The Updated and All-Inclusive Costume Thread

I love her costumes! Does she have a website? I follow her on Instagram but didn't know she made them for other people.
She has always done commissions, but now that she's retired she wanted to get more into creating costumes for others. But she didn't want to just make a cookie cutter line of skirts and tops, so she created kind of a private club. It's not entirely custom, but she has a limited group and works individually with each person to create something as unique as possible. I'm not sure the long-term sustainability, but it's been fun so far!

You always knock it out of the park with your costumes and originality! Pics please with the reveal!

Aww thank you! It's definitely a point of pride for me. Can't wait to have something to share -- with pics!

I met with her one-on-one last weekend for my Princess costumes and I am SO EXCITED lol. She is also just the kindest, warmest person.

I know this is an old 2022 thread, but since we don't have a shiny new 2023 costume thread:

I'm legit planning to dress up as marathon mascot 90s Mickey: short yellow shorts, turquoise shirt and headband, pink and yellow striping.

If it is really really cold, I'll even wear long-sleeved black tights and shirt, but based on my experience (2020 and 2022) I'm not counting on cool temps. 😭
Maybe we'll see each other and can high-five! I'm going as the marathon mascot 90s Minnie! :-D LOL Have my yellow tank, pink shorts (will be adding a white stripe to sides), will be doing a pink Minnie bow / ears (likely on a running hat, though, due to the temps). Keeping my eye out for yellow runners in a style I normally wear.
Havent decided on gloves, but suspect it will be waaaayyy too hot to wear or even carry them.
Also not counting on cool - and will be coming from cool temps! blah!

Does anyone have one of these skirts from sparkle athletic? I have construction questions. I am thinking about making one with specific colors.

My shirts for the MW 5k and 10k came in today. Both worked out as planned. The shorts, not so much. LOL.

Still undecided about doing anything for the half and full. Since they are the longer distances, I will take comfort over show. So I think I may just go with regular running singlets for those races. Maybe try to spice them up a little some iron ons or something.

This is such a great thread (just discovered it!). I typically don't race in any kind of costume but when I saw that the princess 5k next year was themed after my favorite girl, I knew I had to get a plan together (woot!!). So I am currently working on a concept like this for Princess Jasmine. 💜 Also running the January half and princess half but no costumes there. Would love to see what everyone else is doing. Happy costuming!

Soooo yeah. I’m really digging how this shirt fits and is fitted but not tight, and thin but not see-through. And I don’t think the armpits will chafe (based on just trying it on) and it has the cutest little wings on the back that are mostly sewed flat, but are a little bit 3D. The horns on the headband are adjustable. Winning. Yes.

Anyone know anyone/online shop that does custom heat transfers or would create a one off custom tank with a logo? I have an idea for the marathon but so far I have only been able to find the logo I want on 100% cotton tanks. Looking for the logo on a wicking tank. I don't mind putting the log on myself with a heat transfer, but just need to get one made.

I'm pretty sure that a lot of places would do it via a "custom order" on etsy. It would be worth finding a shop that has good reviews that offers customs and sending them a message asking about it, OR finding a shop that has a design you like and asking if you can send them the specific garment you want it printed on. OR, if you're talking about HTV, check with your local friends because a LOT of people have cricuts these days.

Does anyone do fun socks? I'm outfitting Captain America and Figment for the upcoming races and I'd love to wear fun socks that match my outfit. But... I don't normally wear anything but short socks like bombas or feetures. I'm wondering if I'd so regret my decision to wear tall "cute" socks. Are there options out there for themed socks, but still running socks?

I've worked with VacayModeStore twice on dri fit shirts. She's doing a custom order for me for my husband's race shirt. I sent her a picture of a sticker that I liked, and she's putting it on a shirt for me.

I've tried tall socks and they drove me crazy to run in, so I go with calf sleeves for any costume enhancement and stick with my normal running socks. That said, there are tall running socks out there on Etsy and Amazon, and a lot of compression socks are suitable for running. Pro Compression does a lot of licensed designs.
