We've visited The Villages a few times. The first time we visited it we loved it..the last time, it had just gotten too busy for us. It's a city, and I think it's bigger (in people) than the city I live in. The houses are very close, but I see that in a lot of the retirement areas. I did like the older part more than the newer part. It was also pretty expensive for us. They sure did have a lot going on, and those who do live there seem to love it and all the activities. We have two sets of friends living there in the winter. The Villages offered a place for us to stay over for a few days, during the last visit, but it was just too busy for us....the town square was like Disney on a holiday...very crowded. But they did have a car show going on, so that may be why.
We have also visited here:
http://www.solivita.com/ and loved it, but not enough to leave the great Northeast..yet.
