The Unofficial STROLLER Thread

OK Please help. I have gotten my search underway. I really can not fine a double stroller I LOVE so I wanted to know if anyone thinks these would help me. I was looking for a double stroller for my 1yo(25lbs) and almost 5yo(36lbs). It would really be used for disney and maybe a couple places here and there. I dont want to spend over $200. So I went to babies r us last night and came up with one of these 3. Can you help me with the choice?

A little over budget but had undersotrage and cup holder. Only thing is my daughter head comes past the top of the seat on all the double strollers.

The tires on this one felt like they were going to come off. Maybe they didnt put it together right? Same thing with my daughters head being to high.

Baby Jogger double question:

I see that Baby Jogger has the City Classic and the City Mini - does anyone know what the difference is between them. They are so expensive I want to make sure I am buying the best one. I have 13 month old twins and am hoping this will be the last stroller I buy. Thanks!

I just had to post my very positive stroller experience.......

My daughter is 20 months old and just a tad under 3feet and is 30lbs. She had grown out of most of her strollers and we really wanted one she would be comfortable in for a few years. After much searching and researching, we found the Baby Planet Solo Deluxe. There is a color that they are apparantly discontinuing.....so instead of paying $229 for the stroller, we paid $148. DD LOVES this stroller. It is cooshy and comfy and the first day we got it, she sat in it for over an hour, just chillin' and putting her sippy in the cup holder. Check it out if you are in the market for a single stroller. It holds up to a 55lb toddler and another 10lbs of 'stuff'. I just hope she still likes it as much as she does now, in October when we head to 'the World' :thumbsup2

Have you looked at the Joovy Caboose? It is a sit and stand stroller that is great for a 5 yr old and a 1 year old. My daughter has it and it is a great stroller. Very easy to push and the 5 yr old has lots of great options, sitting, standing or walking beside the stroller and hanging on to the handle.

My daughter wanted a sit and stand but she gets very tired at the end of the day and usually falls asleep in the stroller. This is what she does at hershey park and other small parks. I know it will happon at disney;)

We actually went and bought a Baby Trend Double Jogging Stroller with Swivel Wheel.

It seemed like the best one. It turns so good. And had all the features I wanted. Only thing is it is a little bulky. The age limit says 12-24 months but my daughter is only 36 pounds. I think she will be fine. Has anyone used this stroller?

 Could someone help me and tell me whether or not side by side strollers fit on the monorail?! I'm a bit worried i will have to keep folding it up every time!!

Yes, our Mac Twin fit (side by side). It was great to be able to let my sweet princesses sleep on our way "home". :thumbsup2 The Monorails have ample space to get in and out although they do get crowded during peak times.

On a side note, when we took our double jogger last year, we had to make sure we "lined up" perfectly at the entrance gates to fit through (scraping the side of the wheels). No issues with the Mac Twin.

They have recently redone the monorails so that the middle bar between the posts have been taken out and strollers of all sizes fit much better.

I have the buggster and it would be a great WDW stroller.

Anyone with questions re strollers moight want to join the yahoo group strollerSWAP. It is run by the strollerqueen. (strollerqueen.com) and they can answer any question on strollers. The differences between brands and types as well. Also they have a swap/sell area that you can get great deals.

I believe the difference between these two are the wheels on the classic are larger than the wheels on the mini. These are awesome strollers but are very hard to get.

Thanks - sounds like that will make the classic push better!!

We just got back from WDW yesterday. We have an almost 3 year old DD and took our Joovy Caboose. It was wonderful!!!!!!!!! I am so thankful that we brought the sit and stand so that she could hop on and off very easily (plus we could use the front seat for storage if she wasn't in it. She could also sleep in the front seat if needed (and she did).
I recommend this stoller for those that only have 1 (can't say for those with 2 as I don't have 2:confused3 )

Ah HA! I don't know why I couldn't find this before? Anyone know what the difference is between all the Combi tri fold strollers? Urban, flare ect ect.. I ordered a Flare yesterday (Amazon $59.99 -$20 promo GC= $39.99 and free shipping of course) but they also have the Urban on sale for 62$ on Amazon. I can NOT for the life of me see a difference? I do not have a store around me that sells these so I can't go check them out in person.. I still have time to change my order but I dont know if I should or not?? HELP PLEASE! Ds is 3 42" and about 35 pounds.. This will be used about 2 times a month I dont need anything extravagant... just something to use while we go to the zoo every now and then.. Thank you!

Maybe someone can help me. We are going to WDW in January and in the past, my regular double stollers have been fine. Now my kids are bigger-40 lbs and 50 lbs, so they just won't fit anymore. My DD will be 7 and I know she won't need a stroller all the time, but we want to be prepared if she will need to ride. I was considering 2 Maclaren Volos and I found some pretty good prices on ebay for older models. My question is some of them say they hold 40 lbs and some say 55. Do they change from year to year? Thanks!

have you looked at BOBs? They have quite a high weight rating, I think it was around 70lbs for my single and 100 for the double. I love mine....

Good luck with what ever you choose!

There really is no difference between any of the combi strollers except the year model and they then what they call some are carseat compatible and maybe the way it reclines. The only one that would be different from the other tri folds is the helio b/c it holds up to 55 pounds.

IMHO, I would keep and eye out for something else that you might like b/c at the size that you describe your ds he will be a bit big for it. This may not happen to you but several people on the disboards have posted this experince w/ the stroller. I can't access my laptop right now b/c our wonderful new pup chewed the cord for it and I haven't gotten a new one yet so I can't post pics of what my dd7 looked like when she was in it at that height and age.

I figure if he doesn't fit the next one will ;) Right now we have a cheap jeep umbrella we use and its on its last legs... I'm not about to spend 115$ on the cheapest MAC that's out there for him. He's only in the stroller MAYBE 2 times a month.. I can not justify the cost right now with a new baby on the way and the baby still needed a carseat!

Oh and the urban and flare also hold up to 55 pounds. it looks like the flare reclines (which is no big deal for us since he stopped napping at 1.5) and the urban doesn't...Thank you for letting me know there isn't a big difference between them!

W/ a new baby coming you will get a good bit of use out if check to see what the guidelines are as far as newborn use there might be a difference. You can actually get a volo brand new for 75 shipped on ebay but sellers do list them as well for less all the time so if you like them watch for them and don't forget craigslist I have seen them on there for as cheap as 50 dollars even triumphs. Over all it may work well for you but others move on from it especially when they don't have a new baby to use it for. I have to admit I long for the days when I had my combi but it was better for me to move up to the mac techno b/c it suited my needs much more. In the end what will make the difference is how much you do and don't like it.

Anyone know what advantages the Mac Quest has over the Triumph? Does the Quest have the carrying strap?

I believer the quest has a handle on the side like the techno and not a strap the only other difference is the deeper recline.

Flare can be used from infant on up since it has a deep recline. :thumbsup2 Dont take this the wrong way but I think the volo's are ugly? :confused3 Craigslist doesn't have a town near me closest one is philly which is almost 2 hrs away.. :headache:
