I was playing around on the Disney Food Blog last night and decided to subscribe to their newsletter and updates. They ran a feature on what they know about the area and restaurant to this point last week. It really wasn't too much more than we already know- although it was cool b/c they had pics of a scale model and they were able to pinpoint certain areas and show where the restaurant entrance would be, etc. They are usually a good source for breaking food news at DIsney - so it may be worth subscribing just to see updates. WDWMagic also has someone who does flyovers to track progress. So, pretty cool to be able to see updates via aerial shots.

I hate the waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a few days off this week...thinking I'm going to head to the Disney Store

From a few of the videos I've seen of the Imagineers speaking of the project and their progress...I get the impression they are not only very excited about the project, but emotional (in a positive way) about how it's progressing. If they do read any of this - I'm sure it has to make them happy to know.

So, I have a few days off from work, so I decided to take my girls to the closest Disney Store. My main motive was research related- wanted to see if they could accomodate us for handling DD3's 4th bday trip surprise + I wanted to see the Merida merch in person (they were already sold out of the darker colored dress but I got to see one on the mannequin- nice!). In any event...as we were entering the store, the music changed over and Be Our Guest started playing...i.e. it was also the video in the back. Of course, I know this is just coincidence...but considering how excited we all are...I once again decided to take it as a sign. Not that any of the signs seem to be working out so far, but hey- it fuels the fun.

I love this forum! This restaurant looks awesome and I had no idea it was even going to be there. We will be there in early December, so hopefully we will get a reservation!

Nobody knows...and the people answering the phones at dining are certainly full of creative answers. I think the million $ question is what does "in time for the holidays" really mean? Some say November pre-Thanksgiving, some say post Thanksgiving, some say early December, some say just before Christmas, and some even say soft openings in late October. I have a funny feeling we won't know until at least August or September. So, we just sit here waiting and wondering hoping that time will bring us more info. I mean, I think I could handle no info on an opening date if they'd at least give us some info on menu and some more looks inside... I mean, they've only shown us the ballroom, but the earlier projections called for 3 dining rooms. Oh well- hoping to hear more soon.

We'll be down during the same time. I hope it's open by then too!
