GREAT Job, Chris, on the undiscovered future world review on this week's podcast show!!!!!!

it sounded so interesting in fact, i'm definitely planning on signing up for it on our next trip..

thanks for taking the time to share the review with us and doing it so very very well.

well done!!! :thumbsup2

(i apologize if someone else already posted a thread on this - i looked but didn't see any)

The review was great! I did this tour in April and enjoyed it very much but I am jealous because we didn't get to see the now famous 3-D glasses washing machine. :sad1:

Our tour was basically a private tour because only my Mom and I signed up so we paid approximately $40 each (with Disney Visa discount) for a 4.5 hour VIP tour of Future World. And the best part was being backdoored into Soarin' - makes you feel like a movie star. :cool1:

Here is what the special pin you get looks like

i think i'll be alone at WDW for a few days before my mom and sister come down for the podcast cruise....perfect time to sign up for a few tours...
this will definitely be one of them...

I didn't know about this tour...i might cancel our other tour and re-book this one sounds very interesting i will let my dh listen to the pod cast when he gets home from work and we will then decide to keep the keys to the kingdom tour or do this one..

I took the tour in August and ours was mostly the same but a bit different.

We rode Spaceship Earth first before anyone got to ride it, to start off the day and to start off the concept of Future World. Because of TS Fay at the time we tried to stay indoors as much as possible. Also our Tour Guide seemed to be pre-occupied with other things as she keep taking breaks through out the tour.

After SSE we went to Innoventions to discuss the history of Epcot and the lay out of Future World. We headed over to the Seas and got to see the aquarium from the Corporate Lounge there. Then it was a break in the Land, and back doored onto Soarin'.

We then headed over to Imagination and saw the vechile repair area and the 3D glasses shop. Next stop was the backstage area of Universe of Energy and the animatronics. Then we headed back stage behind Test Track to see how the technology of the track support structures was done and the vechile repair shop.

Then it was over to the casting center to see the costume shop and how they test carpet samples and our interview with one of the International Castmembers (ours was from Hong Kong). In the conference room we discussed Illuminations and how it fit the futureworld theme and the World's Fair theme. I guess because the Globe was in refrib at the time and because TS Fay was around we didn't go to the barge area, but we were backdoored onto Test Trak, where we got our pins.

The review was great and the tour sounded awesome! Only thing is that you have to be 16 years old to go on it, so that leaves our our DD, so we cant try it out. Hope the rest of you have fun with it -- I'd take it if I could!:)

you have to be 16? that seems strange....it doesn't seem as if you do anything particularly difficult on the tour (as with the segway, where the minimum age is also 16)...

my kids went on a kids only backstage tour of the parks when they were 10 years old....they did everything i heard mentioned in the description (that existed at that time)...so i wonder why there would be a minimum restriction of 16?..
seems very very strange to me..

I really enjoyed the review, thanks for sharing. It made me want to book it.:)

I had also never heard of this but I'm strongly considering taking it on my next trip. Thanks so much!
