I am going on a nice 8 hour drive on Monday morning... and then back again. Needless to say... music might end up keeping me sane.
Right now I am in the process of giving my iPod a total and complete update. I need some new stuff.

So, I am asking all of you for your help.

What song(s) do you think that every mp3 player absolutely MUST have?
I mean, not just what you like specifically... but the general stuff that everyone has gotta have to make their music collection real!

For instance, I think that everyone just HAS to have the Kung Fu Fighting song for a complete music collection.

What do you guys think? What songs do I need to download? :confused3

I made a new one today. Had about 40 songs on it. It started at Motley Crue and ended with Alice cooper. Probably 8 or 9 bands in total. I can't remember all of the songs. I'll post soem of them later though.

Well, it is what I like, but I am sure you would like them too. Of course, we talked about all the Christian bands we liked. :sunny:

Queen- Don't Stop Me Now

Aerosmith and Run DMC - Walk this way!

Ive loved this song from the minute I heard it on Rock n Roller Coaster! :goodvibes

Haha, we come full circle. I was thinking about bringing that subject back up again

Oh yeah, I am totally rocking the Bohemian Rhapsody... that has been on there from day one! :rotfl2:

Thanks guys... keep them coming!

Welcome to the Jungle- Guns N roses
Paradise City- Guns N Roses
Sweet child O' Mine- Guns N Roses
knocking on Heaven's Door- Guns N Roses
Live and Let Die- Guns N Roses
Cars- Gary numan
Crazytrain- Ozz osbourne
Iron Man- Black Sabbath
Jump Around- house Of pain ( Badger music!)

Heh, I'd be picking my favorites if I went into song specifics, so I'll tell ya what artists you need...

Guns N' Roses
Poison
Aerosmith
Motley Crue
Soundgarden
Jack Johnson
Queen
Red Hot Chili Peppers

Just to name a few...lol.

Oh, I wouldn't exactly consider myself an authority on 'must-haves' of music. :P
But anyway. Here's some of my favorites - what would be MY must-haves. =)

"I Can Only Imagine" - Mercy Me
"Si Do Mhaimeo I (The Wealthy Widow)" - Celtic Woman
"Orinoco Flow" or "Siuil a Run (Walk My Love)" - Celtic Woman
"My Immortal" - Evanescence
"Doubting Thomas" - Nickel Creek
"When in Rome" - Nickel Creek
"Seven Wonders" - Nickel Creek
"Deep Enough to Dream" - Chris Rice
"When the Rain Comes" or "Sing Praises" - Third Day
"A Sailorman's Hymn" - Kamelot
"Missing Person" - Michael W. Smith
"Let's Go" or "Remember Me" - Mark Shultz
"What If I Stumble?" - DC Talk
"Testify to Love" - Avalon
"If We are the Body" - Casting Crowns
"What If His People Prayed" - Casting Crowns
"Never Alone" or "Mirror" - Barlow Girl
"Flood" - Jars of Clay
"Canto Alla Vita" - Josh Groban

...okay... That's overkill. More a favorites list than 'essentials'.

What genres do you prefer, and would you be putting on some instrumentals as well?

Tell us what genre you like.

Me, I like CCM. Newsboys, Casting Crowns, switchfoot, Relient K; stuff like that.

For a slight recommendation, Limewire is a good thing.

That song is one of the more fun songs for me to play on the piano. I LOVE that song. And doesn't he sing it with The Corrs? I don't know, maybe that was a different song.

Nikki Flores is great. I really like "This Girl", "I Wanna Know You Like That" and "I Got You".
Have a fun trip!

Yes indeed! Or at least, in the version I have. :teeth:

Any song that is by Nickelback is a good idea.

Haha, I have most of those songs actually. Have you heard "Me and Becky" by Chris Rice? I love it... well, my name is Becky! LOL And the song is so me, too.

Also, yeah.. I dig instrumental... I am a piano fanatic.

Yeah, totally into the CCM. But I'm an all-around type girl... minus country and rap. I'm in LOVE with Sinatra and Miles Davis.

Nope, haven't heard that one! I don't think I've heard any Chris Rice songs that I *don't* like, so I probably would like it. =) I have two of his CDs - "Smell the Color 9" and "Short Term Memories"... plus one ancient cassette owned by my parents. xD

"Scotch & Chocolate" - Nickel Creek
"First and Last Waltz" - Nickel Creek
"Robin & Marion" - Nickel Creek
"Pastures New" - Nickel Creek

"Unforgiven" - Apocalyptica

What about bluegrass? Nickel Creek, who are pretty much my favorite band, are generally categorized as bluegrass.
Though you say you don't like country... here's a couple you could try if you'd give it a chance:
"Skin(Sarabeth)" - Rascal Flatts
"Whiskey Lullabye" - Brad Paisley
"There Goes My Life" - Kenny Chesney
"Jesus Take the Wheel" - Carrie Underwood
"Me and Emily" - Rachel Proctor
"Concrete Angel" - Martina McBride
"God's Will" - Martina McBride
