The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

Ok - hopefully you guys can figure something out because THE DIZZY FAMILY IS GOING TO DISNEYLAND, AGAIN!!!
:yay::yay::yay::yay: Awesome! It's been much too long!

Nothing for coming home yet.. Looking for a deal.

Halloween was good. Alex was a ninja, Kaylee was Minnie Mouse, Vinny was a dog, and Jazz was a cat. My kids got a TON of candy.. Good candy too! It is delicious. :lmao:

The Southwest deal didn't work for coming home too? ($25, $50 or $100 one way depending on the amount of miles the flight would be) Not sure if the deal is still going. I haven't flown Southwest yet, I know they have weirdness for seating assignment. They've just started service at MSP in the last year, makes it fun for Delta (hub) and Sun Country (MN owned) trying to match the sale offers.

mmmm, candy. My kids are too old now, no candy score for me-- just as well, I don't need the temptation. I splurged on a muffin today, a huge banana nut muffin from Super Target. :o Opened the fridge for some creamer (fat free), I swear my fat free yogurt scolded me. :guilty:

Hey Guys!!! Long time no chat!!! It has been crazy busy in the Dizzy household - but I don't work today until 2 so I figured I would pop in.

I haven't been feeling good the last couple weeks - thought I was dying for sure (or at least diabetic). Finally dragged myself to urgent care, and they said it was just my ears. So that is one of my excuses - I have been passed out dead when I have been home.

Just applied for a job today - don't even know if I want it or not but I am crazy nervous. It is a payroll job for the schools - love payroll - just not sure what the pay is or how it would work with hubby's schedule - but I figured it was worth a shot!!!

They dont have the dates out for coming home yet.. Only up to the first week of May. I think that deal was nly a 24 hour thing.. We still got airfare for $92. one way.. Not to bad considering we are flying ALL the way across the country!

OMG!! Alison!! HOLY CRAP! YAY for thyroid troubles!! :lmao:I have been so stressing for you lately. But of COURSE had I remembered to call you before we got halfway home, I would already have the info. Its okay.. my kids were BRATS today. I didnt even want to be around the little buggers.

ANYWAYS.. We have our flights to WDW. We booked today. We are flying Southwest..GAG. I hate southwest.. But it was cheap, and free bags.. With all these kids, we need free bags! Nothing for coming home yet.. Looking for a deal.

You can stop by anytime you are down. If I'm home, then I'm home, if not, well then I'm not!:lmao: No need to call beforehand. DH & the kids went to the races yesterday and I just sat home all day resting. So it would have been nice to see you. You could have seen me in my unmatching pajamas all day, picking up dog crap off the floor (old dog is having some issues), trying to fix the flapper valve on the toilet (yep, Bruce is going on his elk trip, so something always breaks down) and eating pizza for breakfast. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl:

Ok - hopefully you guys can figure something out because THE DIZZY FAMILY IS GOING TO DISNEYLAND, AGAIN!!! I know, not quite the game plan - but i couldn't leave John or the kids, and we were going to roll DVC points over for the 1st year. Didn't have the points for the full time - but we are going to come up Thursday the 4th and leave sometime Saturday the 6th!!! It will actually still end up being a budget trip for us - we will have to buy 3 AP's, but already have time booked in May so that trip will be completely free less cost of gas!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Promise I'll book the tickets this week!

Well now I don't feel so bad...two of us that think we are dying in one week. :rotfl: Good luck on the job.

arrgghhh!!!!! My boss and my hubby are both leaving on vacation this week. Just what i freakin' need...two men that are helpless and confused! Let's throw in my annual ob/gyn appointment tomorrow and results from my blood tests...all i need is a problem or two with the kids thrown in and my life will be complete!

thank you for listening to my rant. You may now go back to your regularly scheduled lives.:):):)

I am so very bored. My husband is playing video games... I want to throw that thing out the dang window. I dont know why I hate it so much. Its not like I dont hop on the puter when I can. Not that I have much time!

The hours are up for the first week of May for WDW.. So I am into planning stage. As soon as I am able to make my dining ressies.. I will be good to go. I can start tomorrow. We are planning a few restaurants we want to try..

Chef Mickys
Ohana
50s Prime time Cafe
Cinderellas Royal table
Marakesh
Boma
Biergarten...

And we are doing the Luau thing. My mom REALLY wants to do that. Ooooohh... I need t check on Seaworld. I dont want to go there at all. But my mom does.. so we must.

*sigh* I wish I was rich... Then we could stay at the GCH.... Why do I even look and torture myself so?? :sad2:

Two thumbs up for Ohana! My kids loved it, I liked the food...it was just fun. Flaming grills, lots of noise, kids pushing coconuts around the restaurant with brooms...what's not to like?:lmao:

The next time I go to WDW I really want to try the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge.

Comcast is stupid...

Our yearly price deal was up, after a few months we decided we just couldn't afford the full cost of the triple play.
Trucked on down to a local Comcast center (not just for billing, they receive equipment and check accounts), turned in the digital cable box and said get rid of the cable.
Asked for a downgrade in service for phone and internet, weeks pass... the regular cable is still on  figured they must be behind and haven't come to the area to switch out.. whatever I'm not paying for it because I have a receipt showing we asked for end of service.

We get Qwest, get our phone number changed over from Comcast to Qwest.. no problems.

Eloy calls Comcast to argue the growing bill, fine fine.. turn in their router.
Another week goes by...

Today, someone buzzes my door "This is comcast I have a work order" uhhhhh, no we don't have you anymore.

"we need the equipment" explained we turned it in and asked for shut off weeks (hmmm a month?) ago.

"Oh?---15 second pause--- so I can turn off the cable TV?"

uhhh , yeah. Moments pass ...And finally my TV reception turns to static. :woohoo:

Idiots! Poor customer service, they don't even keep their employees informed. Such a waste of hours too, I noticed they were out here yesterday working on the system. :confused3
No wonder cable is so outrageously expensive.

AMEN sister! I HATE comcast! HATE IT! We had a.... billing issue. :rolleyes1 (I forgot to pay the bill....) Anyways, It gets disconnected, I go down and make the payment. Pay everything she wants. Was willing to pay WHATEVER, right? Next day, 8am... its disconnected again! I was SO MAD! If she had just TOLD me to pay more, I WOULD HAVE. OMG. I SCREAMED at them. I was SO PISSED. Its not like I have THREE TINY children that just hop in the car and LOVE going to the cable place.. to wait.. and wait.. I said.. I have 6 month old twins! I cant just hop in the car and go down there. You need to turn my stuff BACK on and I will pay it WHEN I have a spare minute. I dont have time to run back and forth on this!

They reconnected it for me. Knew it was their fault, not mine. BUTT HEADS.

Hello,

Alison-I'm glad to hear that you are okay and that it was just a thyroid problem and not cancer. I'm glad that you were able to find out what was wrong. :grouphug:

Bernice & Staley- I used to have Comcast and didn't like them. Then Time Warner bought them out. Time Warner is okay but they tend to have problems too. Sometimes they have technical issues and all parts of Los Angeles are down (internet). :sad2: Other than that, they seem to be okay.

I thought Comcast went out of business or got bought out.:confused3 Guess not.

Staley that's really awesome that you are almost headed to WDW!! :yay::woohoo:

I haven't had a chance to catch up too much but what month are you guys planning to go to DL? :confused3

Some things going on with me but I'm trying not to bombard you guys with phone calls anymore. Don't get me wrong, it helps to talk to you guys, I appreciate it, but I don't want to be a nuisance and I know you guys are busy too and have your own stresses to deal with. :guilty: I've been a bit busy these past few days. I worked some OT, which is helpful pay wise.

Oh and I'm getting myself out of a HUGE credit card debt. I'm really happy and proud of myself and hope things work out but it's going to be over and done with soon. It will feel like a huge burden has been lifted off of my shoulders. Oh and I'm sure the Nordstrom sales clerks think something happened to me since I have not purchased a single purse in several months. :rotfl:

You guys can see the pics on my facebook but I got a surprise gift in a shipment we received from our Taiwan office. One person who works there likes Domokun also and she knows I like him. She surprised me and sent me a calendar. It's so cute and it has a TV shaped paper stand and cards for each month that you can switch. It's really cute! :goodvibes I also got a huge Danboard that she found for me (that I paid her for). :yay:

I hope you guys are having a good day.

You know you can call me anytime Pix, if I'm busy or in the middle of something I just don't answer. But I don't mind your calls.

Great that you're getting the debt under control. It's always a good feeling to get things paid off. Takes a while, but very much a feeling of satisfaction even while you are working on it.

Cable companies in general suck!!! We had COX (what a fitting name), and they nearly screwed us out of our 2nd house!!! They had listing on our credit that we owed them $2000 for boxes never turned in. Thank goodness I kept the receipt - it was quite a headache to fix!!!:headache:

Sorry Pix that something is wrong - I know I am not easy to catch but I will definitely talk if I can.

Well, if you haven't read my update on FB yet...my bloodwork came back excellent, except for Vitamin D. No Thyroid Problem!! No Cancer (well at least not that we know about)!!

I have spent the entire summer trying to get at least an hour or more of direct sunlight each day. But obviously my body can't store it for some reason. So now I'm back on 50,000 iu of Vitamin D weekly. Pick up my prescription tomorrow and I should start feeling better by this weekend.:dance3:

Had an appointment with a new OB/GYN this morning. Very nice doctor and she specializes in menopausal issues. I have a couple of new medicines that I am trying out for some of my issues (I call them issues, not problems, well because I guess if they are not life threatening then I don't consider them problems.:rotfl:). She had already read my chart from my internal medicine doctor (they both work for the same clinic) and had suggestions in hand when I walked in. I think I'm really going to like her. She was very easy to talk to, understood my issues and even talked about things she would like to test for on down the line if my menopause continues. :thumbsup2

She is also very concerned about my Vitamin D level and I have been ordered to not only take my 50,000 iu Vitamin D pill each week. I am to drink a glass of milk with each meal, eat more cheese, yogurt and calcium fortified OJ. She is worried about my bone density.

Can't tell you how relieved I am that my bone pain, aches, swollen lymph nodes and everything are just from the Vitamin D issue.

Feel free to call me too! I try to put everyone down by 8 or 9.. Then I have blissful quiet time!:cloud9: Or on face book chat. If its working.

I go to a large clinic here in Vancouver for my medical care. They have a HUGE parking lot...but today I drove in circles for about 15 minutes trying to find a parking spot.

Come to find out they got a shipment of H1N1 vaccine in and were giving kids shots from 9am-4pm today (or whenever they ran out). I guess people started lining up at 6am this morning!:scared1:

She said Tier 1 (health care workers) received them yesterday.

Tier 2 (children age 5-24, pregnant women and extreme chronic health) could get them today.

Tier 3 (immunocompromised and chronic health patients) should be in about two weeks. They have give me a Tier 3 status due to prior cancer treatment.

Then my doctor says everyone else (Tier 4-5) will be able to get the shots toward the end of the month.

She was guessing that they would run out of the vaccine by mid-day and suggested that I bring my kids in with me in about two weeks when it's available for Tier 3. Everyone in my household will also qualify as Tier 3 because of me. See, I guess it does pay to have cancer.:lmao:

In the meantime she told me that if anybody in my family has flu like symptoms to IMMEDIATELY call the doctor and ask for a Tamiflu prescription. She said that even if we do get the H1N1, that Tamiflu taken right away seems to be stopping it from becoming life threatening. That's good to know. So I'm passing along the word.

In the meantime I hope that I just don't get sick from all of the germy kids running around at the clinic! :scared1::lmao:

Good info Alison! I am getting my kids in as soon as possible. Frelan and I dont qualify at all for it. Im good with that, as long as my kids are vac. against it!
