For a looong time, I had no clue what "Vincent" was about. Then I looked up the lyrics and was like "OH! Vincent VAN GOGH! SWEET!" No wonder I felt I related to the song, as I too am an artist. Though I am not quite insane.

Rather, famous paintings.
Indeed, Josh Groban didn't write it. It wasn't until his later CDs (starting with "Closer", I think) that he sang songs the he had written himself or co-written.
