The Unofficial STROLLER Thread

Has anyone ever used this jeep double stroller? It's only $80 at BRU.

Do you think it's better to have two umbrella strollers and clip them together? Would it be hard to push with a 3 and 5 year old? My son is about 40 lbs and my dd is about 28lbs?

I was thinking this....

Won't the wheels in the middle get tangled? Won't the strollers connected be too wide to fit through anything?

I know they are expensive...but the Phil & Teds Sports Buggy double stroller is GREAT. The 2nd child rides "under" - so easy to push and maneuver around.

I know i have heard wonderful things about them as far as pushing them, but I feel like the child riding "underneath" gets a crappy view of his siblings butt" kwim? I just want something where they both have a good view.

Check the previous page ;) I used it and someone else did also. My boys are the same ages and exactly the same weights as yours and the stroller was fine. DS5 was alittle tall for the seat but he did fine with it. The only problem I had was when he would rest his foot on the bottom part, sometimes it would act like a break and keep the wheel from moving but other than that, it was fine. No under the stroller storage, and no parent tray but it was perfect for Disney.

After coupons, I only paid about $60 for it.

Thanks! I read the first 5 pages of this thread and then just decided to post my question. I went to BRU and tried the jeep out and i found the same thing as you did. My son's head came a little above the seat back and his foot would make the rubber foot strap drag on the wheel. But everything else was fine. I think i'm going to buy the add-on mesh storage bags and maybe a water bottle holder and call it a day. It just seems like the best option and for $80 (i'll look for coupons in the mail) it just can't be beat. Consdering i would have paid $200 just on a rental at disney. Neither of my kids really use a stroller anymore.

We used the connectors last year in Europe and Disneyland Paris. They were fine for the most part, but sometimes the wheels did get tangled in the front. We did have 2 different strollers though, that weren't really the same frame (a Mac Volo and Inglesina Swift) so I'm sure that had something to do with it.

The only real issue I'd have with them in WDW vs what I did with them is that I'm not sure how easy it would be to fold them and carry them while connected. And if you unattach them then someone is carrying 2 strollers, which would be a pain.

We were in WDW last month and I bought a Mac Twin Triumph, though I always swore no double strollers. I took the kids myself with friends so I felt like I didn't have a choice cause it would be so hot and my kids would be so off schedule being with my friends' kids all the time so they'd need the rest. I paid $191 for it, plus shipping (came out to $203) and though it was more money than I wanted to spend, I figured the high weight limits meant I could use it on a future WDW trip too, whereas I couldn't with the Jeep as the weight limit is 35 or 40 lbs and my daughter weighs 35 lbs now. And compared to the rental prices, it was a great deal.

You're using the same logic we used. I just got a 15% coupon in the mail while we were gone that you're welcome too if you want it. I used that and a $10 off a stroller coupon. I'm in NJ also so it would obly take a day or 2 to get to you.

I thought that I had read somewhere that there is an umbrella stroller that you can buy on property? I think I might bring my umbrella stroller for my littlest, but it would be nice to know I have the option of buying an umbrella stroller while I am there if i need it. Has anyone done this? Do you know how much it runs?

Okay - I went to BRU yesterday and had ds try out all the strollers they had there that we might be interested in. Because of ds's tendancy to slide down in the seat and drag his feet the ones that worked the best for us were the Chicco Cortina and Trevi. I think I liked the Cortina best (over the Trevi only because we would get more longterm use out of it with the 50 vs 40 lb weight limit) but it was way heavier a stroller than I was originally looking for. Does anyone have one of these - how did you like it - did it seem too 'big' - did you take it to Disney - how was it getting on/off the buses? Thanks for any feedback!

The stroller they have for sale is no less than 40 dollars and you can see it on www.kolcraft.com it is red and black.

Jumping in....

First, thank you all! I have read the entire thread and done a bit of research online and narrowed my choices down to my top four picks. I would love to hear the good and especially the bad if you have any experience with the following strollers.

1. The Valco Buggster- currently in the lead **I think**. I like the looks of this one. It seems to be a good compromise between smaller/lighter stroller size and the features of a big stroller. My concerns with this one are will it be easy to fold? Will our son's legs jut out into the sunshine unless we have the UV cover on? Is it more stuffy under the UV cover? How are the handles for tall parents? I have to thank the previous poster (I am not going to go back and look through the thread right now as I am having computer issues) who posted the pictures of the adorable little boy in the lime green Buggster. I loved your review of the stroller and it was that post that got me thinking about a Buggster.

2.The Zooper Twist- I like the way the sunshade folds way down on this one. It looks to be an easy fold and the more conventional shaping means (I think) that our son's legs will be out of the sun. For those that have used it, pros, cons? Was it a "cool" (the actual temperature:laughing: not the status of it. ;) )stroller? Knowing we will be using this in Florida and the next week in the Caribbean means we will need a stroller that holds a minimal amount of heat.

3. The Mia Moda Cielo- The open sides on this one just seem "cooler" to me as it would be more breezy. The openness does concern me as far as how much sun will it block. I love the small fold size. Has anyone used one of these at WDW?

and last but not least 4. The Bumbleride Flyer- It doesn't fold nearly as compactly as the above strollers, but it does have a really cool feature that I think might work out well for our son, it can face forward so that ds can look around or reverse and face me while I push the stroller (if he gets into one of those "only mommy will do" moods). I haven't really been able to find many reviews on this stroller, any input would be helpful.

Our son will be a be 9 months for our first trip and we plan on taking four to five more trips by the time he is four...so, I want a stroller that will work now for our future trips.

TIA!!!:thumbsup2

My twins are 5 and "too big" for a stroller but I am so afraid that they will get tired that I am buying (i've already gotten rid of their old ones) an umbrella stroller $10 walmart to have to haul them through the airport and parks if need be. i will probably give it away at the end of the trip but I am a worrier and it is a small price to pay for piece of mind.

We have the Chicco Cortina and I do like it for "home" usage. When we go walking in the neighborhood we use it. I have never tried to use it at WDW however it is a pain in the rear at the mall or local museums. It takes up a lot of space in our Odyssey's back cargo area. It's very comfy (at least our son likes it) and I love the fabric on it (VERY easy to clean) and it rides very smoothly.

Like I said, I have never taken it to WDW, but I won't because of the hassle of lugging it along and I am looking for a better "out and about" stroller for our family. When my older boys were little, I had a bigger vehicle so lugging around a huge stroller didn't bug me. With number four being the stroller rider, it matters how much space a stroller takes up.

Those are my impressions...hope they help.

We are going to Disney for the first time in Dec. and I wasn't planning on bringing a stroller for dd5 and ds7.

Of course we are totally done with strollers at home. But now I am wondering if we should rent/buy one just to have as an option for the kids if they get tired out . Any suggestions? What are your experiences with 5 and 7 years old walking?? Thanks!

I bought the Zooper twist(in red) for our trip this past June for my 20 month old. I really liked it. I loved the canopy because it covered all of him when sleeping. I would unzip the back area about half way so he could get some air and I could still use the pocket on the back. He preferred the leg rest up. It did not recline as flat as I would have liked, but he seemed fine with it when sleeping. We hung a lot of stuff off of the handles and it never got tippy. He never seemed to get to warm in it even with temps in the mid to upper 90's while there. We used the rain cover a couple of times and it was easy to use.

I have a 5 and 6 year old and we come all the time. You need a stroller if you want to keep the kids happy all day. You will walk 5-7 miles per day while here. That beats the little one's up when repeated daily. See my post above. I rented from www.orlandostrollerrentals.com for our upcoming trip. See my post above.

I just wanted to say that your post had me second-guessing. I was all over the Zooper Twist...and may still go that route...but I checked up on the Mia Moda Cielo...and I don't know if you know but they have an updated version called the Cielo Evolution...and it has armrests...folds just as compact as before...but now I am thinking of that one instead of the Zooper Twist...ugh!!! I wish I could try them all out...but I don't have anywhere that I could line them up and give them a whirl!!! We will be flying and the thought of being able to carry my stroller onboard the plane...rocks...so we will see but wanted to put that out there...since you were concerned with the "openess". I was too...but just discovered this update...I don't know how long it's been out there...but I researched for some time and never seen it till now. Good Luck!!

WOW!! That is something I didn't see! Now that I have seen it....hmmmmmm. It looks like a much improved version! That places it solidly in my top three. :confused3 I am so confused! ;) Oh the tough decisions! ;) Thanks for sharing that!
