do think this is how it would go down).

I suppose it might work if we told them we were doing LLMP but they each got to spend $300 on merch at the end of the day. 🤔

After going to Disneyland 1-3x per year for the last 15 years….. we already have so much “stuff” in our house that merch is really only a big draw for my wife at this point…. and even then she wants “one or two” new things.

We are pretty aggressive on getting “stuff” out of the house and moved on to younger cousins.

Also, I think the memory of “remember that Birthday where we tried to ride every attraction in both parks in one day…. and that was AFTER you wanted to have a character breakfast in your PJs” will have way more juice than more “stuff”.

The underlying point about it being a LOT of money for something with nothing permanent except for the “pretend you are a YouTuber” videos and pictures will most likely win the day…. but it’s fun to think about….

Good point, even if you shared and got your price lower it would then be a battle royale for what to do next. lol

I appreciate the gentle nudging of people on hear (in public and in private) who I like and respect being ever so polite in trying to tell me “are you SURE about this…. that’s a LOT of money”…
FYI, not sure if you’re tracking it but two parks have each had one day of the next week sell out for LLPP at WDW, so be prepared that it is at least theoretically possible it could happen at DLR too.

We did the VIP tour at Universal Hollywood which came out to just under $400 pp, certainly a huge amount to spend for one day at one park. I'm really happy we did this and felt we did well to get value out of it as best we could. I would not buy the premier pass at DL but could understand that it appeals to some in the way that the VIP tour at USH appealed to me.

We did the VIP tour at Universal Hollywood as well. I agree that it was a very nice experience.

While I think the meals and special warehouse tour were very nice, I feel like DL/DCA gives you way more bang for your buck as far as the number of attractions you can get on in a day.

I can walk through the parks in my sleep and my wife was a CM…. so we really don’t need the full VIP experience.

I don’t do well on the motion rides and unfortunately the Mario ride doesn’t have unlimited ride ability….. so the unlimited feature didn’t have a lot of value to me.

Also, no tipping required on the LLPP.

Maybe it wasn't previously? We went in Jan 2024 and got to ride Mario several times.
Oh, nice! We went right after it opened and it was definitely a one time shot. It was also so crowded in the land that you could barely move.

I think the Mario ride has a lot of replay ability…. I’m looking at you Smuggler’s Run….

YOLO -- plus the DLR is SO much better value than the single park option in WDW.

You could go crazy fast through the LL at DLR. I would suggest that it would give front of line/return time -- for a few non-LL -- eg PP, dumbo, submarine, mater come to mind.
