The Unofficial Golf at Disney FAQ Thread

DH and ds16 just played Magnolia and Osprey this past week.
They were wowed by both but Osprey was their favorite. Good games there too!
The GPS on cart was fantastic and they were amazed to see armadillos everywhere. So our photos are of those little rascals. LOL.

Got the rate for $92 (around there) as twilight and resort guest which was a bargain for us.

Disney still hasnt posted rate information beyond May 10th, however it looks like the resort guest rates will be as follows...

Osprey Ridge - $135, - $75
Magnolia - $135, Twilight - $75
Palm - $125, Twilight - $70
LBV - $125, Twilight - $70

Non-resort guests are usually $20 more, but this cant be confirmed yet as May 10th is still outside the 60 day window.

The price slice has still not be added to the site yet so stay tuned.

Also something that I found interesting, I could not find a single tee time available after June 1st for Osprey Ridge. There seemed to be plenty all the way up till May 31st, but after the 1st there was nothing. Perhaps there is nothing to it, but I found it interesting...

Thanks! I was going to post today and ask if you had heard anything about the price slice yet. I can't make t-times until March 19th but I check the web-site every day to see if they have announced the price slice yet! Sure would be nice.....

I have an answer to one of the previous questions!!! Yes you can use OLD plus options to play Oak Trail for Free. My grandparents had old non-expiration plus tickets from about 7 years ago that had 3 plus options left on both tickets. My dad and I went this past November and had no problems using them for Oak Trail. Makes for a nice "Free" 9 holes at Disney!!!

We are playing the Magnolia, Palm, and LBV when we go down in April/May this year!!! Another tip for any DVC'ers out there and I think FL residents....you can buy a golf member for $50 a get dicounted rates for one year. We are playing in April/May 3 different times at a rate of $39 after 10am. I called on our 90 day mark and had no problems getting a 10am tee-time on any of the courses. The membership more than pays for itself pretty much the first time you use it. We figure it will cost us $240 for 2 of us to play 3 times in April/May instead of the normal $600+ we would have to normally pay just being a resort guest. SOmething to think about if you live in FL or are a DVC member :)

Thats great information, thank you for sharing:thumbsup2 Glad to hear they are honoring the old Plus tickets for Oak Trail.

Enjoy your upcoming rounds, I'm jealous!

Thanks so much Simba. I was the one who asked and have been watching this thread daily as our 90 days will be on Sunday. You answered my question just in time. Although we probably would have added the pluses if we could not use our old ones. It seems as if it would be cheaper to add the pluses on to our 7 day ticket rather than pay for golf. Now we just have to decide which courses to play. I guess we could just book everyday and decide which days to keep when the forecast comes out. June in Orlando on the golf course sounds hot and humid.

Yea it will be hot and humid, especially since much of the courses wind through swamp;) Sounds like you have a good plan, just be mindful of the 48 hour cancellation policy. A buddy of mine forgot to change his group from 4 to 3 people within the time frame and they tried charging him a penalty. Luckily there was a single looking to join a group so that kinda got him out of it.

Be aware they have many non published specials for Disney Golf. When you call to make a tee time ask.

In the past we have gotten Pay $50 up front, and get twilight rates @ 10:00am instead of 2:00pm. Play 2 rounds and you are making money.

Also, the will frequently have buy 1 at regular price get 1 free greens fees.

Saw this thread and had to read it since DH is a golfer and plays daily when we are at WDW -- it's how I convinved him that DVC was for us! ;)

The info is GREAT and it is wonderful to have it all in one place.

I have one discount to add that might be helpful to some ... Disney offers a Military discount, too!!

In the past it has been $50 per round, any course, as long as you played after 10:00am and you could only book it 24 hours inadvance. Apparently this has changed this year but it is still a pretty good deal! :thumbsup2

Currently, and we all know how things can change at a moments notice, Military members with an ID can play a round for the same price as DVC but without having to pay for the $50 Golf Membership. AS Deej696 stated, the rates will run from $39 to $139 depending on the season you are playing. Please note that the DVC "seasons" are not always the same as Disney's seasons. You still have to play after 10:00am and can only book your tee time 24 hours prior.

Hope this helps!

How hard is it to get tee times. We are hoping for a price slice time if they offer it. Do we need to call 90 days prior or do we have some leeway? Thanks for all the great information so far.

I would say it depends on when you are going. It sounds like you are going in June. You should have NO problem getting a tee-time give or take 30 minutes. I booked our April/May tee-times exactly on the 90 day mark and then for fun went and checked the disneyworld website to see what is available. I booked tee-times between 10am and 10:20am everyday we are playing at the 90 day mark and as of today (which is about 58 days out) we still could get tee-times at 10:40am. So....I'm thinking you should have no problem but the earlier you can book them the better!!!

Thanks for the great adds:thumbsup2 I ment to add the military discount to the original post the other day but forgot, I'll get it updated asap!

As the PP mentioned, it really just depends, but I've had no problem getting close to the time I wanted within 30 days. So long as you are flexible on course and exact time, then you should have no problem. If you have a specific course or time you want to play, then I'd try to make it as early as possible! Enjoy:thumbsup2

Hi....just booked my tee time for April 30th at LBV....

I will be renting clubs...do you recommend just showing up and saying you need rentals or do you have to book them ahead of time...

Thanks.

Maybe someone else knows better, but I dont think there's really a way to "reserve" clubs. You shouldnt have any problem just letting them know in the pro shop when paying your green fees...

Interesting updates on the the golf site today. The rates beyond May 10th still arent officially listed, but they seem to have lowered them for any time of day to $89-99 on all the courses. From what I can tell, it looks like all of the courses are $89 during the week and $99 on the weekend, regardless of what time you play. Still nothing on the price slice, but these rates look a lot better than they were about a week ago.

There are also tee times available in June for Osprey, so my earlier thinking that it may be out of the system seems to be off for now:)

Just thought I'd bump this thread up so it doesn't get lost :)

GoofTroop:
No need or way to "reserve" clubs. Just let them know when you show up and they will gladly load a set on a cart for you. Enjoy LBV and leave a few birdies out there :) We are playing the Palm on the 4/30 and then LBV on 5/1.

Curious, anyone have any experience with golf near Disney's Vero Beach resort? We are staying there for a few nights in July, and I want to get in a round. The concierge suggested a few courses, and I figured I would check here too...

How are non-foursomes handled. Me and my buddy will be there in June and might like to play but there will only be 2 of us. Will we be paired up with another twosome or will we be allowed to play as two?

Bob You may or may not be paired with one or two others. It just depends on how busy it is. You can be paired with a low or high handicap player, not necessarily with one of the same skill level.
