i got denied due to my new position too. :| :|

Geeze Albort, that is awful! :( I'm so sorry to hear about your grandma and that is just awful that your manager will not approve your LOA. :(

I hope the person who handles your schedules is able to talk some sense (or knock some sense) into that manager! Geeze. :sad2:

Seriously- we should get Staley to poke that guy with a giant spork!

I think that is just really sad.....it's hard for me to understand how some people can be so heartless. At least if you saw your gma, it would make you feel good knowing that you got to see her and spend time with her beforehand and it would probably give her peace of mine and joy knowing that she got to see you and your family too.

That manager seriously needs a head check!

My heart goes out to the students and staff at Noah's school.
A well loved teacher died yesterday, possible cause is a heart attack.

This was Noah's fave teacher and he talked about her frequently. One of the very special teachers who understands the middle school student. Not only teach her subject well, but to teach life lessons and always showed concern about her students well being.
A few of the teachers called students today, we are on winter break. Many others heard the news from friends and through memorial pages created by current and former students on Facebook.

Stunned by the news and overwhelmed as we are the same age, she too has two boys (though I believer hers are young children). I can't imagine how bleak the holiday must seem now for the family. :sad1:

It's a winter not-so-wonderland that we woke up to this morning.
Before we even opened gifts, the guys helped push someone's car into the driveway. Ice under the wet snow the wheels just spun and spun.
Got done with gifts and our apt caretaker knocked on our door. The company that plows our parking lots was here and wants everyone moved. UHHHH okay?? It's now almost an hour later and my dh is still not back inside, the car is still not moved to the Domino's lot. I'm guessing he and J are helping others move cars.

It's not a lot of snow at one time or blizzard conditions, it's just the steady accumulation over the past 3 days. Just warm enough to make wet, heavy snow that packs down to a slippery slush. Snowing yet again right now. Same old, same old MN winter.

Boys are happy with their gifts,(small) things they asked for plus money ..gift wrapped in their dirty socks, E told them they had to wear the socks

I got socks and bras that I desperately needed! No more squeaky bras when I flap like a chicken :rotfl: The sales lady at Macy's laughed at my old bras  I tried on one of her picks. commented "that's a lot of bra" and she told me "honey, look. It maybe be a lot of bra but you fill it out"
 uhhh, yeah I do.

Albort, hope you can get things squared away at work and be able to spend some time with your grandmother.

Babies first Christmas went well. :thumbsup2They were total crab puffs during present opening time.. They didnt get it, and just wanted to go back to bed. :lmao:But Alex and Kaylee got BIKES! Kalylee almost fell over DEAD she was so excited. Alex got scared.. He doesnt know how to ride a bike yet.. and was just worried. He is a cautious kid... doesnt like trying new things. So we are working with him. I say tape pillows to him, and let him go!:lmao:

I was worried that the kids would get a little tetchy about not having a ton of gifts this year.. But they were GREAT! and loved everything they got. I guess having a ton of presents doesnt really matter.

:goodvibes Awesome!
I had just a few things for the boys too, kinda fun to have lots of little things to open. Some of it they had on the list, some of it was just goofiness on our part and no duds. They know if they ever want anything (games, airsoft stuff , etc) they can ask and we will work it out. Better to buy when we find a deal and can fit it in our budget, not just buying for the sake of a holiday.

Then again, we have been anti-holiday this year. Just not feeling it, but we have enjoyed the time off together. Ask me again in a few days, I might give you a different answer. :rolleyes1

what is rochelle last name or email address to find on facebook?

Send her a PM, her DIS name is eatmypixiedust

Went bowling yesterday, have a bunch of free game coupons. Halfway thru our one game my wrist started to ache, got home and couldn't carry anything of weight or rotate wrist without pain. Immediate inflammation, hot and tender to touch. It's better today, crossing bowling off our list of family activities.

oh that stinks yea i know when i bowl i put too much pressure on my knee so sometimes it will give out haha one time i went down the lane literally i was crying cause of pain and laughter haha :)

I think there was a missunderstanding but Albort meant that I am on his friend list on facebook.

Albort- I think you should have them PM you if they need your # or info? It would be easier. :)

Me too!
Or at least a break to somewhere warmish, with sunshine and green plants growing!
Warm up, snow, cool down worry about car starting, warm up.. yep more snow... cool down.. carefully walking on the snow covered ice. Is it spring yet??

Woke up and debated bothering getting out of bed. :guilty:

Popped some more Aleve, stretched muscles, wiggled my stiff fingers and eventually tackled the day.

Ran off to the store, they had a sale on cheese $1.49 for 8 ox shredded , minus $1/3 in store ad coupon and $5 off catalina coupon printed wyb 5. Net of 29 cents per package Woohoo!! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Crammed 15 packages of shredded cheese into my already full chest freezer (1.5 bushel sized, now I regret not buying the next size up) and still have $5 to spend on my next trip. :cool1:

In the twin cities we have two major papers competing.
The St Paul Pioneer Press had a desk in the store today, my dh played dumb and the guy sweet talked him up into a cool offer. 89 cents a week for Thursday to Sunday delivery, digital copy for Monday to Wednesday. PLUS gave him $15 in gc for the grocery store. :thumbsup2 That measly $15 will stretch to $50 + in groceries for us ;)

Adding in the $5 cat, the $15 gc and subtracting the $7.20 billed for a month of the newspaper.. we walked out making $5, 15 bags of cheese, one bag popcorn, 4 multi packs of yogurt and one month of newspaper paid.

Screw Cub (owned by Supervalu, they also own Albertson's) , I'm shopping at Rainbow now.

:dance3:

Happy New Year Everybody!

I was supposed to work today, but don't feel very well. I've had a headache most of the day...not really sick, but just don't feel very energetic at all. So I stayed home and didn't do much of anything.

DD and her bff are taking a nap right now, but after they wake up we are supposed to go grocery shopping.
