The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

Hi,

Happy Easter! I left SD and am now at DL. Grabbing a bite at Whitewater Snacks. On the way here a car to my left honked at me and waved. It startled me at first but the passenger had Mickey ears on and waved a Yoda doll at me lol . Then I realized it's because I have a Disney license plate :rotfl:

Hope you feel better soon Kelly!

Trams with doors, hmmm I will have to look for a pic.

Earthquake.. cool!

okay okay I know not so cool when it's happening :rolleyes1
As long as you keep your cool, be safe and it doesn't cause damage.. you have to admire the power of the earth.

I feel the same way about thunderstorms and tornadoes, they are so common place for us in the spring and summer months that we forget that others would be terrified. Our tornadoes tend to not touch ground in the metro area, though we had a few one day close to downtown..extremely unusual weather pattern and no warning.

Personally, I hated fire season. That was a big shock to us.

Good morning and happy monday all!

Rochelle I hope you had fun at DL!! Hope it wasn't too crowded! How weird about the doors on the trams! I'm not surprised though after some people have fallen out. Let me guess they are those kind like at universal that are more like bars that come down once everyone is in? Or are they actual doors? It was bound to happen. People don't watch their kids or themselves, fall out, sue disney and wa la, doors! ;)

Sara and all the so cal ladies hope all is well after the quake!

Bernice I agree. Eventhough at the TIME quakes and such can be scary since you never know how bad they can be, if you KNEW that they would be no big deal and you could just ride it out, I am like you I admire them and think they can actual be kind of neat as LONG as no one is hurt or no damage! I lived in Northridge in 87 and we had a 6.9 and that was pretty scary. I was on the 7th floor of a brick dorm bldg and it shook pretty good.

Also felt the Loma Prieta quake in 89 pretty good up here. That one was pretty scary!

I like Tornadoes and hurricanes but only to watch not when they hurt people or do damage. I agree I think mother nature is amazing but can also be frightening.

And you are right fires can be devestating. That is one of my biggest fears after losing one of my kids is losing my home to a fire! We had a family on our swim team whose home was completely lost during a meet last year. All they had was the clothes on their back and their one car. We were at an away meet too so they had virtually nothing. I felt SO awful for them and our team really came together and donated a LOT to them but nothing can replace your memories!!!

Anywho yesterday it was pretty dreary here but the girls were able to do a limited hunt in the back yard at grandmas but I just was NOT feeling hot and we had an earlier than usual dinner. We had brought over a movie and my parents had talked about playing some games or cards but I just wanted to get back home cuz I was feeling so lousy. I even considered going to the urgent care but once I got home and got my meds and got comfortable I felt a bit better and ended up going to bed pretty early.

I think I am going to try and skip work today and go in either tomorrow or wed instead and give it one more day. When I get a REALLY bad migraine like this it sometimes takes a few days to feel completely 100% again.

I hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday and has a good week this week getting back to the "norm" ;)

We start swim tonight which I am actually NOT looking forward to cuz it is raining and cold and me still not feeling well but alas it must be done. And I have a girl scout meeting on Friday so hopefully the weather starts looking up and I start feeling better soon!

Take care everyone and have a GREAT week!! :)

I don't mind earthquake, they don't really scare me.

During the Northridge Quake my grandma and grandpa's mobile home collapsed (in Simi Valley) so even though my grandma didn't feel it yesterday she was getting very nervous when we started talking about it, especially since it's just her now.

I hope you all have a good Monday. It's raining here right now. :sad2: and very windy.

Pix, where you at Disneyland during the Earthquake? I read online that they closed down the rides for a few hours. :confused3

Morning! well, it's 9 minutes afternoon here on the ECoast. this is my first post. Hi! I'm Twigs. I'm in the midst of planning our families first DLand trip. My husband & i grew up in SoCal (Valencia), but this will be our girls (age 3.5 & 1.5) first trip to DLand. we're staying at the DLand Hotel & i've purchased the 'minnie' magic meal. i'm trying to plan everything out now. we have x4 days of park hoppers...

Hi and WELCOME to the dis and to this thread! I am sure if you are from So cal you prob already know everything there is to know but if you DO have any questions feel free to ask. Also there is LOTS of great info in the main Disneyland forum as well!

How fun for your girls.

My name is Kelly and I live in Northern CA and I am an annual passholder so I try to get to the park at least once a year if not two or more. I was just there in Feb/March and am going back with my mom and girls in June and we lucked out and got a room at the Grand Cal. I stayed at DL hotel in Oct and it was nice. We usually just stay at the cheapie good neighbor hotels on Harbor to save money but we got some GREAT deals and stayed at DL hotel, Paradise Pier and now the Grand so we are getting a little extra Disney magic! :)

Nice to meet you and look forward to talking with you!! :)

thanks for the warm welcome. i just posted a thread in the main area with all the specs of our trip. i'm a bit overwhelmed with trying to map everything out. i still need to sew up my girls their cutesy outfits. we leave in 2ish weeks. i'm t-minus from freaking out.

Pix, where you at Disneyland during the Earthquake? I read online that they closed down the rides for a few hours. :confused3

I was eating at Whitewater Snacks and felt nothing. I was leaving the place and this mom was screaming for her husband and kid to get away from the entrance of the day spa. She said "It's still moving! Get away from the doors!!" I thought she was just crazy or something. :rotfl: I honestly felt nothing.

At DL a mass of people left the park but others went to watch the marching bad sing the national anthem on Main St, and most went into shops or something and waited for the parade. I know some rides closed which upset some guests, but I know they needed to inspect the rides afterwards. I just went and got a dole whip float, went into some shops in Frontierland and Fantasyland and Main St. I returned that Dooney and Bourke purse. I figured I would rather "pimp" my own bags right now and also bought those 2 bags I posted pics of on the other thread (because it's less expensive). Right now DL has a promo where you get 20% off with your AP until May 2nd. I was wondering why my discounts were so large. :rotfl: The shop on Main St where I got the bag (the one next to Blue Ribbon Bakery), they got in that bag you like. They also have a large version of it. Some lady bought the large version and it was $225 but tax and her husband got upset. :scared:

Hi and welcome! :yay: My name is Rochelle and everyone calls me Pix or Pixster. :) I like the name Pixster :) I'm 29 years old, recently got out of a nasty relationship with my ex bf of 13 years. No kids, never married (thank God) and I live in Los Angeles. I have a Premium AP and frequent the parks and just love Disney :)

Hello!
New to the chatterbox thread, decided it was time I stopped lurking 'round these parts.

My name is Cristabel and I'm a Disneyland AP holder. I go to Cal State Fullerton, which is very close to DL, so I'm blessed to be able to go frequently.

Good morning ladies!

Hope everyone is having a good day so far. I STILL am not feeling well and tried to call my stupid doc after I picked up the girls from school yesterday and then they didn't call me back soooo they recommended I go to the dumb ER. NOT what I wanted to do. If you go to the ER here and are not being wheeled in on a gurney you will sit there till the next DAY before you are seen so NOT desirable. SOOOO I have an apt this morning. I am glad I am NOT dying because it really ticked me off that they didn't call me back!

I had a doctor that I did not like at ALL and I finally got up the nerve to switch and was SO happy with her and our hospital and everything and then my husband's union switched ins which meant I had to switch doctors cuz my other one didn't take my new ins. I was SOOO bummed! This new one refused to give my kids the swine flu shot becuase they were "new patients" and now this!

They have messed up my meds that I have been on for YEARS because "they" aren't the ones who prescribed them and just don't get it and this PA that I have seen thinks that with my migraines that I should just basically "deal" with them and if they are bad just "go to the ER" Yeah right. I have a job and a LIFE thanks! I can't just go to the ER every time I get a migraine! I would be there every week! I FINALLY was getting things resolved with my old ins. I had a neurologist that was really helping me and a primary that "got it" and now this! SO frustrating.

I just hope when I go in today that I don't face more of the same! UGH!

Anyway I hope everyone is well and wish me luck! I think I'm going to need it!

Good morning everyone! Hope all are doing well. Looking forward to a new day here. The hospital's new CEO will have his first full day here. Im hoping it goes well. He seems like a nice enough guy. And I love that he is so passionate about patient care. Its great to work for a company that cares about its patients and the quality of care that they are being given. I had a meeting with the CEO yesterday, and he is exactly what I think our facility needs to take it from good to great. Days like this make me remember why I work in health care and remind me why I love it. Can't wait to make a difference today. On the other side....with a new CEO also comes changes. We will see what happens.

Have a good one!!

Hi everyone. I know I haven't been around lately, I'm sure you all noticed. ;):lmao:
I've actually been a little busy going through some stressful things with dh and his work. We were hoping to move back to America, yay. But the offer his company made him to move back wasn't very promising so we counter offered and they said no. They didn't even try to negotiate they just flat out said no. So now, I'm not sure what we're going to do. We'll have to weigh our options and I hate this. We could make it work on the offer they gave us but things would be tight, and with me going to school in a few months we would be depending on his salary alone. Argh. Stress.

Anyway, I hope you're all doing better. Pixter sounds like you're getting stronger and beginning to feel more confident about your independence.
As for all you ladies on holiday - LUCKY!

That sounds nice. I think it's always so great when someone that is caring is in an authoritative role because I think it's quite rare. Hopefully the changes will all be good ones, for the best!

Just sliding by for a quick HI!
wow, lots of new chattery posters-- awesome!

Waiting for my fave training nurse and a tech to come set up a new touch screen to Eloy's machine, it will do the blood pressure and charting for us, using blue tooth to send it to the computers at the clinic. No more fax, no more calls of "where are your flow sheets??!", no question "is this a real blood pressure reading?" by the neph each month... .. sigh yes, really!

I will get trained today and will have to show Eloy how it works. The nurse said it's super easy. Cool, because it takes me awhile to figure out these things sometimes. :thumbsup2

Good Morning,

Sunday night was really difficult for me. I ended up calling him. Ughhhhh...I know, why? Stupid move on my part. :guilty: Basically he said he does not care about me, he doesn't appreciate anything I have done for him, he could care less about that. He doesn't miss me because he forces himself to not think about me or our breakup. At the same time, he told me that he still loves me and I said: "How can you love someone and be mean to them? You do NOT love me at all because that's not how you treat someone you love. You don't treat them like crap!" He said: "You can still love someone and be mean to them. Parents can love their kids but they will still be mean to them." WTH kind of thinking is that?? He also said that he feels no remorse for anything he has done to me. He said he wants to just focus on himself (this proves he is selfish). During our conversation I mentioned that a stranger had told me I was pretty cute (I was talking about that CM encounter I mentioned before). I didn't tell him it was a girl or guy who said it. I told him he never made me feel like I was special or beautiful and had not said any of those things to me in a long time. He said: "You should go out with that guy then, since he said you're cute"

He was really immature, just played on his keyboard and ignored me and also made yawning noises. I told him he was emotionally abusive towards me for 13 years. He said: "Oh, I was emotionally abusive? So I was never nice to you during the past 13 years?" I said: "No, you weren't. " He was only "nice" temporarily to get whatever it was that he wanted and then it was back to being mean.

I don't know how someone can not feel remorse and be so heartless and cruel. Especially if he himself had admitted that I never mistreated him in any way and that I don't deserve that. He makes no sense and everything out of his mouth is b.s.

Anyway, I don't want to have to worry about whether or not he will contact me again, so yesterday, I decided to change my cell phone #. He has my home phone # but the thing is, I am not home much and I don't answer the phone. Even my family calls me on my cell phone.

My parents are out of the country for a business trip and they text messaged me last night and said: "Got your new #. It's good for you, love you."

Weekends are just so dang hard for me and I hate it. I try to keep busy and it's hard. At least this weekend I start my sewing class but it's not until Sunday.

I did delete him from my cell phone too. I know I have his # memorized but I don't want to see his name or # in my contact list.
