At $499 a lot of people can afford an iPad. 16GB is our base model. For 32GB its $100 more, and for $100 more than that you get $64GB. The 3G models cost another $130

My thoughts exactly. I am "meh" about it. My iphone can do most of that and there's no way I'd read a whole book on a back lit screen. I give it a thumb and half down. The $499 doesn't have 3G access.
Right now I'm not getting what it can do that my iPhone doesn't already do -- except that it has a bigger screen....
The LCD screen pretty much negates it's usability as an extended eReader, way too much eyestrain for my eyes.

I want to know what the web surfing is like. Is it like an i-phone with a bigger screen where everything is in an app format instead of real website content? I'd be better off with another laptop if that is the case.
I think I read something that said it would be full websites, not mobile versions. Look at the comment at 10:16AM on this site.
This would be great for travel as long as you have the G3 network. More limited with just wi-fi. But with 3G would make my drive to Florida even more fun than with the I-phone which can get annoying long term surfing the web. I find Iphone is good for specific type of limited web surfing.Advantage for me over the iPhone. I don't have to use AT&T for cell phone service.![]()
