The View - anyone watching?

You need to research further. Marvin Bush did hold a position with a company that did do security work on the World Trade Center. He held this position until 2000. The company also received no income from the WTC after 1998. I don't know many corporations that work for nothing. It is also assumed that W. Walker was a Bush family memeber and yet he's not part of the Bush family tree. If you want to research something, I suggest you avoid Wikipedia. As far as questioning the war.....go for it. Anything that results in the deaths of soldiers should be investigated. Rosie should give up her conspiracy propaganda and focus on this. By the way, it's funny how her sources, the conspiracy theorists, sure seem to like making a profit from their books and dvds.

I must agree with you on this. I know she is Gay and everyone who watches knows this. Does she need to bring it up ALL THE TIME? (and I have absoulely nothing against Gay people...if fact I love them all.) Ellen's show is very classy and she rarely brings up her sexuality. I could watch Ellen all day but 10 minutes with Rosie yelling...need the channel changed.

Ellen and Rosie's show are not similar in that The View has two to three segments that are meant to openly talk about life issues. (heck Rosie and Ellen aren't even similar...just like Bush and Obama aren't having their gender/sexual preference in common). Some of those issues in these View segments are about sex, life, family and relationships.

Rosie is a gay woman so when those topics come up she talks as a gay woman. From the perspective of I mean. When she mentions her partner, or attractions, or prior/recent sex she is simply talking about her life. Just as Joy talks about Steve (or prior realtionships like her ex) or Elizabeth talks about Tim. Or Joy talks about how "hot" Clive Owen is. Or Meredith used to talk about how "hot" George Clooney is. This is funny since Rosie often talks about males anyway!!!

In the normal world outside of the view this is called "living". We all do it in this world if we are a type of personality (gay or straight) that does. Some straight people are more "outgoing" in talks about sex and attractions. Some gay people are more introverted and vice versa. Nothing to do with gay or straight. Ie. Walters is a very private person in this regard. Joy is not. Joy stop pushing your straightness:lmao: . ( I can see it now...this line highlighted...ignoring its context :rotfl2: )

Every single person in this world, unless you are very private person, says "my wife..."....."my spouse......." "my partner......." She/he blah blah blah. It's life.

Sometimes, honestly, I prefer the "you are going straight to hell" variety to the anyone who says they are okay with homosexuality but don't say this....don't do that....

This reminds me years ago when I said something to a friend of mine about my partner that wasn't even sexual and she said, "too much info". This was "too much info" from a girl that spent four years in university randomly and openly describing sex in all its glory, relationship issues (usually about sex), and attractions of course. Which is her right. And mine. And yours. Or another who "loves gay people" but can't understand why her coworker has to have a picture of his partner in her face right on his desk. But not her other male coworker's pics of girlfriend of course. I'm smiling. Life is funny. So interesting.

So if a gay person says "my partner loves pizza" or "that guy is hot" they are not pushing their sexuality on you. They are living. And we all deserve to do that.

Love "The View". Don't always agree with Rosie or Elizabeth or Barbara or Joy or the way they talk. Of course. A given. But love that it is there. On TV. To tape or not. Watch or not.

Exactly! Excellent post.

According to the conspiracy theory that Silverstein conversed with the fireman that the building was going to be "pulled" which to the theorist means he was discussing blowing up WTC7 (the theory being to profit). That would mean the firefighters were involved or at least knew he was blowing the building. Since the theorists tie Marvin Bush into this whole scenerio, it implies GWB had something to do with it. Don't you think liberal politicians would be all over this? Don't you think they would be screaming for investigation? Since they are not, they would have to be involved. As far as the NYC legal system, what bigger case could you have than to prosecute Silverstein for numerous crimes. Since they aren't investigating it either, they would have to be involved.

I just read the National Institute of Standards and Technology Interim Report on the Collapse of Building Number 7. The Final report is due in the Spring of this year and will look at the posibility of a controlled explosion. The intial findings were that the collapse was caused by Vertical Structual Collapse Somewhere between floors 7 - 13. Structural Collapse was intiated by Debri and/or Fire Damage. Uncontrolled Fires could be seen on Several Floors. Damage to the building was seen on the South West Corner of the building as well as the the front of the building. After the Tower 1 Collapse large amounts of Debri could be seen in front of the building. There was limited Video and Photo evidence of the South Side of the Building due to the Smoke and Fire from Building Six which was deystroyed by the Collapse of Building One. Fires in building 7 Were burning out of control for Seven Hours prior to the collapse. Lower floor Support Columns were reinforced with Buttress (sp). The welds attaching these to the actual support columns would fail at 400 C to 600 C.

If the building was demolished by a controlled explosion. How come no one heard the Explosion that brought down the building. How come no windows were blown out because of the explosion. The North Side of the Building could be seen and now windows failed until the East Penthouse began to fall into the building. I have yet to find any explosive device that can destroy Steel and leave glass intact.

Rosie is full of it. I can't wait to see her expert. Hopefully they will do the broadcast of that show from the Grassy Knoll in Dealey Plaza.

Who uses Wikipedia?

Notice how we've beaten down the "I hate Rosie" people on this thread? Just stating facts and not getting down in the mud with the people who like to throw it can move discussion forward! :cool1: :cool1:

Well, you can think like that if you want. Or, it could just be that you're not going to change their opinions about her and they're not going to change your views about her, so what's the point? Debating over Rosie and her, in my opinion, out-there theories is kinda pointless.

She's allowed to have her opinion, just as you are allowed to have yours. What's the point in trying to sway you to the other side? Rosie wouldn't listen to my opinion -- in all liklihood, she'd call me young and insinuate that I'm stupid because of my age -- so, after I've heard her side, what's the point in debate?

Overall, I think this has been a shockingly civil thread -- one that I can't pull myself away from despite having posted only once on it. I'm intrigued by these theories, not because I believe them, but because I'm fascinated by how out there they are to me. But, like you say, I'm trying to see all sides of the situation...and I don't get it...And this is coming from a former Bush supporter whose support in him as waned immensely in the past two years or so.

But, if you want the congratulations, whoo-hoo! You won!

I think that Bonnie40 said pretty much the same thing you did. This thread is civil. Its great that it is. It is not a matter of who is right or wrong or who is winning but that both sides are actually discussing it. The dancing smiley was in reference that the discussion is moving forward and not resorting to mud throwing. At least that is how I read the response.

I understand now what your saying & it makes sense.

What do you make of the BBC footage announcing the building fell 23 min before it did. Is it real? I do not know what to think.

The popularity of conspiracy theories is explained by people's desire to believe that there is - some group of folks who know what they're doing”

The biggest conspiracy has always been the fact that there is no conspiracy. Nobody’s out to get you. Nobody gives a **** whether you live or die. There, you feel better now?
- Dennis Miller

One of the reasons for conspiracy theories is an assumption that people in high places always know what they are doing. When they do something that makes no sense, devious reasons are imagined by conspiracy theorists, when in fact it may be due to plain old ignorance and incompetence.
- Thomas Sowell

Rosie O'Donnell is barely literate. That anybody take her seriously is potentially a sign of the Apocalypse.

I think you are right. It is nice to see a discussion that is not just about hatred.

I have never quite understood the need to just post that you hate someone and not really add to the discussion.

I had never even heard of WTC7 until Rosie brought it up. I don't really know if she is right, but she has raised some good questions. The fact that others are calling for her to be fired indicates to me that she may be onto something. They have not given any facts, they just say she is nuts and needs to shut up. They would be more believable if they had facts to refute her theories.

I enjoy the View, and I think they have gotten a bit better at not all talking at the same time. I admire Rosie's restraint because there have been times when I wanted to ring Elizabeth's neck. She has a double standard for Republicans and Democrats. The other day Elizabeth was saying how wrong it was for Scooter Libby to be brought up for lying about something that wasn't a crime and when asked about Clinton she goes but he lied to the American people. They never did get an answer from her on why it was okay for Scooter to lie, but not for Clinton.

I love this quote.:thumbsup2

I'm enjoying this discussion too! I hope no one feeds into the posters who enjoy spewing.

Did anyone here post on the OLD WB Rosie board?

Thanks to those who understood what I was trying to say...

I have absolutely no problem with good debate and I understand that for the most part, people's opinions will not change because of comments on a message board. It's the posters who's best contribution is a picture of a hippo or resorting to name-calling that drives me nuts!

The BBC footage is real. They're report was amiss. They were told the building was going down and reported it as down. Not hard to do with the chaos that went on that day. If you think about it, if there was someone blowing up the building intentionally, there would be no need to tell the BBC beforehand.

You are wrong there. I have sent her facts with no response. She screwed up the Gulf of Tonkin blog and I sent her a message everyday for a week with no reply. I wasn't mean, I just pointed out that the Vietnamese had admitted to the first attack and that she should amend her statement so that others would have the right information. With no response, I have now come to the conclusion that for opposing views she posts the horrible, bigoted, and sad messages as if to show that anyone with an opposing opinion is that way.

How did anyone know the building was going down? I thought it was a shock the towers fell & they were hit by planes. I can see why there is so many question about #7. I find so much of this odd.

That is correct. The middle of the building roof was seen to be sagging over time (as documented in photos), and due to the presumed pending collapse of the building, the NYFD ordered the building to be "abandoned" (which as when the infamous "pull the building" comment confusion started).

I've changed my mind about things that are discussed on the Boards. When I find someone who is intelligent & can explain things to me I will listen. I then think about it. I like to share points of view with DH.

The name callers only hurt the cause they have IMO. You have to weed them out & use the ignore button.
