The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

I forgot...
I had Eloy buy a Neil Med rinse during his last cold. He used it but whined about "feeling like I'm trying to drown myself", that was enough for me to think-- heck no I'm not sticking that thing up my nose. :snooty: But I rarely get sinus drippy colds, once year one really bad cold or flu (not the tummy yuckies that people call flu... the real I-feel-like I've-been- hit -by-a- Mac -truck -and- I -think - I'm - going - to - die flu.)

The trick to using it is to open your mouth and keep breathing like normal. If you hold your breath you get that feel like I'm trying to drown myself thing.

I haven't had a cold in a few years...actually the last time I remember having a cold was a few years ago in the middle of our WDW trip.

Oh and the Neilmed Sinus Rinses don't work very well if you actually have a cold. They work way better to prevent colds. As a matter of fact you aren't supposed to use them if you have a stuffy nose.

He was drippy more than stuffy, it worked a bit, made him feel a little better.

I'm thinking a mixture of cheapie budget meals in the park or elsewhere plus whatever I bring from home (or grocery shop).

I have a $25 Rainforest Cafe GC plus I have the membership which nets a free appetizer with purchase of entree (or 20% off the bill). I've done shared plates at Rainforest because the portions are HUGE for many of the items. We've done one or two entrees and one appetizer as an entree for my family (no drinks) -- less than $10 with tax/ tip for all four of us after the GC. Breakfast is good too, they have a breakfast pizza that is a "must share"

I ordered a $10 gc for Pizza Hut.. but it hasn't arrived  need to bug MyPoints and see what happened.

There is a grocery store a few blocks from the hotel, not sure how walkable for distance. Or we could arrange for Von's to deliver groceries -- but not sure what to buy? Dr pepper, water, shelf stable milk for cereal?:confused3

I haven't decided if I will pay ($15) for checked bag or will carry on. I like not having to deal with a bag, I could use my larger bag and add some snackage to bring (breakfast, bars, soups.. mmm the Annie Chun noodle or soup bowls are not too bad nutritionally and taste good! I love how coupons let me try new products with no money, no loss if it sucks! LOL) .

Saturday... a meal in the park definitely! Maybe counter service style and choose based on the interest of the group? Or storytellers (never been there)? There is not much I particularly like at BB or Cafe Orleans plus I feel its overpriced. The Cove bar would be fun, but maybe the day visitors in our group will only have DL passes?

Story tellers is AMAZING. So yummy.. But also, SUPER spendy. But again.. YUMMY!:lmao: It really is one of the best places to eat, our family agrees with Alisons!:lmao:

And Dr. pepper!!! YUM! I know my Dr. pepper addiction is why I am fat and broke!:rotfl2:

Not sure about the rest - but my family will have AP's, so anywhere on Saturday would be okay with us. As of right now we do not have a time that we are leaving - obviously we will have to check out - but we have a night in laughlin to break up the drive home :thumbsup2

Any ideas on a cheap room for Wednesday? DH wants to leave about noonish or so on Wednesday and drive straight through???

Sarah, everybody in the house is drooling over your new helmet!!!!!:thumbsup2

Technichly it's DBF's helmet now. He has the monster gear and graphics and the helmet was painted with Monster Logos and pin striped in green and white.

DBF was watching practice when they called to tell me I had won. I tried to call his cell phone but he didn't hear it so his cousin and I went back in the pits to get it and it took forever, then we had to wait for them to find the lady with the microphone and I just knew the whole time DBF was probably wondering where we were and probably getting mad that I left him with my bro and his nephew. :rotfl: He was texting me asking me where I was and I didn't write him back because I wanted to suprise him.

We finaly got the helmet and got to our seats and you should have seen the look on DBF's face. :rotfl: As well as the people around us. We heard one guy say he spend $150 on raffle tickets trying to win the helmet.

I still use mine every couple of days and I haven't gotten sick in a long time. :thumbsup2

The cheap but not scary hotels that have been discussed recently on the boards ...
Motel 6 (completely remodeled to retro funk style, very minimalist and comfy beds)

Anaheim Plaza

Hojo with Entertainment Rate

Quality Inn and Suites, the one just around the corner from Hojo's has good reviews and frequently listed on various sites for lower cost than their own web site.. turn in online form and they will lower the rate to match plus another 10%

Super 8 on Katella

My sis burst out today and exclaimed she needed a vacation, of course she does! Told her she should join me, at first she said no I can't afford it and "do you know how much mess they will create when I'm gone?"

..and then she sat and pondered..

could see the wheels turning
"let me know how much it would cost me"

No promises. Chances are she won't be going, she's not a Disney fan and doesn't quite understand our fascination of DL "going again???" Besides, not sure who would take care of her kidlets. :confused3 But it would be great for her to get away, she needs some major de-stressing!

I had suggested a Vegas trip a year ago, she looked at me all crazy like " why would I go there? I don't gamble"
True, neither do I but it's fun to just GO. :teleport:

We dont gamble... but we still got married in Vegas. :confused3 There are tons of things to do besides gamble!

I can COMPLETELY understand needing a vacation.. and worrying about the mess I will be coming home too. :lmao: Or, will I come home to the correct amount of children. :lmao:

I am trying to plan a trip next year for me and my husband. ALONE. I dont know WHO will watch our kids, but Im hoping if we are in a bigger place, we can just get someone to come in and stay at our house for a week. It probably wnt be until after next June, when Julie leaves.. But we need some time together. I wish we could do it now, but that isnt going to happen.

We are never alone together, and I know that a lot can change in a year and a half.. But I think we need something to look forward too. We need something relaxing. Soothing.. I dont know. I miss my husband, and with four little kids here, I feel like we will just keep drifting apart unless I figure something out.

So....I am thinking of booking DH a massage for Thursday - probably early afternoonish - I have learned that his happiness level increases with a massage (and a margarita) How it took us 5 some trips to find the margarita stand I still don't know :sad2::sad2::sad2: :rotfl2:

I love Jamba's oatmeal! :thumbsup2 And Starbuck's too! Why is it that when I make oatmeal at home it's gross?

When Jamba first came out with their oatmeal they brought a ton of it to my work for us to try! :thumbsup2 (I work at the local newspaper.) We get that alot with new restaurants too. I love me some free food!
