The Unofficial STROLLER Thread

I don't take it personally I don't own the volo but for some it is a better alternative. Myself on the other had even for as much as I love my techno I have moved on to wanting a new stroller I am partial to the BJCM but my requirements aren't the same as most so I don't know if it will work for me my next step up is a BOB or dreamer design. I haven't had the chance to discuss them w/ dh yet but I already know how it will go b/c I haven't gotten rid of enough of them to justify a new one yet. Its also hard to convince him and know that what I order is going to be right for me b/c there are no retailers close to me that carry these strollers so I have to hope I make the right decision.

I just wanted to say I got my stroller today. I and my son are very happy with it! He fits just fine, the storage is small, but its better than the no under storage I had with my jeep stroller! Me and Dh were in awe of how small it folds up, he's like why didn't you find this sooner.. lol

I was wondering if any of you feel nervous about leaving your strollers unattended while you go on rides? Do you normally leave your bags and things with the stroller? No one takes them or things you leave on them? (And I'm thinking about the strollers you take from home). I am looking to purchase a new stroller for the trip but if I'm going to spend a good chunk of money, I want to make sure it is safe???? I'm a worrier and have to explore all possibilities! Thanks for your opinions!

I'll be honest.. the stroller we took last time was only 80$ but I DID leave my purse and camera unattended at times.. I know I know.. I'm too trusting.. but nothing happened to them. ;)

I have NEVER had an issue with my stroller being taken or messed with. I never leave any valuables in it just in case....I keep valuables with us in my backpack or send purchases to our hotel. If you bring something from home ,for example a scarf to tie n the stroller so you can personalize it more, you most likely will be okay.:thumbsup2

Hi All,
I just received my 2007 Peg P3. I think I love it. I got it for $179.00 with free shipping, the price was definately right!
My other strollers are the Chicco Cortina and the Chicco umbrella stroller, I think the C6. The COrtina was too much for a Disney trip. I had planned to use the Chicco umbrella stroller for a Disney stroller, but we decided we needed more recline, plus it felt too short.

Question about the hood/sunshade. Is it just me or is there quite a bit of extra fabric there? I think it is so you can put the shade down further, just want to make sure I have it together correctly.

PS, I love the handle height, and so far it seems to fold decently easy, easier with the handles in the shorter position.
Thanks,
Michelle

Yup....I  my Pliko P3 and can't wait to bring it on our trip! Yes, there is a lot of extra fabric with the sunshade all the way back - but it is b/c you can pull it down to cover the entire front of the stroller, which is FANTASTIC! :thumbsup2 We used the Chicco Cortina on our last trip, and I knew I wouldn't bring it back..just felt a bit too bulky. Funny b/c I don't think the P3 is really that much smaller, just feels more "umbrella-like" and easier to fold.

That's it, I'm going to go ahead and order a Maclaren Techno! I keep going back and forth wondering if I should bring our Cortina or get the lighter Mac Techno XT.
Thanks for helping me decide :yay:

what websites for strollers have you found reputable? I was looking to buy a Maclaran Volo on Strollers.com and there was even free shipping. I wanted to see if anyone has ordered from there before or if anyone can recommend a good company that might offer free shipping?

Sorry, I asked a dumb question. This company appears to have just opened this week!
Denise:)

Below is a post about www.orlandostrollerrentals.com from another thread. I am also renting from them on our August trip. Their strollers are far and away the best ones that you can rent (The double is a $400 stroller).

this was my families first time going to Disney, we have a 4 and a 6 yr. old. We weren't sure if we should buy or rent or not even get a stroller when we got there. Someone told us about Orlando Stroller Rental and how easy they were to work with. Well let me tell you, what a pleasure and what a relief it was to deal with them!

The stroller was there waiting for us when we checked into the hotel with our name on it, set aside. When we left, we dropped it off at bell hop and never had to worry about a thing. The best thing with these strollers, we were able to take them out of the park, not having to carry the kids back to the hotel when they fell asleep. They were easy to manuever, close up, bring on the bus or boat.

I highly recommend this company and to them I say 'thank you' for making my first trip a memorable one, with one less thing to worry about. We'll be back!

We just got our P3 from bestbuybaby.com. Free shipping, arrived in less than a week. I also like albeebaby, but the same stroller was almost $100 more there. Returnsforsale is also a fun one, I read about it on this thread. No free shipping that I can find...

I think Albeebaby is an authorized dealer. They have some on sale for $80, not sure how much shipping is. If you buy one for $115 shipping is free though. http://www.albeebaby.com/maclaren.html

I just ordered from ebay, though that means I won't have a Maclaren warranty. The savings was too good to pass up.

here is another one w/free shipping http://babydealz.stores.yahoo.net/20mavobastsa.html

We have ordered strollers as well as carseats from Albeebaby and they have always been great!! :thumbsup2

thanks for the websites! I have looked at them and found another one called babydealz.com. I am also looking at the maclaren quest mod. Can anyone tell me if it steers and is lightweight like the volo? is it a better stroller than the volo? Does it have a big sunroof like the volo? does it have the mesh opening in the back?

I also have a question about the maclaren volos. the 2007 version has the mesh opening in the back, and the 2008 version has the mesh opening on the sides. Does the position of the mesh make a difference as far as comfort for your child? I would think the 2007 version would be less sweaty than the 2008??? :confused3 thanks for your help with everything, I usually buy cheap strollers and want to make sure I make the right decision for our trip. I want lightweight, easy to fold and a very big sun canopy to shield from the sun....

I have a question. I know the 2008 Maclaren Techno Xt & XLR has the hood that unzips and exstends, Does anyone know if the 2007 one's do? I was looking at a Techno. I don't know. I have a P3 and love it but I tried my 9wk old in a Techno and it laid down a little more, but I felt like the canopy covered him better. Any one know, or what would you do? I have the Volo for my 2yr old. My 4yr old will walk. I just want to make sure the baby has the best sun protection. Thanks

We orginally were going to rent a double stroller at the parks but for the price I would rather just buy one. What does everyone recommend? I thought about the Maclaren's, Chicco's, Peg Pergo's and Combi's.

My requirements are:

Able to hold both boys (they will be age 2 & 5 when we go)
A small basket underneath
Easy to steer and maneuver
Lightweight
Tall enough for my DH & I so we don't have to hunch over and kick the wheels when we are pushing it.
In the $200-$300 range.

Of course I would love to have a huge basket and cup holders but I can always make do without them or add them later.

Any suggestions?

I bought a Maclaren Quest Mod and I definitely need a cupholder for me. Any suggestions on where and what to buy? TIA
