The Unofficial Golf at Disney FAQ Thread

I was wondering what type of clubs do they rent and how much? Also what type of shape they are in? Thanks Joe

Well If I remeber right they have a high grade and low grade typ clubs. I belive the last time I seen someone use them one of the sets where cobers, weather or not these where high or low i dont know:confused3. They see like In pretty good shape but its like bowleing shoes they will get worn pretty quick. If your not that worried about your game and just looking for a nice fun round, they will be just fine. I am In it just for fun but play only my clubs,i would never use anyones else:scared1:

So we went ahead and added the waterparks and more option. So i get rounds of golf at Oak trail, compare to the other courses how does It rank?. Walking??, is it a pain to walk?, i plan on going to the parks after words, and I was wondering if i am going to need a nap after words?, i usually dont when i play the other courses. In our 10 day stay I am playing all four of the Disney courses, and on my off days I am planning on htting the Oak trail course 2 or three times and was just wondering what I am faceing. I have play the other courses before so I know what I am expecting there so i am trying to base it off those courses. thanks all.:goodvibes

Not that central Florida is mountainous by any stretch of the imagination, but Oak Trail is expecially easy to walk since it's so flat. I had a great time playing it with my fiancee, and she rarely plays. Water comes into play on five of the holes and proved to be a fun course to play. Enjoy!

Do they offer that two rounds for one price offer In Sept?. I am going to half to stay to my 7am tee times? and I plan on doing all 4 Disney courses so I like to in on any deals I can find.

In case you still need to know this, the answer is:

Titleist cavity back irons with steel shafts

Cobra cavity back irons with graphite shafts

If I recall correctly the Titleists are stiff flex and the Cobras are regular flex. Matching woods for each set (the Titleists get Titleist woods, etc.), though those Titleists do have stiff graphite shafts, I think.

When I played the Magnolia in March one of the guys I played with was using a set of the Titleist rentals. I think they were AP2s and 910 woods, so pretty recent models and in decent shape. In a Titleist bag, of course.

We have the water park and more option on our tickets for our upcoming trip in September. Do we need to go ahead and make a tee time with a credit card and then just show them our KTTW card? Im not sure how all of that works since green fees are included in the water park and more option tickets.

Yep,we are dong the same thing. I had to go and make tee times for any of the days I was playing. Remeber its a walking course they do not rent golf carts out on Oak trail. Have fun:cool1:

Hello,
in August 2012, we'll go in USA (one week in New York, one week in Miami , one week in Disney).

I'm french, and the price of iron, driver bag, etc are really expensive.

So my question is : as i'll stay in Miami one week, is the price of iron, driver etc is better in Disney compare to Miami golf shop (Alf Golf Shop Miami for example) ?

Thanks a lot.

My suggeston is to buy out side the pro shops. If you goto international dr there are a large number of golf shops to chose from and you will more then likely save $$ on clubs. Now want buy a dozen golf balls ok(althougth i am shipping mine down, there stiil alot cheaper then buying at the pro shop

Im so confused! Im not a golfer..but my husband and son are. They were excited when they seen that the Waterpark & More option included golf.

So...here is my question(s). Is it 1 round of golf per person on the tickets?

Is it either/or...like...if they do the golf..can they not do the Sports complex or Disney Quest?

They dont plan on taking any clubs..do they rent the clubs? How much additional?

Any information would be GREATLY appreciated!

I just clarified this the other day with Cheshire Figment, the resident ticket guru. It is only oak trail. It is one round per person per day. I'm not sure about the golf club rental. Dbf brought his own clubs last year.

I thought I read where you can rent them for free,if you are staying a disney resort??. So on the golf at Oak trail. For example,if you bought a 5 day water park and more option. I therior you would be able to go 5 times. Now that would mean you could not do anything else on the water park option eather,so you could do 2 days of water parks and 3 9 hole rounds of golf. I hope that help:confused3,or i just made it all more confusing:goodvibes

Im wondering the same thing. Can I rent clubs for free if Im staying onsite?

I believe (but cannot now find the link) that it's free rental on the 18 hole courses, but not for Oak Trail.

So I know that Oak trail Is a walking course only but do they make medical exceptions?, I have a sirrotic nerve that runs into my hip and down my legg when I try to do both walk and play golf. It sounds lazy but it hurts like anything.:scared1:. So we have the water parks and more option and would like to play oak trail, but I do not think i could walking. Is there any chance I could get a cart??

This is a question to ask the Guests with Disabilities line at Disney: (407) 824-4321. Or post it on the disAbilities board here on the DIS.

Yes, and to me it'll be interesting to hear what the answer is. Wasn't there a Pro golfer in the PGA who had to go thru all kinds of special appeals to be able to ride in a cart on tour events because of a leg/back issue?

so i posted this question over on the disabilty fourm. Unfourntly It came up with the answer I feguried:
So I have a saratoic nerve/lower back pain that really Inflames when i walk and play golf, the twisting and walking just does not help my hip. So we have the water park and more option and with that I can play at Oak trail, but its a walking course and I just dont think i can do both. Is there any way that I can rent a cart?:confused3

I was told no, so I ended up sending the family without me and did the laundry. Yep, sometimes being disabled has it's definite downfalls.
I also try calling Disney In the past and was told the same thing Disney has these funny rules that they will just not bend on:confused:

Oh well I am not going down with out a fight LOL:rotfl2:. I am going to set the tee times up any way and try to walk it. I do not want the pain to ruin my trip and my fun,i can ice/heat it on the flight home:woohoo:.
So any good remedies for hip, back and legg pain while out on the course or even in the parks:thumbsup2.

Boy, oh, boy-this is exactly what I'd like to know also. I'm going in 3 weeks and my back (spinal stenosis, bulging discs, and spinal arthritis) are already "complaining" in anticipation. Extra-large back patches (Icy-hot) help sometimes temporarily. But I've never tried them for golf.
