I think some people are upset because, just because you called and waited on the phone for a reservations shouldn't mean you take everything you can, not having any thought for anyone else that may be trying to get just 1 reservation. I have no beef because I was able to get my 1 reservation on the day I wanted. But I stopped there and didn't do a power grab. I think that is the rub for some people. Not saying with hate, just saying.

That would be my thought as well. Everyone has something special, or someone special. My issue is that some here say that they got the first ADR, then called back and got a second one??? Seriously? That just isn't right. I sat, and redialed, the same as everyone else, from 6:55 until 9:30. I got nothing. Just busy, busy, busy. And I do remember someone posting in that time frame saying that they had secured ADRs for two different days. So, that had to be during the same call. I finally called DVC MS (something I have never had to do before) and have them make my ADR. There was only one night that all 5 of us could easily go...without moving other stuff, like CP, around. And that night wasn't open anymore!! So, I took another night, only to find that 3 of our friends are leaving that morning!! I guess my friend and I are going to make 3 others very happy....we'll just find a few other friends that want to join us.
But....it is annoying that some of us sat on that phone as long as everyone else did, and some people got 2, and even 3, ADRs while others got nada!!

I'm wondering if the reason they aren't taking reservations past 5:30 on MVMCP nights is because they want non-MVMCPers out of the park by 7 and can't guarantee that will happen with reservations later than that. With the mess the ADRs have been so far I won't be surprised if I have to wait an hour or more for my table past my ADR time. Maybe they're giving themselves a window of time for screw ups!

Hmm... I'm wondering if the reason they aren't taking reservations past 5:30 on MVMCP nights is because they want non-MVMCPers out of the park by 7 and can't guarantee that will happen with reservations later than that. With the mess the ADRs have been so far I won't be surprised if I have to wait an hour or more for my table past my ADR time. Maybe they're giving themselves a window of time for screw ups!

They seem to manage that with other restaurants just fine.

But here's my new theory. I never understood why someone with a party ticket would sit in a restaurant for 90 minutes of their very limited party time. We all know they could fill BOG in a nanosecond, even on a party night. But maybe they're afraid that they couldn't keep the OTHER restaurants still filled on party nights if BOG was open. And it's not like they can change their minds now and close the others.

But then why not keep it open until 6:55? Back to the drawing board I go........

its not Disney's fault that people booked multiple res. Yes it is allowed but that does not give free reign for people to grab as much as they can. As I said, not saying mad, just saying

I really wanted to stay out of this, but people are allowed to have multiple ressies on different dates. Disney allows it so they aren't doing anything wrong. I'm sure many disers have more than one ressie at BoG and just haven't mentioned it. I understand that there are many people who waited and couldn't get an ADR, but blame disney. Even on mvmcp nights, they are only accepting ADRs for an hour and a half time frame! Disney was unprepared for this day! A lot went wrong and I don't think anyone should be attacking other disers because of their frustration...and what would be the point? No one is going to call back and cancel their ADR (even if they have more than one) just because of people complaining on here after all that time they were on hold.

I had to head into work, so I'm finally posting on my progress....

Started dialing right at 7am and was finally able to book through the automated system at 8:52am. I had wanted November 19th, but the automated system showed it to be fully booked- so I settled for Nov 20th, which was my back up day anyway. Thankfully I was able to move Garden Grill to the same time on the 19th and I was planning on dropping my Le Cellier lunch adr for the 20th...so someone must have been happy to grab that.

I also had the fun of calling back to try and add my credit card. It took me about 25 min to get through and then 45 min on hold. The guy who helped me used the $0.01 technique- so I got pretty concerned when I didn't get a new confirm #. I called back (got through immediately) just to get disconnected after 25 min of hold time. It took me another 15 min to get through again w/another 25 min hold. Got a wonderful reservationist this time who confirmed the adr and CC info was all in the system. She also added my bday info for DD3...although I forgot to add our food allergy info. I'll wait on that after things calm down.

So...we'll be at BoG on November 20th @ 7:45pm

Maybe it's the way my computer is displaying things - but the bold function doesn't seem to be doing the trick, it seems to keep disappearing when people copy it anew? ?? Should we maybe go to people crossing out what they didn't get, and capitalizing what they did?

After a very frustrating 2 hours of busy, we finally called DVC Member Services. Couldn't get either of our first choices, ended up with December 1 at 4:35 for 6 people. We really wanted November 29 or 30, but what can you do. We're just happy to get to try it at all.

i believe you are right in your thinking. Also with the place holding 550 seats it will likely NOT fill up so it does not make it an effective use of staff to run it. I know that when I go to the parties I book my dinners early so I can be done with dinner and not stuck in a restaurant (even if it's BoG) while the fun is going on. Plus if the park closes at 7 and you have a 7pm reservation it will get harder to get you out as I believe the wristband searching probably dies down a bit after the first hour. They won't even let non party goers in the gift shops on main street at or after 7pm. I know I was kicked out one year! lol!

Well, I'm just sort of thinking out loud. But I think there is just a limited number of people willing to pay for a party ticket and spend that much time sitting in a restaurant. So maybe not enough to fill all that would be open?

It's a shame though. If we weren't able to get into BOG on another night, I was totally willing to pay for an additional party ticket just to eat at BOG. Disney could have gotten more out of us.

Well, congratulations to all who got the reservations they were looking for and good luck for all who are still trying. Hang in there, something is bound to open up. Now all I have to wait on is the wishes fireworks dessert party for November and all will be finalized. Good luck to all looking for those as well.
